does any one no if there is a photo shop filter/plug in or method i could use to create a 3d effect on an image. by this "3d effect" i mean the type of image that you would require the green and red glasses to look at it and it allows images within the page to "pop out" of it.

I tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).
In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?
camera raw filter does not show up on the filter drop list on CC. I am trying to determine why this is the case. So far everything else seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've deleted my PS preferences and restarted, and I cannot get this filter to do what is was just doing a day earlier. It doesn't matter what the foreground/background colors are, nor does it matter what the resolution of the file is. I've experimented with every variable. The filter effect changes the filled layer to a solid color of the current foreground color. No lines, dots or circles at all.
I'm trying to make lines in a filled layer, or a rasterized text layer.Adjusting the sliders has no effect at this point, but the other Gallery filters DO work, oddly enough.
I've used this filter effect many times over the years, and it just started acting wonky. This is PS CS6, on Mac OSX 10.8.5.It seems to be unpredictable or temperamental. Is there a reasonably-priced plugin that will create lines that are completely adjustable?
I have Photoshop CS4 running on a 8 gig Vista 64 bit system. When I click on Filters, there is no Extract Filter. I did a search prior to posting and saw some threads talking about not moving files, icons etc from their original folder. I am un sure if anything has been moved. However, when I click on Filters, they all seem to be there (at least not greyed out), EXCEPT for the Extract filter. Any help would be apprecited and if you let me know where the filters should reside I can make sure they are in the correct location.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUndo method, under the Edit menu. The Undo turns into Redo, and you have to use the Step Backward command if more than one undo is required. Even Ctrl Z is both an Undo and Redo if pressed consecutively. Image Ready doesn't work like this, nor do most other apps, including other Adobe programs. Just seems a strange approach, particularly as it appears only Photoshop uses this method (Although maybe it's changed since PS 7?).

I have been reading tutorials, watching some videos on techniques, etc. I have also tried several methods in performing this task. Now that I am somewhat familiar w/ the tools and concepts, I would like some assistance in what better methods may be out there to perform this task. Code:
Sometimes I want to shrink a photo and don't want to use the image size box.
I want to see on the fly what I'm getting -- so I like free transform.
So this is what I do:
I duplicate the layer so free transform works -- a hassle -- do I have to do this?
Then I Transform smaller.
Then I trash the BG layer.
But now the image is surrounded by transparacy -- so I crop this out -- another hassle.
Is there a less cumbersome way?
Looking for a way to UNWRAP or FLATTEN artwork such as a LABEL from a cylindrical shape such as a wine bottle? Something that is correct in proportions when extracted. I can kind of do something like this in photoshop using the WARP tool...but too clumsy and not accurate. I have also tried using 3D Studio Max which is my best bet, but wondering if anybody knows anything about what I am looking for.
Wonder if the 3D layers in PS CS3 may help? I used to also use the 3D transform plugin....but the UI screen is too small to work in all the time and has been removed and have to reinstall each version.
I usually have digital photos or traditional photos taken at perspective angles, and need to extract the curved artwork from the curved surface to a flat surface. I have also used Canoma, but not high enough resolution and detail for the 3D cylinder shapes.

In illustrator i have a method with the snap to point(snaps the object to nearest vertices i can then align the buttons with equal space, However the snap to layer. does not seem to be accurate in Photoshop.

Is the process just a matter of designing the logos in a vector program, importing them into a 72dpi PS file (32x32 pixels), and then optimising the file in Image Ready? (batch process?).

View 8 Replies View RelatedI watched a video created by Adobe Product Manager Brian O. Hughes titled Adobe Max: Hidden Gems in Photoshop an excellent video (see link below). I have been trying his easy method of removing power lines from an image using the pen tool and stroke path method defined as follows:
Using the pen tool create a path of the line to be removed. Making sure the brush tool is small and set at 100% opacity; click on the Spot Healing Brush making sure it is set to "content aware". Then in the path panel click "stroke path" and it removes the line.
Well I have followed these instructions several times, very simple, but it doesn't remove the line for me. I can manually shift click the start and ending point and it removes it but using the stroke command within the path panel doesn't work. I am making sure the path is active.

Do any of you have any tips or ticks for removing a drop shadow from a flattened image?
I have a jpg that I received from a client for a website I'm doing for him. He does not have the logo in any other format. The image is on a white background, which will not work with the design I'm making for him.
The image is fairly simple, it's just some text with triangles, but the text has some layer effects applied to it that I'm not sure where they came from or how to recreate them.
Any ideas on how to remove the drop shadow? I have attached part of the image. If any one has ideas on how to recreate the text effects (including the texture) I am willing to do that and recreate the logo instead of trying to edit out the drop shadow.
I'm trying to create a new design based on a grid, so I need pixel-exact text layers. For this I always use "None" as anti alias method. This is pixel-exact, but it's absolutely not beautiful. So from time to time I'd like to check how the full impression of the layout is on a modern browser that support anti aliasing. Sadly it's quite a pain to do and then again undo it for every text layer separately, so maybe there's a way to speed things up? :-)

i have a problem in Inventor 10 with the add method, which i didn't have in inventor 8, it's very puzzling. I open an assembly, add some parts (this goes without problems) then i open another assembly, change some stuff,close it again, so i'm back in the first assy and then the next add method fails.
