Paint Shop Pro :: X4 Graphite Theme
Sep 11, 2011I've just installed PSP X4 and absolutely do not like the graphite theme. Can this be changed? In X3 you could disable it from the View menu, I can't locate any similar option in X4.

3ds Max :: Graphite Modeling Tools
Jun 21, 2011The UI for max is getting bigger as newer tools become implemented. Some new tools are now in a ribbon browser called "Graphite Modeling Tools" while others are in the old Command Panel. And some old tools like Selection for editable polys are in both locations! Doesn't that seem like a waste?
What is the future User Interface for 3ds Max? I hope to see less mouse clicks, less icons and a more intuitive way of approaching a 3ds max scene.
3ds Max :: Missing Graphite Modeling Tools?
Jan 31, 2014I'm currently attending college for digital media and animation, and I have licensing for 3DS MAX 2014 educational. I noticed that at my school, they have ribbon tools divided into sections, such as Freeform> Polydraw, Paint deform, Defaults, etc.
I have absolutely nothing in my Freeform tab. I'm trying to work on enviroment using PolyDraw, but it is non-existent on my computer, nor have I found any information about how to download it. Am I to assume educational version does not come with ribbons, such as Polydraw?
I mean to say that a wide range of my Graphite Modeling Tools are not installed/missing. I have Modeling >Polygon Modeling; Object Paint> Paint Objects / Brush Settings; and Populate features. Freeform Tools & Selection are both completely empty.
3ds Max :: Graphite Modeling Tools / Viewport Background
Jun 2, 2011I have just started working at a studio who use Max 2008, however I was previously using Max 2010 in my old job and miss my graphite modelling tools. Are there any scripts or plugins available that provide something similar?

Also I have been asked to produce an illustration, so I have set it as a viewport background & locked pan and zoom. However, it does not actually lock the pan or zoom and just moves the camera which is causing a bit of frustration, as well as straining my eyes.
3ds Max Modeling :: Graphite Even / Odd Edge-selection Tools
Nov 16, 2011i used to work a lot with polyboost and since the change from polyboost to graphite modeling tools, i built my own toolbars in max.to customize the interface, i found all the tools i needed in the polytools category.one big exception is even/odd selection presets (skip, nthselect / step), which i found an extremely useful edge-selection tool. i attach a screenshot of the polyboost tools rollout, where these settings could be found formerly. at the end of this message i also attach a dicription of these settings from the polyboost work. Where to find the command to launch this toolbox. or if this feature possibly was not included in the graphite modeling tools?

selects subobject-elements that have even numbers like 2,4,12 and so on. the "skip" spinner determines how many numbers to skip between the even numbers, so a value of 1 will select elements numbered 2,4,6,8 and so on. a value of 2 will select elements numbered 2,6,10,14 and so on.

nth sel
selects the next even or odd numbered element in the model. because of the way the numbers are laid out in a basic primitive in max, this will in a way duplicate the selection further down the element numbers. the "STEP" spinner determines how big the jump is to the next selection. if the "reverse(rev)" checkbox is checked the selection will be created in the opposite way, and if the "move" checkbox is checked the selection will not be duplicated, but moved instead.
Paint Shop Pro :: Exporting Frames From Animation Shop
Dec 24, 2011Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:

Oct 28, 2011I installed PSP X4 today on a new PC with Windows 7 and noticed that it has no Animation Shop. Can I install Animation Shop to this machine? Will it work without PSP 9 or does it need certain dlls from PSP 9 ? I really want to be able to use Animation Shop again.

