How do I put the plugins into paint.net? Like I downloaded pyrochild's plugins but I don't know how to put his plugins on paint.net.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn this version PSP-X6 I am not able to activate my plugins. Here's what I did started the application and went to File /Preferences / File Location / Plugins. I added the folder where I have my plugins and selected the Enable Adobe plugins, Limit plugins w 8B? ext., Folder option enable, use sub folder, click OK then closed out the application and re-started PSP and open a picture with into effects, plugins and none of my plugins are available to be used.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter I migrated to Windows 7, PSPX3 does not load the plug-ins anymore. It says: "No plug-ins loaded." Older versions of PSP can load the plugins from the same directory, but not PSPX3. I have tried resetting the cache, and have checked the file location. It's correct and it is notched, but nothing works. I have 6Gb of RAM so it should do. Of course, I could always run the scripts in PSP8, so it's no big deal. But it should work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from photo pro x3 ultimate to x4 ultimate. However, I have some plugins I use in X3, i.e like KPT Collection, Magic Bullet et cetera. I tried to reinstall my kpt collection, but it shows only in X3 (again) and not in X4.
how I can move my plugins from x3 to x4!
Yesterday I purchased Paint Shop Pro, downloaded it along with the extras -- KPT Collection, Magic Bullet, Win Zip, etc. -- all of which I was able to load/run, but the KPT Collection of effects/filters are not available. The filters are listed under plugins on the menu, but they are not highlighted and therefore can't be accessed.
Is there something I'm missing in trying to use the KPTs or something else that needs to be done to activate them? I did a search here on the forum, but didn't see anything that related to this problem.
I have used MV's Plugins for years. They worked fine in X4, started to not work on a layer in X5, but if I flattened the layer, no problem. In X6 none work, I get an error message. I have the latest versions as far as I am aware.
I then pointed the new Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 9 to the same folder (in this case Contrast Mask) to see if it works there. No problem. Ergo: what's happened to X6 to give these errors. MV'sPlugins_not_working-X6.jpg
I bought the older Version Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 installed it yesterday looked as it were working fine, but crashes with several plugins I usually use. Now I work again with Paint Shop Pro 9.01 since this version works stable and does not crash with the very same plugins. I thought that X2 would be better than XI which I bought a long while ago, since that version always crashed.
Now I would like to know, if there is a chance to work with X2 without crashes or that I have to continue to work with 9.01 and throw the X2 into trash same I did before to the version XI?
Is there any plugins for the bulge effect? The one that I have doesnt give me the effect that I want and its a little hard to work with.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI redirected a user to the links in the Jewel tute but the problem is that while the tute sends you to the correct plugin thread, the download links in that thread are broken.
What we need is Zoom Blur Deluxe & Radial Blue Deluxe. To make matters worse they go by a couple of aliases...
I would put this is the thread for plugins but I'd have to do it for both.
I have the .DLL saved for both, so as a workaround for the broken download link, can I upload the file (if I can identify which one it is, not always that straight forward) & how do I upload it? As ab attachment?
I installed the KPT plug ins from the Corel Content (or whatever it is called) website. They don't show up in X6--64 bit version. That is because they only work in 32? How can I get them to show up in 64 bit?
ps. They show up in X5. I can't remember which one, but I did like one of them.
I just started using PaintShop Pro x3. Does PSP is fully compatible with ALL Photoshop plugins & filters?

