CorelDRAW X4 :: Cutout Objects On Top Of Another Object?
May 16, 2012
My wife is designing some tote bags that she will have screen printed. I use CorelDRAW at work for manual publishing, and she is having me draw out her designs. I was wondering if there is a way to cut out the white objects from the black object behind in the graphic below. It would save having to add a white color, instead just showing the natural color of the bag.
On another note, I'm getting tired of having to do this for her, but she says the screen printers only take .cdr or .ai files. She's been using iDraw on my iPad to come up with her designs, then I replicate them in Corel. She has a Mac laptop, and I'm wondering if there are any reasonably priced programs that would export to .ai or .cdr so I don't have to do this anymore.
I have cutout an object (Duck) from a photo in Photoshop and now i want to use it for a wall decal. So now i need a vector file with path around contours of the object (Duck), but how can i do that exactly because the shape is very complex?
Question: How can I get the objects to appear in the Object Manager?
I have the CorelDraw 6X suite. The objects in the Object Manager window are not showing up. It's supposed to have curves, images, and text there. Instead, it has got just the following:
Master Guides (all pages)
Desktop Guides Layer 1 Document Grid
I have been using CorelDraw since about 1999. My first CorelDraw program was CorelDraw 9. Then about six or eight months ago I purchased CorelDraw 6X
This is the first time anything like this has ever happened.
Just as of today, as I begin adding objects &/or text to a graphic, absolutely nothing is 'showing up' in the Object Manager under Layer 1. It seems like always in the past, whenever I added a shape or text or curve or anything, a new line would be added under whatever Layer I was working in, detailing the object's properties.
Is there some simple config-setting that I tripped without knowing it?
My list of objects in the Object Manager docker have disappeared and I can't see how to get them back. With the layer manager view I can see the layers but no way can I display the objects (which I normally use a lot).
We are using CorelDRAW 15.2.686.0 on our fleet and are noticing that Object Manager has some weird behaviour when you add objects to a page after you copy/paste an object onto a page.
Below shows me adding some rectangles to a page and object manager showing them:
Then when I copy paste an image into the document this object and any subsequent objects are not shown in the Object Manager:
As you see I have more objects than are shown in the Object Manager!
If I go to the Window Menu, then Dockers, then untick the Object Manager box, then once again go back and tick it, then all the objects on my page now show in Object Manager!
Every time I go into Corel Photo-Paint x5 and try to use Cutout lab, there's no pop up window with the lab, the program stops working until I hit escape. I have a lot of cutouts to do.
When you draw a marquee around several objects and you want to eliminate one thing from the selection, is there a way to unselect just one object from being selected without having to unselect and reselect everything else?
My object manager all of a sudden decided to not show the objects on the layers. If I click the "eye" on the layer it will show or hide, but the names of the objects on the layers are not listed under the layer name.
If I right click on the layer, it has the check beside visible, printable, and editable. I have Corel Draw Graphics Suite X4.
I'm trying to create buttons with a cutout type effect as pictured here [URL].......
I think can do it with a bitmap, but I want to retain the button as a vector. I've tried messing around with shadows and embossing, but cannot get the look right. (i'm using X4)
Question 1: I have a 4ft x 8ft banner that I'm designing and my printer has to save it in 300dpi...how exactly do I do that.
Question 2: I have a picture with many objects in it that I'm working with. I want to use only 1 object from the entire picture. I've used the cutout lab in corel photo paint before but my final cutout comes out with rough edges plus it takes a long time to get the result. Is there another way to "cut out" an object from a picture?
I am trying to combine a snowflake with all it's cutouts and a name for my children. I want the name to remain and be rastered on the laser and the cutout lines for the snowflake to merge around the name and year.
I know my code below wont work, just putting here to hopefully explain more exactly what im trying to do
Sub FindbyFill() Dim sh As Shape dim findColor ActiveSlection.GetColor = findColor For Each sh In ActiveLayer.Shapes If sh.FillColor = findColor Then ActiveSlection + sh End If Next sh
Let's say, for example, that i create an object with a size, then i create other objects with other sizes.
