Here is an example of my issue, when brush strokes overlap, a darker color is created:
I'm trying to brush with one flat color, with no overlaping effect. Here is a photo of what I'm trying to do, but this example was done with the pencil tool. I want to do this with the brush..I'd like to be able to switch from the top style to the bottom style when needed.
I have just installed Photoshop CS4. When I try to use the spot healing box on a dark background,the target area is invisible as the target circle is black, as is the background. It's like trying to find a black cat in a coal mine.
What can I do to see the brush target circle.
Is there any way to keep the dark interface but have the brush preview images still be black on white as opposed to white on black? The white on black is so hard to read. As much as I love the dark interface, I had to go back to light gray.

The brush tool loses the outline of the tool as the diameter gets larger. e.g. at 175px there is a fill outline of the tool. At 200px only a semi-circle is shown.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with the Blob Brush tool where I can't change the basic brush to something else. Whenever I pick a brush I want and I try draw with the Blob Brush tool, the brush I picked reverts back to the basic brush. Here are screenshots:
I pick a brush that I like first
But when I start drawing with the Blob Brush tool, it reverts back to the basic brush automatically
Am I doing something wrong or is the Blob Brush tool only capable of using the basic brush?
I'm taking classic movie images, making them into black and white silhouettes and trying to make a montage style thing of some great film noir images. Its all going well, got the making of the silhouette down but now comes my quandary.
Each image will overlap another slightly and where they overlap i want the top one to switch to an inverse of itself. For instance if the bottom layer is black when part of the layer above is overlaid only the section which overlaps becomes white in a kind of checkerboard effect.
When i using a Type tool always showing a dark background so i can't see any text

I am trying to do labels that depict my logo. When I put the logo in the corner, the outer boundry overlaps even though the logo is within the label.
Print preview message says one or more components tresspass printable area. I have only entered the logo. The background on the logo has been removed.
I have a stringy object which is a single closed path. The fill disappears where it overlaps itself. Can I prevent that?

The Selection Brush Tool allows you to paint a selection free style without being bothered by the "Quick" feature that provides guesses about where you might want to select. I could not find the Selection Brush Tool in CS5. Is there one? The lasso is not as easy to use.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is about Brush sizes. Here is an example. If I select the Paintbrush tool and select a size of 300 pixels and 100% hardness. The "Circle" that represents the brush is approximately 600 pixels in diameter. Almost twice the size of the actual colour that I want to apply. It makes it very difficult to be precise. Is this a glitch or is there a setting somewhere that I can't find.
