Photoshop :: Any Advantage Opening Raw Photo In 16 Bit
Apr 28, 2013
I have 5d mark2 , i will update to mark 3 soon . I use almost camera raw to edit and import my photos in Photoshop. I use color match rgb , sometime adobe rgb
now my question about my photos , i 'm used to print in a lab or i upload in internet ,or i watch in my TV or PC. Is there a real advantage opening a raw file in 16bit and work the photo in 16 bit??
I mean i have an eizo , is there a real advantage editing photos in color or make black and white?
I have been using both of the versions and can see no real difference or advantage of one version over the other. One thing I do note, is that my plugins only seem to be active on the 32 bit version.
I am trying to open a photo in camera raw and the image always has a lot of red and blue in the picture? What can I do to avoid this. When I first started learning photoshop this did not happen?
I am studying Graphic Design at Uni and buying my first mac as well as Adobe Phtotoshop and Illustrator (CS6). I have decided to purchase the 13" MacBook Pro however I am unsure whether there is any advantage of having the Core i7 instead of the Core i5. Can CS6 take advantage of the extra cores?
I usually import my pictures and ask LR to generate standard previews at the same time, which is fine for a full screen preview. When going to loupe view and zooming, LR inevitably processes a 1:1 view. This is fine for me. However, after scrolling on other pictures and going back to the same exact picture which has already been 1:1 rendered, LR displays the 'Loading' message and actually proceed to another 1:1 rendering. It doesn't take advantage of the cache even though 1. dat files are present in the ACR cache directory 2. I flushed the cache and tried again 3. I set a higher limit (20 GB).I'm running LR 3.5 on Windows 7 x64.
how the content collector works and this feature to me seems to replace the need of having a Library file or using snippets. The problem with Libary files and snippets is they use special formats, and accessing them can be problematic if you created them with earlier versions of InDesign.
With content collector, I can create a library of objects with normal InDesign files, or even have several items in a single InDesign file. For example, if I created a set of arrows, I could put all these in a single InDesign file. I could then use content collector to link or copy the arrows I want from the original file.
I am trying to piece together a mock magazine cover using photos and text. If I open a photo it automatically sets it at 72pix/inch. I understand that to print quality text, the resolution needs to be a lot more. Is this photoshop settings or my camera?
I just downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CS4 Extended to my Windows Vista Inspiron E1705. When I go to File, Open and locate my photo, it only opens the picture to a small thumbnail in the layers box. How do I get the photo to open to the main area? How do I enlarge the tiny thumbnail? There is no image in the main work area. It seems so simple, but I just can't figure it out. I've tried lightening the background and adding a layer. Please help with this most basic question!
I tried to open a photo (photoshop 5.5) and got this error message: "cannot open the document because of a disk error'
I went to 'open' Then the dialog box opened and I clicked on the photo to op en (the image is visible in the box) and then I click 'open' and got the mes sage.
My system has deleted all the temp files. The photo files are in a folder in 'my docs' so i know they are there and can be opened.
I just installed PSE 12 on my new iMac. When I try to open a photo from iPhoto, I am getting the following message, "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file." How do I access my photos to edit them?
Using PS Elements 11 on Win 7 computer. Some photos I open are displayed at 72 ppi resolution. Other photos open at 180 or 300 ppi resolutions. What determines this? How can I specify the ppi resolution to always use when opening a photo.
i'm a first time user of this photoshop CS4. When I open an image to edit it is 'tiled'. How do I turn this off to show the photo as it should be seen? driving me crazy.
Instead of opening the psd-file normally from bridge into photoshop the file converts to smart object.
I used to work with CS3 where double-clicking in Bridge on a psd-file would open it in Photoshop. Now, when I double click in Bridge (CS6) it opens a "quick time pro" file, which I definitely don't want. When I use the right mouse to "place in Photoshop" it does so, but then automatically converts the file into a smart object, which I don't want either. What need I do to open a psd-file in Bridge as normal psd-file in Photoshop?
I have the main screen pop up and asks if I want to organize my pictures or edit them. Nothing happens when I clock edit. Then I go into the organize and try to go to edit and an error message comes up saying I need the trial to dowload to use this. I try clicking downlaod and nothing happens?
Every time I double click on a bitmap in Corel Draw, it opens up Photo Paint. How can I disable this option? I never use it and its a waste of my time because it takes too long to load up! I don't know if my mouse has a problem, but sometimes I can just click once on a bitmap and it triggers the photo paint to open.
The Coreldraw Graphics Suite X5 is my first foray into this product since version 3 (way back when). PhotoPaint supports CR2 files.
Except that in my case it doesn't do so consistently. Files from my Canon 5D MkII occasionally open fine (just this evening, I started getting a problem withe these as well), but 7D files consistently crash the program and I have to exit.
I have SP3 installed.
This machine is a 6-month old 64-bit HP desktop (AMD multi-core processor) with 8 GB of RAM. Photoshop, Lightroom, Painter 12, and PSP X4 work without incident and open all supported files smoothly.
I downloaded Corel 15 trial verson but decided not to purchase. After trial I uninstalled the trial. Now when I use my pre-installed Corel 13 when I try to edit bitmap within Corel draw it open Windows 7 paint instead of Corel 13 Photo Paint. I tried doing a re-install REPAIR but I am having same issue.
I can not figure out how to maintain the original file size of my photos when I open them in Paintshop For example, the original file might be 3.78 MB but once it opens in Paintshop it is only 706 KB. Do I need to change settings somewhere?
When opening a multi-page TIF file, there are options to open a specific page, a range of pages, or all pages. Unfortunately, the options for range of pages or all pages are dimmed, and cannot be selected. What can we not select these other options?
way of opening images in CS2 where after opening they will appear in the middle of the CS screen rather then in the top left corner?
I can drag and maximize so they appear in the middle, but on reopening another image they default to the top left again, I would like them to always open in the middle?
When trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.
in elements 11 how can I extract a person from one photo and insert that person into another photo? I'm totally new to this and my software booklet doesn't say and I'm lost.
