View 1 RepliesIs there any way to edit colors in Paint.net so that I would have only solid colors in the image? I would like to get rid of sort of "semi colors/pixels" (see border between red and green color). I would like to have all the borders between colors like the border between blue and grey color where there is only solid colors present.
View 3 Replies View Relatedjust downloaded Paint.net a week ago. I am trying to convert a color logo from it's original design to a white log over a solid background, like the image attached. I need the solid background separate from the logo so I can change the color.

If there's a way to change the tool that Paint.net opens with to be something besides the paintbrush. My first few actions after opening the program are, invariably:
1. try to make a selection.
2. undo the black line I've just put through the middle of whatever photo I was editing.
3. choose the rectangle select tool.
Would LOVE an option to be able to specify the "on launch" default tool, and I can imagine others would like this as well.
I post a picture of the coins and needt to cut around edges... usually wand does get it all and it is time consuming to finish it..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
I'm trying to do some pixel art, and whenever I use a tool that isn't just the pencil tool, it makes its own weird shading along my selection. Like, if I make a diagonal line with black, fills in random gray above and below the line between the two points I click. Or if I make a non filled circle, it fills in shading around the edges. All this is with one pixel thickness How do I just make it the color I've picked from the color picker without any extra color interpolations along the way?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to alter the colour of the attached image to a gradient fill from blue to green (hex 283E90 to 9FCF6F)
The problem is every time I do this the image loses its sharpness (using magic wand, highlighting the area and filling a gradient and other similar techniques)
I just learned how to remove an object from the pic. Now this is my question.............i have a pic of a flower and i removed the background. I want to put the pic. on a solid white background. How to do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have seen photos where the background is black. Is it possible to do this with Photo Pro X3 Ultimate? If so, how? I'm retired (read as "older" and not as sharp as a younger person) and new at digital photography.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAlright here's the problem, after reading extensively and watching many videos, I finally learned how to crop and layer , which is ridiculously easy! But now I can't get the line/curve tool to make solid connections.
Green Circle: Where the lines meet end to end
Red Circle: Where the lines overlap
Blue Circle: Where I crossed lines perpendicularly in example of what's going wrong.
I'm making some buttons for a game I'm making. The game has several themes you can switch to. I tried to make a gray button, and then add the theme gradient/image on top, but the semi-transparent parts of the button became solid.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am fairly new to Illustrator. I am trying to trace an image using the brush tool. I can get some lines in and for some reason the brush tool begins to revert to fill none effectively just making invisible lines. I have the parent image on its separate layer and the line art on another layer. Layers are unlocked. When I use the brush it will look as if it is deleting/erasing what is shown on both layers. The brush tool is effectively erasing what is there already instead of drawing.
I tried searching for a couple days now and the best I could find is this: [URL] ...
I tried everything mentioned in the thread and it still isn't working. In fact I think the OP in that thread never really solved his issue too. I can barely even get my line art down.
I'm exporting Tiff Prophoto files from Lightroom into PSPX4 for further processing. The images are 1 to 2 stops under exposed when compared to Lightroom's image.I have selected PSPX4 color profile to match LR export color space.
I have tried exporting the Tiffs as sRGB and adode1998 and still the images are under exposed. I have little knowledge about color management and have searched around the web for possible answers, but no luck.
For family history purposes, wish to improve the legibility of some hand written 1930 telegrams; the ink has faded with time so I want to change its colour to black. The form printing has not faded.
The user guide draws attention to the fact that the color selected for replacement must be in the image. Using the Dropper tool with sample size 1 pixel I position the dropper where I want it, see the color in the preview window, then right-click and the selected color appears in the background window on the Materials panel. So far, so good. I then place the Dropper tool over black in the swatch on the Materials panel, click and black appears in the Foreground window of the Materials panel. I think I'm set.
When I select the Color Replacer tool the background window immediately reverts to another color, usually white.Incidentally, the user guide suggests you read up on selecting colors with the Dropper; when you do this you learn that its OK to pick colors from the Materials panel.
Is there a way to change the color of the Vignette to match the page background color. It appears to that only Black is available at this time.
Is there a transparent vignette available anywhere .
Question #1.
Were can I change the "color saturation" to use for my "color changer"?
Question #2.
When using "point-to-point" or "edge seeker", is there a way to go back one or two steps, without having to start all over again?
