Ok this is a tutorial on how to make "chamelion" (colour flip) paint in photoshop
Ok lets start!
Once you have chopped you car and your happy with the overall look of the car its time to move to the paint!
1.) make sure your layers are all flatend
2.) Now go to the layers and right click the backround and go down to "duplicate layer..." and click it and then press ok and repeat this about 5 times so you have 5 "backround layers"
3.) once you have done that select the very top layer
4.)Now you have selected the very top layer go to Image/ adjust/ hue saturation then up the verry top of the box that opens click the scrol thing. and becuase the car im doing is blue i select "blues", then using the sliders select a colour that looks real and not over saturated. Then once you are happy with the colour click OK.
5.)Now that your happy with the coluor select the brush tool and make it about 100 pixels (but depends on the size of the picture you are working on) Then turn down the "flow" of the brush like shown below.
Now still on the very top layer rub the parts of the picture you DONT want in the colour you have selected
6.) Once you are happy select the layer down from the one you were just working on it will be most likely be called "backround copy 4"
7.)Now repeat what you have go to Image/adjust/ hue saturation and select blues again and use the sliders until you are happy with the colour and repeat this until your happy with the colours! you should get somthing like this: ....

With video games like Auto Modellista, and XIII (thirteen) the technique of cell shading is all the rage. Below are two tutorials I did not write, and one that I did write. I would like some feedback/ comments on the one that I did write. I posted up the two other ones because most of the people I talk to have either seen them, or know of those tutorials and have been using them as a guide. My way is not exactly cell shading just because I have been doing it so long that I have continually gotten more and more advanced until they look like airbrushed pictures. Either way, here are the tutorials.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk I am interested in changing the colors of cars. I.E. I have a 57 Chevy that I am not sure what color I want to paint and would like to use photoshop to help me decide. The only thing I can do is paint it with a flat color I would like to change it right from the actually pic. I can change the hue/ saturation but that also changes the background. Am I supposed to create a layer for the car itself? It seems that when I do that it doesn't do the same color for all of the body. The car right now has different color paint in the jpeg I am using. I could understand if it was just one color that would be easy but I can't seem to do it for multipule colors. But I have seen where guys that have the same color for one particuliar thing be changed for all.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis was my very first photoshop project that i did about 5 or 6 months ago... My question in general though is, whats the best way to do a color change? i usually just select the entire body, and change the color balance, but i know there is a better way to make it look more realistic...
how would you do the chameleon paint smoothly? Where on different curves of the car it appears a different color
I was out taking pics today and got one of a beautiful shelby cobra.
It's a still shot and I'm planning to make it look like it's in motion(panning effect, with blurred background).
I though it would look good with racing numbers and logos.
Does anyone no how to put a flat logo on a curved or contoured surface(make it look like it was really painted on the car)?
And would there be any copyright or trademark problem doing this?
II can't get down is color changing and wheel chops. I can do both but they dont look very good. So, I was wondering if anyone could post their own tutorial per say, on how you guys select and then what you do to get the colors just right and looking good, and the same for wheel chops if you would.
Im specifically trying to go from a darker color. Like red or black to a brighter color like yellow or orange.
I have PSPProX5. There is a very long list of tags under the Collections tab. The tag list came with the program, I didn't add them. I'm trying to delete some of these tags that I'm sure I will never use. To delete (per instructions), I right click on a tag, and click on 'delete.' Problem is, the tag deletes for only a short time, and then reappears. I had the same problem with PSPProx4, and finally just quit trying to delete some of that long list of tags. I would like to get my tags list the way I want it though. Is there anything I can do to delete tags and have them stay deleted?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs I observed Paint Shop Pro X2 creates (under Win 7) in

a big file
ImageDB.db
I guess it contains meta information about previous edited pictures. Can I prevent in PSP creation?
Can I simply delete it? Will it be re-created on-demand?
Sometimes after editing jpeg files in PaintShop Pro X5, attempting to save them raises an error and they can only be saved to a different file name. After closing out of PSP, the original file cannot be deleted in Windows Explorer. Shift-Delete removes the file from the list momentarily, but a refresh brings it back. Normal delete (to Recycle Bin) raises an error that admin authority is required, but clicking to proceed fails. Starting Windows Explorer as administrator does not resolve the problem. Process Explorer doesn't show PSP or any component of it that I recognize still running (and perhaps having exclusive control of the file). After a reboot, the file can be deleted. I have observed this problem on both machines where the software is loaded and registered. Both machines are malware-free. Both are running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. Could very well be a Windows problem, but I don't have a similar problem with files that are created or modified with any other application.

View 4 Replies View RelatedTo reduce file size when working with 100+ layers, can I delete multiple invisible layers before saving?
If not, is there a plug-in for this procedure? For a multi-page tutorial with over 100 layers, pdn is slow when opening or saving the file. I would like to save each page of the tutorial as a separate .pdn file for faster loading/editing/saving. Unfortunately, to save each individual page, I must delete many layers one-at-a-time which is very time consuming.
I need to delete all invisible layers before saving, to save each page separately and keep the original multi-page intact for backup until all individual pages are saved.

I am trying create an illustration in paint.net that will later become a button in another program that an end user will click on. This button needs to be the shape of a circle. Unfortunately, when the circle button has a square transparent background, the user can also click on the background to trigger the action. I dont want that to be an option, so I am trying to delete the transparent background so that all I have is the circle image. Is this possible to do?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently installed this pack, it seemed too much for me and lagged Paint.net a lot. So I decided to delete it. I didn't know how to, so I just re-installed Paint.net, and then came back on it, and all of the effects are still there. I tried manually going into the Effects folder to delete them, but it just pops up saying I don't have permission to delete that file.I'm stuck with this and can't get back to normal Paint.net.

I have created a few graphics for my web site using transparent background layers. On my PC, when I try to Save For Web the background always goes white. On my Laptop my images are saving with a transparent background. In both cases I am attempting to save as a .GIF. The transparency box is checked when saving.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently converted from PC to Mac; downloaded and installed LR4, and it quickly recognized my photos and photo folder structure. Also, apparently each individual keyword has been imported. However, 3 problems:
1. no photos have keywords assigned to them
2. the keyword nested structure (keywords within other keywords) did not transfer, so they are all listed alphabetically
3. I don't see any history on the edited photos, so am not sure if I have originals (unedited) or edited. If I have edited photos, can I go back and re-edit (non-destructive editing in LR)?
I am using LR5 on one computer but have all my photos and the Lightroom catalog folder & files on an external hard disk. When I run LR5 on a second computer using the same files on the EHD most things seem to be working fine, the 1:1 previews, user presets, etc. But there are a number of items in Preferences and View options that don't have the settings I made when using the other computer. I was under the impression all the LR5 settings and preferences were stored in the Lightroom folder and would therefore "transfer" to a second computer assuming I use the same LR catalog and Lightroom folder.
