Paint Shop Pro :: X4 - Windows 8 Compatibility
May 29, 2012I just installed PaintShop Pro X4 trial version on windows 8 consumer preview. The installation went fine, however, I cannot start the program. I don't get any error, but it just doesn't start. How can I start using this program on windows 8. I tried it on windows 7, and it works without any issue. but I really like to use it on windows 8.

Nov 9, 2012I have a Paint shop Pro x14 (hardly used). I want to know if this software can be used on a tablet, such as Apple Ipad, or even a laptop. I read a review that did not recommend working with photos, particularly old ones that need a considerable amount of editing, on a laptop. The younger members of my family are urging me to purchase an ipad, but I don't think this would be suitable. In short, mainly looking for a way to have more access to working on photos, rather than being subjected to working in on desktop PC in isolation mode.

Nov 25, 2013In this version PSP-X6 I am not able to activate my plugins. Here's what I did started the application and went to File /Preferences / File Location / Plugins. I added the folder where I have my plugins and selected the Enable Adobe plugins, Limit plugins w 8B? ext., Folder option enable, use sub folder, click OK then closed out the application and re-started PSP and open a picture with into effects, plugins and none of my plugins are available to be used.

May 25, 2012After I migrated to Windows 7, PSPX3 does not load the plug-ins anymore. It says: "No plug-ins loaded." Older versions of PSP can load the plugins from the same directory, but not PSPX3. I have tried resetting the cache, and have checked the file location. It's correct and it is notched, but nothing works. I have 6Gb of RAM so it should do. Of course, I could always run the scripts in PSP8, so it's no big deal. But it should work.

Paint Shop Pro :: KPT Plugins Not Working?
Jul 25, 2011Yesterday I purchased Paint Shop Pro, downloaded it along with the extras -- KPT Collection, Magic Bullet, Win Zip, etc. -- all of which I was able to load/run, but the KPT Collection of effects/filters are not available. The filters are listed under plugins on the menu, but they are not highlighted and therefore can't be accessed.
Is there something I'm missing in trying to use the KPTs or something else that needs to be done to activate them? I did a search here on the forum, but didn't see anything that related to this problem.
Paint Shop Pro :: MVs Plugins Not Working In X6?
Sep 1, 2013I have used MV's Plugins for years. They worked fine in X4, started to not work on a layer in X5, but if I flattened the layer, no problem. In X6 none work, I get an error message. I have the latest versions as far as I am aware.
I then pointed the new Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 9 to the same folder (in this case Contrast Mask) to see if it works there. No problem. Ergo: what's happened to X6 to give these errors. MV'sPlugins_not_working-X6.jpg
Paint Shop Pro :: Appcrash With X2 And Several Plugins
Jan 28, 2012I bought the older Version Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 installed it yesterday looked as it were working fine, but crashes with several plugins I usually use. Now I work again with Paint Shop Pro 9.01 since this version works stable and does not crash with the very same plugins. I thought that X2 would be better than XI which I bought a long while ago, since that version always crashed.
Now I would like to know, if there is a chance to work with X2 without crashes or that I have to continue to work with 9.01 and throw the X2 into trash same I did before to the version XI?
Paint Shop Pro :: Unable To Access KPT Plugins?
Aug 30, 2013I installed the KPT plug ins from the Corel Content (or whatever it is called) website. They don't show up in X6--64 bit version. That is because they only work in 32? How can I get them to show up in 64 bit?
ps. They show up in X5. I can't remember which one, but I did like one of them.
Paint Shop Pro :: X4 / Errors When Running Topaz Plugins?
Oct 23, 2011Although Paint Shop Pro X4 runs the filters from Topaz Labs correctly on a single file, PSPX4 chokes when running the filters as part of a script in batch files. Not only was the program unable to apply the plug-ins correctly in a batch file, the errors were different depending on the plug-in.
I ran my tests on 8 JPG files with dimensions of 4021x3024 pix, file size averaging 2.8 MB. I then reduced the files to 800x600 pix dimensions and ran the same tests. Results were the same on both size groups. I recorded a script with only each Topaz filter, then tested the script on a single image. The script worked. The problems occurred when run in batch processing. I tested against another company's plug-in, running Alien Skin's Xenofex 2 Burnt Edges in a batch file with script on the 8 images with no problem. I also tested the same Topaz Labs filters in PhotoLine 16, recording and playing actions. The plug-ins ran perfectly in PhotoLine.
When batch processing was run in PSPX4, it was run with the test script selected and silent mode selected. Silent mode means the script should run from start to finish with no intervention by the user. Here's what happened in my tests.
Topaz Adjust 4 - Batch file runs correctly through 4 images, then the process freezes. The Windows Task Manager shows PSPX4 to be "running."