When I try to see the size of the first object created it says that has the same size like the other objects which have other sizes (it's even obvius cause they r bigger on my screen:D).With all the other versions of Corel i didn't had those problems, but X5 does that.
I often produce graphics in CorelDRAW, export it as en eps file and insert it inside a MS Word document as an image and finally convert it to pdf. This way my vector graphics (often linedrawings with or without fill) usually is preserved in the final pdf document. I can zoom in and the lines keep on displaying perfectly sharp. This is important, since it easily looks bad when thin lines are turned into bitmaps, even when watched from a distance.
Now, in some graphics I created today, I had a circle with fountain fill and outline (symbolizing a sphere) put behind a filled rectangle, which had a uniform transparency applied to it. In the resulting pdf file, the 'sphere' was turned into bitmap. Inside CorelDRAW everything was vector graphics, but something was loast in the process. what happens with the graphics in the different steps in the process and eventually could explain a workaround to make everything look as vector in the final pdf file.
I got a simple question about the creation of copies of an object. Is it possible to have the objects in the mirroring of an object change with the object used as reference for mirroring?
If there is no function to do this directly is there a way to do it via Ilogics to update the mirrored objects? If possible even by deleting and creating a new the mirroring yet not manually but by i logic?
Resizing objects is a mess in CorelDRAW X6 when objects are outlined with Scale With Object enabled to retain proportions after resizing.
None of the tools dealing with outlines (e.g. Contour or even Outline itself) continue to work properly after resizing the object.
I strongly suggest to recalculate outline property values after resizing if Scale With Object is checked. Don't just do it hidden somewhere internally in the object model by applying a temporary scaling factor. Instead actually recalculate the actual property values if Scale With Object is checked.
CorelDRAW Graphic Suite X6.4 @ Windows 7/Windows 8 - 64 Bit, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012
have to select an object under an artistic media brush object. i try hold down alt key when select the object under the artistic media object but it select the second object
Is there a way to exclude single attributes from being defined in a object style? As example: i want to define an outline that does not change width of the objects, but everything else.
There is a small tick box right of every attribute with help text "None this object attribute is not defined by a custom style" but i can not mark it. My feeling is, that i need to switch on this tick box to get the result i need, but i can not. When i click on it, it just gives me a greyed out "Revert". When i try to make child styles, there is a way to break the connection to parent style with these tick boxes, but no luck.
Trim the master object and the cloned object gets deleted. The master object cannot be directly trimmed, so I grouped it with another object, which seems to enable the shaping tools. check if this behavior exists in X5 also.
I have inserted a clip about the problem. Maybe other users and the Corel staff will check it out.
Occassionally the object properties in my object manager will dissappear and I am unable to bring them back. I have tried toggling all the buttons on the manager, restarting corel, resetting corel to it's default settings and restarting my computer but nothing will bring back the properties. It does not happen on every single file but it happens often enough to be a pain. I have attached a picture of what the object manager looks like.
After I import different files in my working file, it's getting hard to work- RAM(16GB) is getting completely full and its almost unworkable! I checked out Object Manager and found stack with "SVG data" and "Locked SVG data" object there under some basic shapes.
Stack is about from 10000 to 100000... Some times even more, but its not possible to select all them because Corel just stops. What is that- "SVG data" and "Locked SVG data" object and why they are so many there?
It involves right clicking on an object in Corel Draw X6. I had this same issue in X5 too.
My issue is that if I select an object and then right click on that object (I right click on the "X" in the middle of the selected object) it will select the object below the "X." In other words, I can only ever get the right click menu to appear on the object I select if there are no objects below it.
I need to find a way to cut the shape of one object out of another object. In the above photo I need to be able to print the black crosses without the printer printing the white ink under them (you can see where the black ink is not adhering to the white ink very well).
I have stacked objects in the layers panel according to the order I want them to be, but somehow one Object Still stays infront of some objects even though it is stacked the lowest in the layers panel. And I have even tried to 'Send it to back', by selecting it and clicking on 'Objects' tab and 'Arrange' in it.
How would I put smaller objects inside a 3D object? I made a tube and wanted to fill it with little spheres. How to put the objects inside and shade them to look like they're in there.
