I need to apply filters to hundreds of images at once. Is there some type of Batch plugin to do this? I found the Bulk Image Processor but this does not apply filters, at least as far as I can see.

There are 71 icons and it will be time consuming to do it manually so I wanted to see if there was a way to turn all images to a grey state in one go?

For example, if I run the following effects I have to apply it to each image one effect at a time and repeat for each image that I want the exact same effects applied but would prefer to do it all in one go
Blur/(GPU) Gaussian Blur
Noise/Reduce Noise
Photo/Sharpen+
I use these to clean up the moire from scans and reduce dust/dirt then apply a mild sharpen effect to bring back the now softenend image back up slightly. Being able to have presets would be a real bonus for quick clean ups, of digital camera images or camera phone images
I found it by spending a bit more time looking through the menus, under the Effect menu and the Advanced tab and creating a custom effects script ......
But now would like to see if I can have a list of presets instead of having to load them through the script engine one at a time, maybe an option under the 'Effects/Presets' menu option listing all the scripts that are currently saved.
how I can do something that was previously done mechanically by photographers: Vignetting all images on a roll. For school photography, a vignette device used to be placed in front of the camera lens to darken the edges of the final print. Now I can create a vignette in photoshop but only on one image at a time. How do I create a vignette that I can somehow automate to end up on all 300 school children's images before I send the files to the lab for printing?

It can easily be removed with the paint bucket with the default settings, the watermark is light grey, the pictures (JPGs) are black and white (a scanned book). But the sheer number of images makes it a gigantic effort to do it by hand.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using gimp 2 to make a cartoon/rotoscope video. I used a separate program to remove each individual frame (2400+ frames) from a video as still images that can then be edited in Gimp. What I do is open the image, add two filters, then I save the image. The problem is repeating this over and over for each frame is getting to be very cumbersome and annoying. Is there a way to have the filter apply themselves automatically each time I open a new image? It would make things a lot easier and it would make the process go by much faster. It's annoying having to choose the filters from the drop down list every single time, especially when i keep applying the same 2 filters with the same exact settings every time. The same goes for the size of the image. Is it possible to just set gimp to a certain size and have it open at that same size every single time? It keeps asking me what size I want every time I open a new file. Gimp does remember the last size I typed in, but it still asks me to confirm it every single time i click new.

When I edit photos I'm going through a long process by going through each step or modification that I use. Is there a way to gather up all settings that I save (i.e. level, selective color, channel mixer, curve settings, etc.) and just apply it to the photo without having to go through the long process of adding these adjustments one by one for every picture I edit?
I just installed Photoshop CS3 on Win XP Prof and when started using it I could not apply any filters to layers.
Created an 8 bit RGB file went to Filter Gallery, chose a filter, saw the results, pressed OK and nothing happend.
Logged in as Administrator and Filter Galleries worked fine so I assume there is a permission problem but could not find which file to change permission for.
I want to change permissions so a "Users" account can use the filters.
Running CS3 on Vista 64bit.
When I try to apply a filter (in this case distort-glass) on a regular RGB 8bit layer(1 or above), it wont work. If however, I draw something on the base (background) layer and apply the filter to that, it works fine. Seems it does not like transparent backgrounds.
I run photoshop 13.0.4 through Creative Cloud, and I've just discovered that I cannot apply certain filters (such as blurs or liquify) to a smart object, even though I am told that this was "fixed" in a recent update.

But when I try - Select all clips - Drop a filter to the selections, it does not work as expected. Instead the filter gets applied only to one clip.
Is there any other way to achieve what I am doing - Automatically fix exposure and colour levels to all clips?

It appears that the Layer Filters functionality is broken again with 2013. Unchecking the "Apply layer filter to layer toolbar" disables the function of layer filters in the tool palette.

For example images of 0.2GB, 0.5GB, or even 1GB can be processed in few seconds with all filters? Or there are some filters requiring a longer time, something like minutes?
I am editing raw color images in PS CS6. I process them through Adobe Camera Raw into PS. When I apply any of the B&W Sketch filters to the image it changes the image to a B&W negative rather than a B&W positive. The color filters work normally on the same image.

