Ok I am interested in changing the colors of cars. I.E. I have a 57 Chevy that I am not sure what color I want to paint and would like to use photoshop to help me decide. The only thing I can do is paint it with a flat color I would like to change it right from the actually pic. I can change the hue/ saturation but that also changes the background. Am I supposed to create a layer for the car itself? It seems that when I do that it doesn't do the same color for all of the body. The car right now has different color paint in the jpeg I am using. I could understand if it was just one color that would be easy but I can't seem to do it for multipule colors. But I have seen where guys that have the same color for one particuliar thing be changed for all.
This was my very first photoshop project that i did about 5 or 6 months ago... My question in general though is, whats the best way to do a color change? i usually just select the entire body, and change the color balance, but i know there is a better way to make it look more realistic...
how would you do the chameleon paint smoothly? Where on different curves of the car it appears a different color
We are working with a company that will be sending us DWG files. They do not use the same layer colors as us and I am trying to find a lisp that would allow me to set up a table with the layer names and the color I want them to be so that I can quickly change all the layers to our companys color standards.
Example:
Layer 1 = Color 1 Layer 2 = Color 15 Layer 3 = Color 10 Etc.
I don't know a lot about lisp but I figure if I could find a lisp that did this I could plug in my layer/color assignments and it would work.
With video games like Auto Modellista, and XIII (thirteen) the technique of cell shading is all the rage. Below are two tutorials I did not write, and one that I did write. I would like some feedback/ comments on the one that I did write. I posted up the two other ones because most of the people I talk to have either seen them, or know of those tutorials and have been using them as a guide. My way is not exactly cell shading just because I have been doing it so long that I have continually gotten more and more advanced until they look like airbrushed pictures. Either way, here are the tutorials.
Ok this is a tutorial on how to make "chamelion" (colour flip) paint in photoshop
Ok lets start!
Once you have chopped you car and your happy with the overall look of the car its time to move to the paint!
1.) make sure your layers are all flatend
2.) Now go to the layers and right click the backround and go down to "duplicate layer..." and click it and then press ok and repeat this about 5 times so you have 5 "backround layers"
3.) once you have done that select the very top layer
4.)Now you have selected the very top layer go to Image/ adjust/ hue saturation then up the verry top of the box that opens click the scrol thing. and becuase the car im doing is blue i select "blues", then using the sliders select a colour that looks real and not over saturated. Then once you are happy with the colour click OK.
5.)Now that your happy with the coluor select the brush tool and make it about 100 pixels (but depends on the size of the picture you are working on) Then turn down the "flow" of the brush like shown below.
Now still on the very top layer rub the parts of the picture you DONT want in the colour you have selected
6.) Once you are happy select the layer down from the one you were just working on it will be most likely be called "backround copy 4"
7.)Now repeat what you have go to Image/adjust/ hue saturation and select blues again and use the sliders until you are happy with the colour and repeat this until your happy with the colours! you should get somthing like this: ....
II can't get down is color changing and wheel chops. I can do both but they dont look very good. So, I was wondering if anyone could post their own tutorial per say, on how you guys select and then what you do to get the colors just right and looking good, and the same for wheel chops if you would.
Im specifically trying to go from a darker color. Like red or black to a brighter color like yellow or orange.
It started yesterday evening. i had been working all day. today can't use CS6 PS at all as my job is painting an illustration. Where do I begin to sort this out? I did install Sugar Sync yesterday as per client request.
I have seen many a picture where it has been changed to black and white and only one chosen colour stays the same. Or sometimes it can be changed. In the photo below she was originally in normal colour and the bikini was blue. I would really love to do this with some shots of my wife but cant get the colour to work.
I'm working on an online store for flamenco products. We have wide range of dresses and shoes and it's almost impossible to get good quality photos for all of them.
My main concern is that I would like to present all different color options in decent quality imagery. I was thinking of taking the best image for each and simply photo shopping the colors.
Seeing that I will have to do a lot of color options for a lot of dresses and shoes. Moderately quick, decent quality and adaptable to bulk photo shopping.
Basically meaning that I cannot put the care and detail I would if I just photo shopped a single image, I don't need high res pixel perfect quality. It should just look decent and I should be able to do it in a moderate amount of time.
I have a picture with large area of color: #fffdfd, when I save it for web (jpg) this color is changed to #fefcfd (in JPG).
I just can not save as JPG with #fffdfd. (was trying uncheck convert to sRGB, do not embed color profile - always #fffdfd changes to #fefcfd when save for web)
However, color #fefcfd when save for web , does not change.
Why some colors change and some not? Is it a bug ?
I need to change the color of head for this man from silver to blue (but not too blue, something to fit with header). But to maintain the overflow effect. (if possible)
Is it possible to change the background color of a completed image? I've created a minimal version of the Fire image for use on my jewelry site. The background color is clearly wrong. I still have the original PSD file that I created. How do I change the color so as to harmonize with the rest of the site?
I have a transparent logo. I've conferted it to RGB and tried using fill (it's primarily a single color except for some fading at the edges) but the results were not 100%. Rather than using Fill and leaving some scruff around the edges, can I just tell it to change ALL image bigs to a single color? How?
I think I understand what View> Proof Setup does in Photoshop. It shows you a preview of what the image will look like with the chosen color space. But here is what I dont get. With an image open choose View>Proof Setup and then "Internet Standard RGB (sRGB)". Now close the image and reopen it. Choose View>ProofSetup again. Notice that "Internet Standard RGB (sRGB)" is already selected. Now, re-select the color space again and when you do pay very close attention to the image. Does it change colors? Mine does and that is what I am questioning. Why does it do that?
When I reselect the color space after opening the file, it changes color. Of course, if I select a different color space than what was selected when I open the file, it changes. I expect that.
A pop up message says Could not complete your request due to a program error. I am using the paintbrush tool, 150 soft round brush size. It will not allow me to change foreground and background colors or paint. What can I do?
I need to change the channels of about 10 layers at the same time, without loosing their colour relation to each other (so basically what you do with the image adjustments)...
But I need to limit it to a couple of layers in stead of the entire pic.. Ive tried adjustment layers, but they seem to applie to all the layers below them.. im probably applying it the wrong way right?
Every time I've tried to change the foreground or background colors in PSCS6 it says "Could not complete your request because of a program error" What can I do?
when i reopen a doc with vector shapes on cs6 the shapes that have a gradient change the colors to a gradient made of the foreground and background colors that i had set in that moment:( like all the gradients turn grayscale, usually or any other 2 color combination i had. i dont want to rasterize or convert to smart objects the vector shapes.
I bought this vector graphic on istockphoto and i cant figure out how to change the colors! When i attempt to change the colors of the end circles it just makes it a solid color...
I was making a bussines card, colors in corel looks perfect, exported to pdf file colors stays the same, but when i try to print all colors are off. Deep purple turns pink and black fading objects tuns into lines. Furthermore, when I use 'collect for output' pdf preset 'prepress' colors are off to and when I try to use 'current proof settings' corel just shuts down.
colors in corel
colors in pdf after 'colect for output'
and when I print it, colors are way more off, you can't even see the red, because all purple turns pink.
