View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to model I-Beams to s solid. I put 3d polyline around the front "I" then a path down the middle of the beam. I have tried extrude, sweep with aligned to path, and sweep not aligned - then put a patch on both ends. Use the command "surfsculpt" and it will not convert due to not being water tight. I delete the 3d poly and path line before patching.
We only have 2011 - Civil 3D.
I'm running Inventor 2013 professional and I want to design a steel structure for stress analysis. But I can't find any DIN H-beams (HEB, HEA in accordance to DIN 1025) in the "insert frame member selection".
Isn't it possible to use DIN H-beams in Inventor frame generator? Can I add my own parts to the library for stress analysis?
I have a situation where need to frame a W14x30 into a W14x61. When I perform the Notch command, the W14x30 is only partially notched. The W14x61 is taller by .05 in. I tried to notch the W14x30 by ending it at the flange edge of the W14x61. I also tried to notch by ending the W14x30 on the other side of the W14x61, both attempts yielding no results.

Any innovative approach to creating the starburst effect like the effect in the image above? Blend tool? Clone, rotate, repeat?
I am working on the project with sloping roof. I have drawn beams with slope. however when I am drawing slab with slopes I am not getting this slopes. There is gap between the beams and slab. I have attached screen shot for more information. Also I need to apply loads for this sloped roof.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to add beams to a layout of columns and some of them (not all) are behaving oddly. Instead of the beam trimming square at the side of the columns, the column and beam are joining with a mitered connection. The same is happening with some of the intersecting beams...a 45 degree miter on each beam.
There must be some setting that I have inadvertantly changed but I cannot find what it is. Changing trimming parameters in the Properties panel that seem like they should be involved, has no effect. And neither does cycling, via the Control key, the connection parameter when the beams are placed.
We are using ACA 2011. When I look to place a default Steel Column from the Design tab of the Design tool palette, I see no optoins re: the make-up of the column, only the length - the column only shows as a generic extruded box. Are there I-Beam, C-Beam profiles loaded anywhere in the content that I can access.

this sounds nice but the Beams are not an option in the filter tool...
where are the beams in the filter tool?
I just downloaded a student version of Autocad for a uni assignment.upload a drawing/template I could use as a template.
I just need appropriate layers to draw some columns / beams and slab with basic reo in Metric format (model will be drawn in mm's). A simple A3 layout with title block would also be nice
I have tried googling for template downloads but all I got was a bunch of sites telling me how to make my own (rather not waste my time) and that Autocad should have come with some available (none had more than 2 layers).
I have a shed roof with a series of beams. The roof has a hatch. In the RCP, how can I show the beams "in front" of the hatch? I've tried changing the view to Hidden, but that gives me the top of the roof, not the underside... Also, many of the floor items (such as kitchen cabinets) are showing.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get this to really look like gold. I've played around with the curves and when I get the majority of it looking like the right color, the lighter spots where light reflected off of the piece get far to white. I run into the same problem with duplicating the backround layer and changing the blend mode to screen. Any thoughts?

Mine is a little more crisp than this picture on this website, because I don't know really what I'm doing. Of course that could be my problem with this knob. However, I followed the directions exactly, but I didn't get too close to how The Keeper did it.
I'm using Photoshop 7. 0.
Any one knows some good ideas on making those nice see thru orbs?