I would like to use Photoshop to create accurate residual images (image describing the difference between two images) and to apply such residual images to restore one of the images used to create the residual.
given two 8bit images (pixel values in the range [0, 255]) a residual image would be created by subtracting one image from the other:
Residual = Image A - Image B
as the potential range of this residual is [-255, 255] it must be mapped to [0, 255] to be saved as image:
Residual = (Image A - Image B) / 2 + 127
given the residual image and image B, image A can then be restored as
Image A = Image B + (Residual - 127) * 2
so my question is: are these two processes (creating a residual image and restoring image A) possible using blending modes, and if not, can i program it somehow? I already tried it using Pixel Bender, but the Pixel Bender Photoshop plugin doesn't seem to work for pixel bender kernels that take two input images.
I want to create an action to apply to several images. This had to be the result. But I want to use the action for a portrait or landscape image or 72 or 300 dpi picture.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have PSPX3U. Just installed it on my new computer last week. I can't be sure, but I do believe I let it update. I then had the bug where Filters Unlimited filters don't work properly on a raster layer. I had this problem on my regular X3 (not ulltimate) after doing updates. My only option was to un-install PSP and re-install it and not update.
Now on this new computer, I did uninstallinstall and re-installed. I honestly don't remember, but I do think I still had a problem without doing any updates. I think I did one of the updates and my Filters Unlimited was back to working the way it should.
Now today I was working on something and found out that I have the dropping pixels bug. I thought I saw something off the other day. I do know this is a problem and I do see there's a fix. But it says that you have to install update 4 first.My PSPX3U version is 13.2.0.35.
I'm afraid of installing the updates because I can't afford to hae that filter bug again...but I also can't afford to have the dropping pixel bug.I tried to look at the updates to see which one(s) I would need to install, but only the first one tells you if you have a certain version then you don't need it. I couldn't find this for the others...unless I'm not looking in the right spot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen applying filters such as accented edges, ink outline, etc to a medium sized image (1024x768 or 1280x853) produce some pretty cool results.
However, when applying those same filters to larger images like files with a 5184x3456 resolution, the filters have little to no effect. I'm guessing this is because there are so many more pixels that altering each pixel has a less noticeable effect.
You can see an example here with the accented edges filter run over a smaller version of a picture I took, and then a larger one (that was then downsized to make it viewable): [URL]
The 1280x853 one looks pretty cool. On the larger 5184x3456 version the filter had almost no noticeable effect.
The problem is that I want the cool looking version like is seen in the 1280x853 version, but at a high enough resolution to print on a large canvas that is, say, 40' x 40' or so. Is it possible to get the bigger image to look like the smaller one without losing the resolution required to print it on a canvas that large? I've been trying to figure this out for weeks now...
Its a small school project which I have chosen and cant really find a way to do it. What I want to achieve? I have an image and I want to have like 50 variations of it.
What I did? I loaded up an image, recorded an action which applies the filter called "Wave", the the wave dialog box I selected Minimum and Maximum range for values.
Problem I am having:
I made 50 copies of the same image, and then I applied the action via batch processing to these 50 images. However, it applies the exact same settings/values which I recorded. It doesn't really use the range i.e maximum and minimum values I selected in the wave dialog box. It looks like when I closed the wave dialog box, the action creates a new value called "Random seed" when recording and perhaps this random seed number tells Photoshop what to choose from the min and max range supplied by the user.
So is there any way so that when I run the action, it will pick up a new random value from the supplied min and max range?
When I try to use the Apply Image Command to blend two images, the command only allows me to blend the target image with itself; that is, with two images open, the only image available to me as the source image is the target image.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 75 different images and would like to apply 4 different hue adjustment layers to each image and save them so I have 300 new images.
Idea on how to do this is;
Copy hue adjustment layer Merge the lower hue layer with the top image layer. Name the merged layer to what the image layer was Save newly merged layer and image layer in PNG format.
Doing this 300 times manually will take me an age, are there any scripts for CS4 that can automate this?
Does the Topaz filters can be installed in PhotoPaint X6 (64 bit).