I am a new user to paint.net, because the tool I used for complex image manipulation does not run on the OS of my new machine. Although I could easily purchase the newest version, I needed work on some pictures now. Paint.net was easily available and does most of the thins I need at the moment. In addition, it is officially supported at my work place, so it's a good idea to learn how to use it.
Paint.net has some great features and a cute UI, but there are some issues I would like to see improved. The one at the top of my list is the font preview. I am doing some text on a number of pictures and want to check out some fonts. Unfortunately I can't change the sample text in the font list (at least I do not know how).
However, meanwhile I found a even better function (actually the way I would like to see it). When the font list is open, I can scroll through the list and the text will instantly updated. Cool.
Great thing would be to move the color picker out from the tool box into the color selection, so that it would be always available. Also it would be useful to not only pick one pixel sometimes but the average of a greater area.
How do I outline an image so I can change the background color without changing the image color ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way with 3.5.8 to name the color inside the palette so the selected color name will display somewhere in the palette (if a name exists)? If not, then as a feature request for version 4; when the user hovers over the color with their mouse cursor, a small pop up will display at the cursor tip with the color name listed in a palette file comment. This feature would allow for quick color selection by name for projects that are color name specific/customer color specific. The current process of referencing a palette text file RGB code list with commented description, then entering the required RGB codes for each color needed can be a bit time consuming for larger projects.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI scanned a file in my scanner, it is jpg. The file opens fine in Gimp 2.8.2. I added a transparent layer but when I start to paint on it, the only color Gimp will let me use is black. I can change the foreground and background to any color I want, and it still draws black. I created a white layer, same problem. If I draw on the original file layer, it does the same thing. I already saved the file as an xcf file.
If I open a fresh file, the color works fine, it seems to be just this one file. What have I done to this file and how can I fix it? I tried to attach the file, but it looks like it did not work, I don't know.

Current color working space: AdobeRGB1998.icc.
I want to take HDR photo. I have 3 pictures JPG in AdobeRGB1998. When I giving HDR/MERGE EXPOSURE program automatically changing color profile of my pictures from AdobeRGB for sRGB. Why does it happen?
Just updated from X3 to X4. Spent an hour looking for the workspace color so I could get rid of the huge graphite box. Updated to SP1, found this forum, saw how to change the color in the files menu, and was very disappointed that the menu backgrounds changed, but not the BIG GRAPHITE BOX IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN!!
X3 gave us control of the colors. X4 is a big disappointment.what about the big graphite elephant in the room, the workspace?
When I try to print, the print placement dialogue box shows the image in greyscale, and when I click the options tab, the options to print color and CMYK separations are greyed out. Going ahead to print gives me a B&W print. The same file prints perfectly in color in PSP X3. What setting I need to tweak?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI understand many of the aspects of color management: gamut, color space, profiles, calibration, and most of the accompanying pieces. The problem is that I don't understand the inter-relationships of the various steps between taking a photo and printing it.
My equipment is not wonderful. If I were serious, I would have spent 10x what I did; but I'm not a pro. I'll settle for the best I can squeeze out of it. My goal, at this point, is to get my prints to look like what's on the screen.
For software I am using PSP X6 and Windows 8.1.
The photos I get come from various sources. As I understand it, those images (primarily JPEG if they come from a camera, presumably RAW if I scan directly into PSP) should have the profile of the capturing device embedded in them. Is that correct?
In the past I've been told that I should always use the color management in my editing application, rather than whatever Windows makes available. Is that still true? So far as I can tell, there is no way to turn off Windows Color Management (WCS).
You can turn off color management in PSP. There is a checkbox for it.I've been reading that I should set my PSP color working space to sRGB. Is that turned on and off by the color management checkbox? Assuming I have a profile for my capture device (camera or scanner), should I use that profile instead?
I have factory supplied profiles for both my monitor and my printer. Supposedly the printer will automatically select one of its various profiles based upon the paper I use, but that's a setting in WCS. (I can force a particular profile if I want.) In PSP's color management, I have to pick the profile manually.
Should I turn off color management in PSP, and set everything up in WCS? WCS has a setting for viewing conditions. The default is "WCS profile for sRGB viewing conditions", the alternative is "WCS profile for ICC viewing conditions". Does that mean that I could (or should) get an ICC profile based upon my work area's lighting, etc.
