GIMP :: How To Change Scale Of Brush Slider In 2.8
Aug 8, 2012I recently upgraded to 2.8 and I like the interface changes a lot, but I have an issue with the brush slider's default scale of 0 to 1,000. For what I am doing, I would really prefer to set the scale more like 0-25. Is there a way to do this?

Jan 30, 2014The sliders are nearly useless for me as I typically use pens and brushsizes of 1,5, 10 and 20. I need to change the size regularly and thesliders would be ideal yet my 'working' range is in a tiny little bit atthe end of the slider value.
It would be a huge gain for me to some how set the max slider value to avalue of my choice (say 50) rather than the current value of 1000
Is it possible? If not can I make a feature request (and if so how)

May 28, 2012Is there a way to change the theme or interface of VSx5 to a different color than black? I can barely see the buttons and functions because they are all grey on black. If I turn my monitor brightness up then I get a headache so I'm thinking there must be some way to change the color of VS itself. I've looked and can't find anything.

Nov 19, 2013on the new keypad that comes with the newiMac (27", 3.5ghz, i7) Fn1 and 2 are set to brighten or darken the screen, but I have checked the preference box to stop this i.e. to use the Fn keys as normal rather as assigned by Apple.

Oddly my other Fn assignations work fine but fn 1+2 brighten or darken the photoshop colour theme and I can't find anywhere where it is set to do that , so can't stop itwhich is very annoying as usually I have well learned and often used actions assigned to those keys.

Apr 9, 2012I make a text logo from a gimp theme, but cannot move it to another seperate gimp file/ image that is open. For example, I have a webdesign template in progress in gimp, but then open a new gimp window/file, get a logo, put the text in. Then, I cant get this image out of the gimp, even if I want to put it in the other window onto the template. Also, I cant get the image out of gimp program, and onto the desktop.

I want gif, jegp etc. I have just realize that when I created a new documents I might put it in the grayscale mode only. May 16, 2013I have been trying to convert images to appear lijke B&W pen&ink drawings. I followed some instructions found on You Tube - (1) Duplicate Layer (2) Colour Dodeg (3) Invert (4) Gussian Blur and (5) Reduce Saturation.... However, when a layer is in "Colour Dodge" and I slide the saturation to -100, it appears to contain colour. Even though the opacity of that layer is 100%, the layer below seems to show through. The only way I can get it to go B&W is by also changing the layer below to B&W (or no saturation).

GIMP :: Brush Opacity Slider Location In 2.8
Nov 6, 2012I completely reinstalled GIMP 2.8 and put Andrew's Script (found here: URL....) into "C/USER/ADMIN/GIMP 2.8/SCRIPTS" (I'm stuck with Windows Vista Home Premium) running on an Acer laptop. Now the "Opacity" and "Brush Size" sliders have shown up where they're supposed to have been on the first install.
My middle mouse wheel used to control brush size - I recently reinstalled my updated Logitech mouse drivers and I'll bet if I go to "Setpoint" in my system tray, I'll be able to configure the mouse wheel from there. That's where I had to go in order to fix the tilt control in Google Earth after I updated the mouse drivers.
I just installed GIMP 2.8, with Andrew's GIMP Script FU and now I can't find the brush opacity slider anywhere (EDIT: Or the brush/eraser/pencil etc SIZE slider - there also appears to be no way to set my middle mouse wheel as the controller for the brush size). I've used GIMP for awhile and I know how to move around but I'm not very good with it.

so ive been doing alot of pixel work... and i HATE how the brush size slider, if i click in the middle of the sizer bar slider thing... its like 500 pixels....
is there a way to adjust the range of this bar? in preferences or something?? i cant find it..
it is SOO annoying and would speed my workflow by like 200%
i want the slider to be like 1px - 50px .... not 1px to 1000px .... its insane... and then when i click up and down arrows it goes by .01

GIMP :: Visible Opacity Doesn't Follow Slider Full Range
Jul 8, 2012when I exercise the opacity slider for an active layer I can see the full range of opacity follow the setting. Somehow I've gotten this v2.6 on a Linux box into a mode where the visible opacity doesn't follow the slider full range. Instead it is all or nothing. At 50% or less opacity the layer is entirely transparent and at 50.1% or more it is entirely opaque.

Jul 27, 2011I'm working on a map which contains a large number of data points. Â One set of points represents a number of signalized intersections. Â Each point has object data associated with it, including information that I want to use to theme. Â In order to get the theme to work correctly, I have exported the points to SDF and then connected to that file using the FDO. Â
Once connected to the data, I created a theme that I am using to display the points. Â The points are set to display as blocks (all the same block) which only vary in fill color based on one item of the object data. Â So far, all of that works; all blocks display as desired and in the correct color. Â
The problem that I am having is in trying to make a dynamic label a part of the block. Â What I want is to display the contents of one field from the object data as text immediately below the block. Â To do that, I open the block in the block editor, then add an annotative text field (mapanntext command). Â I set the properties that I want with regard to text size, position, rotation, etc., and set the value to be the appropriate field from the object data table. Â However, when I try to display these blocks in the map, the text does not show up. Â I've checked the basic issues (text would be large enough to see, layer is set to visible, etc.), but I can't figure why everything else displays with no text.

Jan 28, 2011I am delving into the world of Display Themes in autocad architecture for the first time. What I am trying to do is apply a display them to a viewport that colour all spaces according to the zone to which they are attached.
I have made a generic space which I have used for all rooms. I have attached those spaces to various zones (i.e. Accounting and Finance, Engineering, Facilities etc.)
I am now trying to create a display theme that will color each zone accordingly. I am trying to do this by setting each theme rule to be;
propertyset definition = zone, property = name, condition = equal to, value = Accounting and Finance (etc.), operator = and.
I do this and nothing happens to the spaces. I have tried experimenting with other property sets attached to the spaces and different properties (ie space base area etc) and it works fine. So i'm pretty sure its just a case of finding the correct zone property to work with.