Sep 22, 2011I'm trying to use 3dsmax 2011 graphite freeform polydraw tools to retopologize a scanned high poly model.
Here are the steps I went through:
1-Imported the high poly mesh (.obj)
2-Converted to editable poly
3-Used ProOptimizer modifier to make the model "lighter" for my pc
4-In the polydraw tools, I selected "Draw On: Surface"
5-"picked" the high poly model
6-Selected offset 0,2
7-Created new object using the polydraw tools "New Object"
8-Froze the high poly model
9-Started retopologizing
The problem is that during the retopology process, my mesh doesn't ''stick'' to the reference high poly model... so I have to stop every now and then to adjust it which takes a lot of time.
I do know that there are a lot more specialized retopo tools like Topogun and 3Dcoat, but acquiring a new tool is not an option at the moment.

May 15, 2012I want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?

May 28, 2012Is there a way to change the theme or interface of VSx5 to a different color than black? I can barely see the buttons and functions because they are all grey on black. If I turn my monitor brightness up then I get a headache so I'm thinking there must be some way to change the color of VS itself. I've looked and can't find anything.

Jul 27, 2011I'm working on a map which contains a large number of data points. One set of points represents a number of signalized intersections. Each point has object data associated with it, including information that I want to use to theme. In order to get the theme to work correctly, I have exported the points to SDF and then connected to that file using the FDO.
Once connected to the data, I created a theme that I am using to display the points. The points are set to display as blocks (all the same block) which only vary in fill color based on one item of the object data. So far, all of that works; all blocks display as desired and in the correct color.
The problem that I am having is in trying to make a dynamic label a part of the block. What I want is to display the contents of one field from the object data as text immediately below the block. To do that, I open the block in the block editor, then add an annotative text field (mapanntext command). I set the properties that I want with regard to text size, position, rotation, etc., and set the value to be the appropriate field from the object data table. However, when I try to display these blocks in the map, the text does not show up. I've checked the basic issues (text would be large enough to see, layer is set to visible, etc.), but I can't figure why everything else displays with no text.

Jan 28, 2011I am delving into the world of Display Themes in autocad architecture for the first time. What I am trying to do is apply a display them to a viewport that colour all spaces according to the zone to which they are attached.
I have made a generic space which I have used for all rooms. I have attached those spaces to various zones (i.e. Accounting and Finance, Engineering, Facilities etc.)
I am now trying to create a display theme that will color each zone accordingly. I am trying to do this by setting each theme rule to be;
propertyset definition = zone, property = name, condition = equal to, value = Accounting and Finance (etc.), operator = and.
I do this and nothing happens to the spaces. I have tried experimenting with other property sets attached to the spaces and different properties (ie space base area etc) and it works fine. So i'm pretty sure its just a case of finding the correct zone property to work with.

Nov 19, 2013on the new keypad that comes with the newiMac (27", 3.5ghz, i7) Fn1 and 2 are set to brighten or darken the screen, but I have checked the preference box to stop this i.e. to use the Fn keys as normal rather as assigned by Apple.
Oddly my other Fn assignations work fine but fn 1+2 brighten or darken the photoshop colour theme and I can't find anywhere where it is set to do that , so can't stop itwhich is very annoying as usually I have well learned and often used actions assigned to those keys.
Mac Os 10.9. Photoshop CS6.

For example, I have a webdesign template in progress in gimp, but then open a new gimp window/file, get a logo, put the text in. Then, I cant get this image out of the gimp, even if I want to put it in the other window onto the template. Also, I cant get the image out of gimp program, and onto the desktop.

Mar 14, 2012I have created a display theme style and legend with custom theme names (i.e. SECURITY, etc.). I have changed the themes display properties to what I want (i.e. ANSI31, blue, etc.).
I have also created space styles with the same custom names (i.e. SECURITY, etc.).
When I create a space with a custom space style the display properties do not match the theme. I am hoping to find a way to have the space style display properties change when I change theme display properties. How do I get these items associated? Is it possible?
Paint Shop Pro :: X5 With Nik HDR
Oct 14, 2013Ok, either I am totally loosing it, or it just ain't happening.
I cannot get the Nik HDR module to work with my PSP X5
It's installed, it shows up in my Effects menu, but it only imports one of the photos I have opened in my edit tab.
What am I missing??
