CorelDRAW X4 :: Button Icons With Cutout Type Effect
Jul 9, 2011
I'm trying to create buttons with a cutout type effect as pictured here [URL].......
I think can do it with a bitmap, but I want to retain the button as a vector. I've tried messing around with shadows and embossing, but cannot get the look right. (i'm using X4)
I am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.
I have a smaller picture with a larger cutout of one object and I'm wanting to add some trails or something from the small one in the original to the cutout and I'm not sure how to do this. I've tried the shooting star trails tutorial I found but it just didn't work right for the motorcycle.
I just installed PSP X5 Ultimate (full install). After it completed it installed an update. All appeared to go fine. I opened the program and went to EDIT. I am familiar with PSP as I have used a number versions up to X2. The first thing I tried to do was crop a photo. The crop tool buttons are not correct. The "Apply", "Crop as new image" and so on under the crop area window are not correct. I see a square of colors. I see the same thing on the main tool bar for the "Copy Special" function and the "Share" button. There could be more that I have not discovered yet. I rebooted and tried again, but get the same thing. Also, the button icons look different each time I load.
Shortly after I loaded PSP X5 on my computer, the picture icons on the buttons in the docking workspace changed and I don't know why. These are the icons at the top and bottom of the Docking area where I work with Layers and also have several other items docked.
I am using PSP X5 version 15.2.0.12
Across the top are the icons for " Edit Selection, Show/Hide Layer effects, Link/Unlink, Lock/Unlock, and Layer Styles".
My wife is designing some tote bags that she will have screen printed. I use CorelDRAW at work for manual publishing, and she is having me draw out her designs. I was wondering if there is a way to cut out the white objects from the black object behind in the graphic below. It would save having to add a white color, instead just showing the natural color of the bag.
On another note, I'm getting tired of having to do this for her, but she says the screen printers only take .cdr or .ai files. She's been using iDraw on my iPad to come up with her designs, then I replicate them in Corel. She has a Mac laptop, and I'm wondering if there are any reasonably priced programs that would export to .ai or .cdr so I don't have to do this anymore.
Every time I go into Corel Photo-Paint x5 and try to use Cutout lab, there's no pop up window with the lab, the program stops working until I hit escape. I have a lot of cutouts to do.
LT 2014 Menu Buttons missing from top of Layer Properties Manager Window (see attachment).Works fine in LT 2013. What changed between the two versions that causes this?
Question 1: I have a 4ft x 8ft banner that I'm designing and my printer has to save it in 300dpi...how exactly do I do that.
Question 2: I have a picture with many objects in it that I'm working with. I want to use only 1 object from the entire picture. I've used the cutout lab in corel photo paint before but my final cutout comes out with rough edges plus it takes a long time to get the result. Is there another way to "cut out" an object from a picture?
I am trying to combine a snowflake with all it's cutouts and a name for my children. I want the name to remain and be rastered on the laser and the cutout lines for the snowflake to merge around the name and year.
I'm using CS6 in Windows 7 64 (bit) - I've successfully used File Types Manager (freeware) to change file type icons (since the Windows file type editing has been removed). My problem is that JPEG, PNG, & GIF change in lockstep - (like you would expect all of a similar type - ex. JPG, JPEG, etc. to do). BMP and TIFF are not affected. Is it a Windows or Photoshop matter? (This was not a problem in Windows XP and CS.) I would just like to have the correct icon (provided in the Photoshop.exe file) associated with the various file types.
I downloaded a website layout done in Photoshop and was hoping to modify it to fit my own info. At the top it uses a menu bar with blue text. When the site is opened in its html view all text is blue. When a link is clicked that word turns orange. This is not a rollover effect because Imageready does not have a slice with an effect for it. When I try to edit this text something is changed with the properties of it. In the layers window the T to indicate a text box is grey. After I replace the text with my own the T box is it's usual white and the effect no longer works. If you don't understand this explanation Please email me and I will send you a photo of what I am talking about. This is not a rollover effect. how to do it and I don't know why my changing the text to my own deletes the effect.
I'm making a project on Visual Basic and what I'm trying to make is two pictures:one regular of a button with a nice frame.the second is that same button only having the effect of being pressed and pushed down.So I will program in VB that when the user presses the button it makes the effect of like a 3d pressed button.
I have made this button so far:and I would like to add it this frame (don't mind the other buttons):I'm using CS5 and my operating system is windows 7
I am trying to achieve this quite simple carving effect around buttons and on surfaces. It seems simple, but I cant figure out how to get the effect just right.
I'm using Photo & Graphic Designer 2013. I notice that the buttons are now under the Page Elements menu. I'm trying to figure out how to change the button color without losing the 3D effect. The Help says:
Change the color by clicking on the appropriate colors on the left end of the Color Line and choosing 'edit'
if I just highlight the button and change the color, it turns the button into a flat color.
I have two questions here. First, I have some text on an image I made, and when I highlighted the text it made the area behind look really cool in a way that I didn't anticipate. It sort of looked like a photo negative. So, I thought that maybe inverting the colors of the whole image would give me the same effect. Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as good. So, is there anyway to make the image look like what it would look like if you highlighted a bunch of text on top of it? If somebody needs visuals to understand this, I can take a couple screenshots.
My second question is: is there any way to invert the colors of text? Also, if there is a way to do what I mentioned above, how could I do the same thing to text?
I'm trying to replicate the type effect (upper arc and lower arc combined) that's shown in the example below in Illustrator. So far, my attempts haven't been fruitful. The example might be hand-drawn and there might not be a way to do it in illustrator.
I've been trying for years off and on to recreate the look of a Type 55 Polaroid positive/negative effect. There are a few border effects software packages that offer similar effects, but they pale in comparison to the real thing.
I've recently resorted to scanning a Type 55 negative and thought it would be a simple matter to overlay this on an image, but am having difficulty keeping the nuances of the negative. I've tried deleting the white with different opacities and even layer blending options, but nothing concrete yet.
I have to create a website for 1 of my IT module in uni the website im going to create is for a poetry socitiey i want to create have the title text [Sahabba Poetica] arise in a flame fade out into smoke then fall down as dust
Am trying to achive the effect of the attached, I'm talking about the bottom half with the red colour. Sort of looks like water or wine has been spilt on the paper... Anyone seen anything like this, even something along the same lines would great as a starting point.
I've had trouble creating a certain type of motion blur effect. Typically, motion blur radiates outward from one single point. However, What I would like is for a whole section of an image to be clear (for instance, a character's torso) and then have the image GRADUALLY get blurrier from there.
I cannot figure a way to do this (apart from a very long process of creating many duplicate layers and doing an independent motion blur for each one).
Attached is an example of what my attempts look like right now: an obvious line around the region that I'm trying to showcase, rather than a smooth, gradual transition into the motion blur.
Using Illustrator CS6. Created type and applied an effect (Graphic Pen) and the yet I could not get it to do anything but come out as black. How do you apply color to the effect?
