View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to create a transparent text on a solid color background, and I need text transparency to go all the way to through the image (i.e. do not show the solid color background). I have the transparent background layer, the solid rectangle layer that occupies part of the image, and the text layer (with text element) on the top of the solid rectangle layer. How do I make text transparency to go all the way through? Here is a similar example for Photoshop CS, only in my case, the background layer is transparent (i.e. there is no picture): URL... Basically, I need to make the letters see through, so they show the background color on which the image will be placed. Is it possible to do in Photoshop Elements? I'm using version 9 on Windows 7.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an image that has a white background. I want to change this background to be transparent.
I can of course select everything around the image and delete it, but the pixels near the edge are a combination of a colour and the background colour. I want to be able to change these to the colour semi transparent (ie remove the background colour portion of the pixel). Is there some easy way to do this?
How can I change the color of the background in an image from white to transparent?
I am using PSP v7.04
I have a image that has everything on the background layer. I want to delete some text and replace them with different text. But when i use the selection tool to delete the text, i just get a white/black check box area. How do i delete a portion of the picture and replace it with white blank space?
Oh and how do i adjust the size of the text box when inserting new text?
I'm trying to make an image I have which has a solid background (and a few other details inside it) transparent? so I can still see behind the graphics in the image yet the background at the same time... I know I've seen it before where the image sort of floats above the background... But I don't know how to accomplish this in Photoshop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a solid green rectangle.
I would like to create several similar green rectangles at various levels of transparency that will perfectly match the color of the solid green rectangle. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have tried matching it by eye, and can get very close:
the original solid green rectangle is R:135 G: 174 B: 155
after making a copy of the solid green rectangle, say, 90% transparent, I can play with Hue/Saturation to get around R:136 G:175 B: 154, according to the eyedropper. But I don't see any way of fine tuning the RGB/HSB/etc. absolute values in the transparent version.
Is there a way to overlay a transparent background png image on a solid or mesh that already has a material assigned? i.e. a chrome object with a decal applied. I have tried creating a new material using my png file as the image but have not been able to overlay it on an object where I want to see the material underneath.

I am trying to delete an object background to create a gif of an object (the object in this case is a broken cell phone). Everything appears to be gone BUT...there are these flowing blue items around the object. When I export the file to gif...those items are still attached to the object.
I have used photo shop and have not had any issue removing a background around an object.
I have a .jpg where I am trying to replace the background color. I choose a sage green in the replacement color picker, and it shows properly in the dialog box, but in the actual picture I get a dark gray instead of sage green. I checked Image>Mode and it is set to RGB color. How can I get the color I want?
View 11 Replies View RelatedIn other words, I have a green patterned background, and I want to add a transparent triangle (which should then be the green background by making it transparent) over a white layer. To sum it up, I want the triangle to be filled in with the green patterned background over the white layer. How do I do this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of designing a clear label for my aftershave and would like to have the text on a solid color panel be transparent so that the liquid is visible. I would also like to have an outline (Line) tracing the font. I've been doing some internet searches for "punched out" and "cutout" text and the like but this process is using two solid color layers.
As it stands now, I have a transparent background, the panel as one layer, and the text as another layer on top of the panel.
I came across a process for Illustrator but was hoping that it could be done in Photoshop as well since I have everything already setup in PS. I did try the method described for Illustrator but I couldn't get it to work in PS...not throwing out the high percentage of operator error on this one.

I have been trying how to figure out how to make the center if an object transparent with color gradually appearing on the borders. The transarency tool insists on starting with a solid color in the center. If using a square as an example, how do I make the center transparent with the edges graduating to a solid color?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an image with a black background and an image in various shades of grey. I would like to, i guess, "invert it" in such a way that black becomes white, and the various shades of gray become transparent. Basically I want to have the following:
Black -> White with 100% opacity - totally white
Grey with 10% black -> White with 90% opacity - white with a bit of transparency
Grey with 70% black -> White with 30% opacity - white with a lot of transparency
White -> White with 0% opacity - completely transparent
How can I achieve this?
I wanted to combine two images one needs to be fit to the scale of the background image. So basically I followed the instructions.
Open up your background layer which was 800x600 landscape photo.
Then I imported my other image which was 600x800 portrait photo too. Layers -Import from file. I resized it then copied into a new layer. That was fine.
The problem is as soon as the new image is imported, the background image changes so that it only takes up half of the canvas. So now I've got a white area for half of the canvas. I can't seem to change this.
I have an image with a "rainbow" (a gradient of 7 colors).
