The way I've seen is making a rectangle and filling w a gradient and copy/paste and move it over. My prob is when I rotate the image to make the bend and copy its copying the rotated image.
make a rusted metal square in Gimp. I managed to google to make a square selection and fill it with a color. Now I would really like to give it a effect like in this tutorial. I can sort of get it working, but my starting square is not good enough and I do not know much about colors. How do I make a good starting square with some gradient added to it (well I can make one in inkscape and export it, but how do I do it in Gimp), and most importantly, what colors would work well and how do I give the rust a rust-color.
We have an issue where we are trying to bend a 1mm sheet with a 24mm radius. The one side must come out 105mm wide and the flange must be 50 mm wide. inventor gives a flat pattern width of 143.4
If we bend using a brake press and a 24mm tube blade then it wont come out the right size. its like the flat pattern isn't big enough. we get the 50 mm flange but whats left over is 99 and not 105. How do we deal with something like this?
I've created a sheet metal part and have set my parameters. In using the fold feature, cannot create bend past 180 degrees. Radius is large enough (21") and sheet is long enough as there is still flat sheet after a 180 degree bend. How do you create bends past 180 degrees?
I want to bend/fold this piece over a specific profile. There are too many tools for bending a sheet metal and I just don´t know where to start. I searched the web and this forum but there are too many options. Also when I create the flat pattern, it should be precise with a difference max +/-5mm. I thought I could use contour flange. Usualy it works. But only when it´s a simple rectangle. But not on this part.
How can I bend this component with the correct radius in Sheet Metal and then Flange it (It consists of two items being put together but It's hard to see)? I used the bending function in standard before but I have to Flange now.
Trying to create a fold/bend/flange along a curved feature. I modeled the part to view but would like to be able to model this feature in sheet metal. This is how it would be manufactured, probably in a die roll.
Automation of the sheet metal bending parts unfold /refold in vb.net for Inventor 2013.
I want to unfold the part with selecting the one of the face as stationary face and further selecting the bend/ bends with reference to face in vb.net
For refold, I have to select the stationary reference automatically , based on some criteria, and further to select the single and multiple bends by using API.
Also, I want to find the bends and faces relationship i.e.
How to find the bend associated with number of faces, how to find face entity using internal name ;
The code I tried I am attaching here for your reference.
I'm a bit confused on the style library system built into Inventor - it isn't very intuitive.
I'd like to create my tube and pipe styles as well as sheet metal styles and have to never create them again - regardless of the project/workspace. Is this something that can be saved in the standard part/assembly template files? If so, how?
I'm tired of creating styles every time I start a new document - it is a waste of a lot of time! And I'd like to avoid having to import settings on every document.
I have a 14 gauge sheet metal part that follows the profile in the attached picture. 7/8" legs with a 1/16" offset. Because it's 14 gauge, the contour flange won't create it. I need it to be able to be turned in to a flat pattern so that I may export it to a .dxf.
Is there another way to make this that will allow me to flat pattern it? I have a couple of pieces like this where the offset is very slim, so I am looking for a way to do all of them like this.
I have been trying to create a wing rib similar to the one in the picture. I have been successful in recreating the basic shape itself, but I cannot figure out how to make the bend to the "lightening hole" (circle).
I am making this 3d Model out of Sheet metal but I am having a problem finishing it. On the very bottom of the part, I want the red and the green surface to be parallel to the Y-axis on both sides. The sketch "Desired Geometry" shows what I am trying to make. I tried using corner seam but it gives me error. The distance between the two red surface can vary. How this shape can be achieved which will give me a correct flat pattern too.
I need to create the crimp plate in inventor to give my shop the measurements before the crimping process for material and also give them measurements to complete the crimping process. I figured I could use the sheet metal process. I'm trying to find an easier way than going back to Autocad and p-line everything.
I am making a hopper to dispense sand, but I can't figure out the process to make the shape I want. I thought it would be easy! This is pretty much the first sheet metal part I've tried to make apart from easy tutorial things. I'm OK at normal parts.
I've mocked up the rough shape I want from a normal extruded part (attached). I've also attached the start of a folded version. I've had lots of attempts and none of them have really got anywhere.
I am working on a 3D object (a bus) and want to add a deep metal color on it! I don't know how to make a texture so I get that nice metal color! I am going to paint the bus red and some other color but I get lost in all effects etc!I How I continue after adding a red color on the texture so I get it to look like a nice deep metal color!
I'm having some issues using either GIMP or PS to do this, so I figured I'd ask here. when it comes to image editing and tasks like this, but I'm currently being asked to do something for a job.
I need to take a single image which is a restaurant floor layout, then make it so all of the tables on the image are a different layer so that they can be moved around/customized accordingly.
As far as I can tell, this would involve creating layers, copying the tables from the main image, pasting them all on top as their own layer, and then sliding them around from there.
Is there any easy way to do this, or am I completely off-base?
I have scanned in some red coloured Chinese characters. They were on white paper. Now I want to make the 'white' disappear, because it ist not quite white, and when I print I get a shadowy block around the characters. If I save a .png, can I tell it to make white invisible, transparent?
I am trying to make an active button using the Create-Buttons-Round Button Script Fu menu item. I then select the colours I want, select Active and Pressed, and then hit create. The buttons look perfect, except for one thing ..I need the buttons without the Text. But if I enter no text in the text box when creating the button, I get this error:
Quote Error while executing script-fu-round-button: Error: ( : 1) Procedure execution of gimp-image-select-rectangle failed on invalid input arguments: Procedure 'gimp-image-select-rectangle' has been called with value '-1.500000' for argument 'width' (#5, type gdouble). This value is out of range.
I want to make a Christmas present spelling out the last name using individual photos of letters (see below). I would like the finished image to be 16x20, and I am going to upload it and have it printed at a photo developing shop. I'm not sure how to set this up in GIMP.
When I set up my new file, how many pixels should I make the new image, if my desired size is 16x20. I'm not sure how many dpi to use when I convert the inches to pixels. I read that 300 dpi is desired.
I was thinking about making image boxes for each letter in one layer and cutting and pasting each letter into the boxes. Is this possible or do I need to make a new layer for each photo?
I got Gimp 2.4. I am missing something. Every time I use a tool like rotate, it keeps the old picture there and turns a new image around. Then when I select another tool like resize, the image goes back/ to it's original position?
I am using Gimp 2.8 and i am trying to create my own brushes.I make the image i want and then i go to export it into my gimp brushes as name.gbr but and error pops up telling me i dont have permission.
