When editing some images in LR4 the sliders in Basic are:
   Â
    Exposure
    Recovery
    Fill Light
    BlacksÂ
    Brightness
    Contrast
Â
With other images the sliders are:
Â
    Exposure
    Contrast
     Highlights
    Shadows
    Whites
    Blacks
Â
how to I set the app to use the second set of sliders?
I'm using macs running mountain lion. I've updated two computers to Lightroom 4.2. One shows the new form for the basic panel of the develop module, e.g., including the brightness slider. The other installation reverted to the Lightroom 3 panel, and I can't find a preference that affects this.
How do I turn on and off the Baisc Control Panel ( color Temp, exposure, contrasts, shadow, Higlight, white, blacks, etc)? Somehow I have managed to turn it off, so it is not in the Right hand side panel under the Histogram. Insteasd the first Panel is TONE CURVE  How to turn the Basic Panel back on?
I recenlty upgraded from Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 5.3 with no problems. However, now after 3 weeks of use, my entire 'basic' panel in Develop has disappeared. I no longer have Wb tool, or any sliders for temp, tint, exposure, black, white, shadows, clarity, etc. If I am going to lose a panel, I don't want it to be this one!
I was editing a photo in Lightroom 5 the other day, and I thought I hit something, but all of a sudden the basic panel was missing. Suggestion was to right click on one of the panels and it should have an option that says basic, in order to get the basic panel back. That is what I did, but what it does is just opens and closes the panels. I don't know how to get my basic panel back.
I'm using LR5. Somehow my BASIC panel has disappeared in the DEVELOP module. The only way I can make adjustments now in brightness, etc is using the Tone Curve. How can I get my BASIC panel back?
I used to be able to hold down the Shift key and move all the sliders in the Color panel at the same time so that I could get a tint of the color I was working with. Now that doesn't seem to work. I've tried the Shift key, the Command key, the Option key and the Control key but nothing works. Is there still a way to move all the sliders at once so they maintain their relative positions? I'm working with the RGB Color panel window. Â Photoshop CS6, Mac OS 10.6.8, iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Using the publish feature, I published some files to a hard drive using a publish service. Some of the files I had renamed from the default camera name convention to my own name convention. Others I had not changed the name from the default. After working on the original files, I renamed the files that had not been renamed, and then I republished them. I was expecting the republished files to have their new name, but they did not - they had the old names. I've tried republishing several times. I deleted the republished version of the file and then republished and it still came back with the old file name.  What in blue blazes is going on here? How can I get the names of the published files to match the names of the files in Lightroom?
Example: New card, 100 photos taken, imported w/ name changes to LR catalog, all is well. Then, another 100 photos taken, and when import attempted, the prog "sees" 200 photos as new, not the actual 100 new photos on the card. Yes, the bottom is checked to avoid duplicates.
I recently calibrated my monitor with Spyder 4 express and the panels turned green. I am using windows 7. I reinstalled Lightroom but panels are still green.Â
How can I change the contrast and.or color s on the front Panel to make it easier to see the various menus. I have recently started to loose some of my sight and the opening Panel is now difficult to read / work through. Is it possible to show the various editing options etc. as white on black rather than white on grey ?
If LR 5 included the ability to undo a specific change fro the history panel? This ? was asked in 2007, undoing "#3 out of 50". At present, would have to CTRL Z all the way back OR manually adjust all slider bars.
I accidentally included a file rename when I just imported a batch of several hundred pictures. I violated a rule that I teach my own Lightroom students, and that is to look carefully at the import panel choices before proceeding. Â How can I correct this so that the files are named as they originally were? I know how to easily fix the filenames in Windows (using a tool called BulkRename, for example), but then I'd have to "find" each image one-by-one and correctly point to the renamed version. I tried selecting all the images and then using F2 to rename, but none of the templates allow deleting a portion of the filename. Â P.S. Here is an example of what I mean: Â ON CARD: IMG_0001.NEF ... IMG_0300.NEF Â WHAT I RENAMED TO ACCIDENTALLY:
IMG_0001 {shot by John Doe}.NEF ... IMG_0300 {shot by John Doe}.NEF
want to a boder for each grid but the Grayscale slider prevails and all of the others sliders are off. I go to the color palette and click at the top right of the palette and a menu appears the with options like grayscale sliders, RGB Sliders, HSB slider, CMYK Sliders, Lab sliders, and HTML sliders the online one on is the Grayscale sliders after that all of them are off The layer menu is off completely, and some other features in the photoshop cs3, and when I go and save the file the GIF, JEGP and all other common formats are off, I can't save the file on those formats because psp, photoshop pdf and other that I am not interested on. I want gif, jegp etc. I have just realize that when I created a new documents I might put it in the grayscale mode only. What do you think about it guys I want to be able to apply boders and save it in gif, jepg and other common format
I have been trying to convert images to appear lijke B&W pen&ink drawings. I followed some instructions found on You Tube - (1) Duplicate Layer (2) Colour Dodeg (3) Invert (4) Gussian Blur and (5) Reduce Saturation.... However, when a layer is in "Colour Dodge" and I slide the saturation to -100, it appears to contain colour. Even though the opacity of that layer is 100%, the layer below seems to show through. The only way I can get it to go B&W is by also changing the layer below to B&W (or no saturation).
I have a file that is 31gb, have attempted to render to Blu-Ray 4 times. It keeps stalling at 6% - no change in the slider bar for the last hour, currently at hour 06:39 and counting.
I recently upgraded to 2.8 and I like the interface changes a lot, but I have an issue with the brush slider's default scale of 0 to 1,000. For what I am doing, I would really prefer to set the scale more like 0-25. Is there a way to do this?
The sliders are nearly useless for me as I typically use pens and brushsizes of 1,5, 10 and 20. I need to change the size regularly and thesliders would be ideal yet my 'working' range is in a tiny little bit atthe end of the slider value.
It would be a huge gain for me to some how set the max slider value to avalue of my choice (say 50) rather than the current value of 1000
Is it possible? If not can I make a feature request (and if so how)
I'm new to scripting and i want to make a facial controller panel. but the case is when i want to change the morpher value by slider inside maxscript "" i don't know how to do that ""
My curves layer sliders seem to have been reversed. I would like the curves layer to show the black point slider on the left and the white point slider on the right.
I'm trying to determine how to change the color of an object based upon a custom attribute slider. It would only need to change between 2 colors. I know this can be done by simply autokeying but using a slider would be more useful for my situation.
Is there a way to do this? I've been playing with wiring a simple cube's material but am not sure how to do this.