View 3 Replies View RelatedNowadays you see programs that install in the
C:users[username]AppDataLocal or C:Users[username]AppDataRoaming folder, rather than c:program files.
I have mixed feelings about this, because it confuses me where a particular program is installed. But I do understand the benefits.
Installation in c:program files requires administrator rights, whereas installation in the AppData can be done without (administrator rights).
The same counts for pdn plugins. Currently they need to be placed in c:program filesPaint.Netplugins, which can only be done with administrator rights. In a strictly managed environment I'd need to ask my system administrator to add a few plugins to the pdn install folder structure. (Really, our system administrator can not be bothered with such trivial requests ;-)
But if there was a secondary location where plugins can reside,
e.g. C:users[username]AppDataRoamingPaint.NetPlugins
Then any (low-rights) user could add his own plugins to an existing Paint.Net installation without the involvement of an administrator. Wouldn't that be great?
Maybe such a scheme could be included in the upcoming PDN 4?
Although Paint Shop Pro X4 runs the filters from Topaz Labs correctly on a single file, PSPX4 chokes when running the filters as part of a script in batch files. Not only was the program unable to apply the plug-ins correctly in a batch file, the errors were different depending on the plug-in.
I ran my tests on 8 JPG files with dimensions of 4021x3024 pix, file size averaging 2.8 MB. I then reduced the files to 800x600 pix dimensions and ran the same tests. Results were the same on both size groups. I recorded a script with only each Topaz filter, then tested the script on a single image. The script worked. The problems occurred when run in batch processing. I tested against another company's plug-in, running Alien Skin's Xenofex 2 Burnt Edges in a batch file with script on the 8 images with no problem. I also tested the same Topaz Labs filters in PhotoLine 16, recording and playing actions. The plug-ins ran perfectly in PhotoLine.
When batch processing was run in PSPX4, it was run with the test script selected and silent mode selected. Silent mode means the script should run from start to finish with no intervention by the user. Here's what happened in my tests.
Topaz Adjust 4 - Batch file runs correctly through 4 images, then the process freezes. The Windows Task Manager shows PSPX4 to be "running."
Topaz Detail 2 - Batch file runs correctly through 4 images, then the process freezes. The Windows Task Manager shows PSPX4 to be "running."
Topoaz Clean 3 - Batch file runs, but Topaz window opens on each file, requiring user selection before progressing to next file. However, the process freezes after the fourth image. The Windows Task Manager shows PSPX4 to be "running."
Topaz InFocus - Batch file runs, but Topaz window opens on each file, requiring user selection before progressing to next file. However, the process freezes after the fourth image. The Windows Task Manager shows PSPX4 to be "running."
Topaz Lens Effects - Batch file runs, but Topaz window opens on each file, requiring user selection before progressing to next file. However, the process freezes after the fourth image. The Windows Task Manager shows PSPX4 to be "running."
Topaz DeNoise 5 - Batch file runs for all 8 files, however Topaz window opens on each file, requiring user selection.
got the new Alien Skin plugins to work. When you install Alien Skin, you install to a single directory, both 32 bit and 64 bit plugins. Then in X5, File Locations, I put that directory in the settings but still nothing. maybe X5 doesn't work with them.

In setting up KPT filters work OK but the Magic bullet Looks fails to launch, or at least just opens a blank window and X3 passes the message "wrong parameters passed". View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there some sort of restriction in Paint.NET that restricts the folks creating plugins from permitting the plugins to interact or function directly on the canvas/layer?
For instance the smudge and liquify (and others) open another window where you make your adjustments. The reason why I ask is this results in doing some things blindly because you can't see the rest of the canvas. I think some of these plugins will be so much more effective (especially with the recent addition of grid warping) if you can do some of these things on the canvas so you can shape images/textures to follow contours, but this is nearly impossible without doing so with several blind attempts.
Is it by any chance, possible to make tools as plugins usable in the "normal" working space, not in a new window? Also, adding something like this:

Whenever I'm applying an effect or processing HDR, my previews are just black pictures. I know I'm not on a top of the line graphics computer (will probably be buying a new computer next month) could it be the computer cannot handle the pictures? If I choose to select a picture (even though it's black) from the HDR selections, it processes a finished photo but it would be nice to see all the selections and be able to apply changes and see the effects without having to process it each time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs you can imagine, I've just upgraded to X3. I just saved a .tiff image as a pspimage, without any editing. When I close it and go to re-open it, I can open it in X1 and in X3, BUT NOT IN Paint Shop Pro 9, which is and probably will remain my workhorse. The browser in PSP 9 doesn't even show the pspimage, only the .tif image. I've tried to open it in PSP 9 via Windows Explorer, but get one of two error messages: "This is not a valid pspimage" or "no preview available". Monkeying around with the File Associations in PSP 9 doesn't seem to work.
The problem arises if I want to do the bulk of my editing/restoration in PSP 9 and then bring it up in X3 in order to use one of the newer tools, such as the Makeover tool. Once I do that, I've lost the ability to re-open it in PSP 9.
Is there a way that you know of to make an X3 pspimage available in PSP 9, or is it inherantly not possible?
In the newest version of Paint.net how do you get the thumbnail view to be the default type of view when opening a file in Windows XP? Instead it always defaults to LIST view when you open the program. In my current old version 3.2 it saved the last view 'state' you used but this is gone in the newer versions - at least since 2008.
Windows by default saves the last view 'state' of a folder when last accessed and the old version of Paint.net also had this windows behavior. MS Word, Excel, ect.. also has this behavior and saves the last open file view state you used. Paint.net does not respect the windows folders default view state - it uses its own and defaults it to LIST every time.
I have not been able to upgrade Paint.net for years because LIST view is worthless when viewing hundreds of pictures. Is there any way to get the default windows behavior back or is there a setting that saves the file open view state?
Every time I resize an image, the image in the workspace shows at a certain percent and I have to scroll to zoom in to view it at the normal size. The percent varies from image to image.
