View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a macro to bend text, objects, grouped text & objects, bitmaps, etc. quickly and easily. i've used the envelope tool to bend text but if i'm trying to bend something other than text then it doesn't work. say, for example, i have a bitmap or gif image and have typed some text below this image then grouped them together. normally, i would convert it to a bitmap, into CMYK color, then edit the bitmap (adding additional space at the top of the image/text to accommodate the room needed for the bend by going to Image --> Paper Size --> Bottom Center --> and increasing the height by ~10%). then i go into the Effects --> Distort --> Shear and actually perform the bend.Â
Any existing macros which will perform this function?

if there is a technique in Photoshop that will allow you bend a straight line, but have the curves is the line be smooth.
I tried Filter --> Distort --> Wave and Filter --> Distort --> Shear and it did bend the line, but the curves were jagged. Looking for smooth lines.
way to bend a picture so it follows a path. Kinda in the way you can make text follow a patch, except with a picture. I'm designing something that will fit in a perfect circle, and I have a logo at the top, but I would like it to follow the curve in the upper part of the circle.

Is there a way that I can bend a photographic image (or a selection of a photographic image) into a circle? For example, I might have a photographic image of a pencil that I want to bend into a complete circle so that the sharpened tip touches the eraser, essentially forming a “wheel” out of the pencil.
Along these same lines is there a filter, plugin, etc that would allow me to take a selection of a photographic image and distort it into some predefined shape?
I'm trying to "bend" an image (or text) into a ring. I'm not talking about simply having the text follow a circular path, but rather more like the filmstrip on Apple's new dotMac logo,
How did they get the items - like the video frames in particular - to "wrap" around the globe like that? Perhaps Photoshop is not the right tool? I've seen this same effect with text and other images on various site, and I've always assumed it was done in Photoshop.
How do you "wrap" the rounded edges around the main image with the reflection like this?

Once you flip the reflection layer, how do you bend the image so it's lined up in a curve to the main image?
I'm working on some renderings for homes, and I need to plase some bricks over an arch on a window. I've got a pic of bricks all lined up, but they are straight, and I need them to bend around a curve.

The quality of my current shadow should give you some idea of how long ive been using photoshop
I've been working at it a little while and i cant seem to get anywhere. I have the feeling the trick lies somewhere in the confluence of two gradient shadows, coming together and bending to form a slightly darker area where the imaginary 90 degree angle would be.
I'm working in 3D to create models but to get the dimensions right I'm creating the center lines and then sweeping the shape around it to form the solid.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI often have trouble bending shapes with nice gradients, typically a tube on technical concept drawings
I'm using a workaround of adding lines on top of each other with gradually brighter colours feathered but it's not really elegant and there are issues at the end of the lines.
How would you this if I want to keep the nice gradients and the tube needs bending?
Is there a way of creating a load of cones on a plane, and then have them all bend, as if they are attracted to a dummy above them. So you could move the dummy around and the cones would all bend dynamically. Doesn't have to cones though, maybe blades of grass.

WHAT I A TRYING TO DO: is bend a grid/mesh pattern of material to a certain radii and distance. In the attached DWG I have used either Extruded or Sweep to create the existing (latitudal?) grid but am not doing well creating the perpindicular grid at the arc drawn below the existing (lat.) grid.
I believe the dwg is a good representation of what I am attempting to do, and I am trying getting to my end result, whether it means using what i've begun or starting over, and using the "Best Practices" to achieve such.