Paint Shop Pro :: Getting Alien Skin Plugins With X5 To Work?
Jan 25, 2013got the new Alien Skin plugins to work. When you install Alien Skin, you install to a single directory, both 32 bit and 64 bit plugins. Then in X5, File Locations, I put that directory in the settings but still nothing. maybe X5 doesn't work with them.

Paint Shop Pro :: X3U - Filters And Dropping Pixels
Jun 30, 2011I have PSPX3U. Just installed it on my new computer last week. I can't be sure, but I do believe I let it update. I then had the bug where Filters Unlimited filters don't work properly on a raster layer. I had this problem on my regular X3 (not ulltimate) after doing updates. My only option was to un-install PSP and re-install it and not update.
Now on this new computer, I did uninstallinstall and re-installed. I honestly don't remember, but I do think I still had a problem without doing any updates. I think I did one of the updates and my Filters Unlimited was back to working the way it should.
Now today I was working on something and found out that I have the dropping pixels bug. I thought I saw something off the other day. I do know this is a problem and I do see there's a fix. But it says that you have to install update 4 first.My PSPX3U version is 13.2.0.35.
I'm afraid of installing the updates because I can't afford to hae that filter bug again...but I also can't afford to have the dropping pixel bug.I tried to look at the updates to see which one(s) I would need to install, but only the first one tells you if you have a certain version then you don't need it. I couldn't find this for the others...unless I'm not looking in the right spot.

Apr 6, 2013Asus motherboard, i7, 930. 24 gig Kingston HyperX ram. Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. 5 SATA hard drives: 3 are WD 7200s; Driive C is a Plextor SSD and Drive G (where LR and Photoshop are installed), is an Intel SSD.
I've had LR 3 and 4 and 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. I have several hard drives. All the LR programs are installed on my G drive.
This time when I installed the update to 4.4, it did install on the G drive, but instead of creating a folder in Program Files, all the files, including the executables, simply installed in a long long row under Program Files and under the folders for the previous versions of LR. It did indeed install 4.4, but it's a mess and I can't figure out why there was no folder created.
When going into LR my copyright is gone and all the various styles of copyright I'd created in the Watermarks folder are unavailable. I also have 2 Nik Filters and 2 Topaz filters - they too are unavailable from the upgrade to 4.4. I also had a plugin for Zenfolio which is also missing and I can't find any plugin folder. Where is the plugin folder supposed to be?
It has never been clear to me which folders are supposed to reside on the same disk as the main LR program and which folders can be kept on another drive. Perhaps this is part of why I lost so much information.
I do have backups and I've been able to retrieve a lot - but I would like to be able to have the correct folders in the correct directories and drives. For example, when I updated to the new camera raw and dng, it was installed on my drive C, as it usually is. But the LR 4.4 files installed in a big list, although fortunately on the correct drive. And I have to reset all my settings, all my watermarks, my plugins and my filters.
Why did this happen and what can I do to repair it properly both for the best functioning of LR 4.4 and to not have this repeat itself with the next upgrade.
Photoshop :: OSX P'shop Filters?
Apr 26, 2003I have been using P'shop on a Mac for a while now (several years I think) and love to 'talk shop'. Anyway, my question for the moment is about filters. Two of my favorite filters before OSX were KPT Gaussian Glow and Gaussian Electrify. I don't' think they are available for OSX (I looked at Corel's web site and didn't see them) and wanted to know if anyone knew of any filters that were similar and written for OSX?
