It would be nice if Paint.NET would open with the same window size and location as last time it was run.
I've noticed it does this already if you launch Paint.NET from the start menu, but not if you open a file in Paint.NET (which is much more common).
When i open Gimp, the image window size is way too big.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used PSP since version 2, so have been at it for awhile. Just upgraded to 6, as I was using version 4.
The problem I have is when I am in the edit area, and have a photo on the screen I use my mouse wheel to enlarge or shrink depending on my needs. The old version the windows box around image would also resize with image. I have attached a few images. I normal could fix this in the settings, but for some reason the window will not follow the image size as I enlarge or shrink? It does when I actually resize image, but I need this to do that when I am just using mouse wheel to make bigger or smaller on my screen.
Everytime I open a document in Photoshop CS5, these 2 dialog boxes (Image Size, Script Alert) would pop up. to cancel 2 times to start editing. Is there a setting I can disable this?

The docs say use the selection tool (in my case the rectangle tool) to make a selection. They say if you want to resize the selection just grab on of the handles. This works as it should. However I want to resize my layer, which is essentially a square image. I can't see where to do this. The layer properties don't even show the size of my layer. Is there some way to open the layer in another window?

I'm a new user of X4. I'm making a project using several transparent layers, with layer 1 set as background image. I then draw several images into the succeeding layers. My template is set at 480x270 pixels.
Is there any way to export my drawings with their original size and location preserved with respect to the background image? The thing is I need to recombine the images in the different layers later on (in a different program and project) and I need them to be in their right sizes and positions as when I created them in order to reconstruct the image accurately.
Is there a way to find a location on an image.? Let's say I have an image of 1024 x 768 and I want to find the pixel at 354 x 47. How do I do that? Ability to set a manual location for an image or selection, and using this ability to give precise display of images, photos or graphics of the sorts.
The reason I say this is because I feel it would make precision much more in-depth, and make it easier to manage the graphics on the display. Another feature that marries this concept is alignment, with the ability to make certain objects on a specific layer to have that similar x or y location to that of another object, with the ability to enable/disable alignment.
While alignment is more of a vector feature, it would make graphic drawing much easier, especially if Paint.NET marries some vector features to improve on it's current bezier curve interpretation of line drawing.
Since I updated to CC I've had a bug that drives me a little nuts. Because I have a Retina MacBook Pro connected to an Apple Thunderbolt display, Photoshop seems to get confused about the size of the window to open. It thinks it should be sized to fit on the Retina screen (which I use as secondary), but at 100% on the non-retina screen (the primary display).
The end result is that every time I open a document the window is only showing the top quarter of the document I'm opening. I always have to hit command plus, command minus to get it displaying right.
Sometimes when we place a window in a wall we can grab the grip and stretch it to any size we want. Other times the only sizes we can use are the standard sizes. I know how to add a standard size but how can we make it to where you can just strectch it to any size we want?

How can I keep this from happening, so my image retains its original size?
I'm looking to size my model space window so that it is exactly 1280x720 pixels of viewable area for the sake of using plot to .png to create the right size images.
Is there a quick command or menu somewhere that shows the current viewable area of the model space window and allows for it to be changed?

I am forced to browse my block attributes page by page. Is there any possibility to tweak the window size and have it maximized?

In no apparent pattern, MAP mode displays completely incorrect locations for my photos.
The same ones are mapped properly by Nikon View (attachment snap097).
One example is these coordinates:
Latitude:N 39d 12m 58.86s
Longitude:W 76d 31m 21.82s
Altitude:182.00m
Altitude Reference:Sea level
Which is right near the Frances Scott Key Bridge in Maryland, USA.
PSP displays it as somewhere off the west coast of Africa (attachment snap096)
I just wanted to say that it appeared sometime in X5. I didn't install X5 until SP3 was available. I don't know if it first showed up in one of the SPs since I only ever installed SP3. In X4, I work with the Histogram Palette docked below the image at all times so I can monitor what is happening as I work within the various adjustments. If I check/uncheck the "Preview on Image" box, I can toggle the differences on the histogram as I work. This is invaluable functionality. I depend on it for my work. [I wish the Histogram window would give me readouts of Histogram values when I place my mouse over the Histogram window, but that is an enhancement request for another day.] Now with X5, I can ONLY dock the Histogram window over on the right side. This is about the most braindead place for it, as the width is extremely limited, which limits the scale at which change information is displayed to the point of being useless. Seemingly more braindead, while docked, the only dimension in which the Histogram can be expanded without sacrificing image preview size is vertically. Corel has taken what was a very useful tool and rendered it mostly useless. Knowing this is also a problem in X6, I will not be purchasing that version unless it has been fixed, which I gather has not happened yet. I tried to Save an X4 Workspace and Load it into X5, but X5 cannot even open an X4 Workspace. I guess Workspaces are another USELESS "feature" since Corel seems not to preserve basic function across Revs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe adjustments and effects dialogs always open right in the middle of the Paint.Net screen - in other words, right over the center of your paint object (photo, etc.). It is the last place anyone should want it to appear. I always have to drag it out of the way before I can use the effect (otherwise, you can't see what the effect is doing).
Example A: Make all such dialogs open at the right-most side of the Paint window by default (or left, etc.).
Example B: Have Paint.net remember the last position of any dialog box - and apply it for ALL effects/adjustments dialogs that open subsequent to that. This is my favorite option even if Paint.net won't keep the position after it closes. Moving the first dialog box of a new session once is no big deal as long as Paint.net will remember it per session.
During text creation, I can resize the text by changing font size, use move it around..Later on if I want to modify the text (resize, move to another location)...I don't know how..

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen creating PDFs/PNGs to watch on a computer, it doesn't make sense to use standard paper sizes. The reason is that usually the plotted window does not fill both width and height and there are big white margins inthe produced file.
So my question is, how can I easily create a paper size to match a selected window (or layout) at a certain scale?
In ACLT 2008, I was able to resize the window in the layer properties manager to what was convenient for me. In ACLT 2010, I am unable to change either the size or the position of the window. The same is true of the Design center window. Is this something that is permanently changed, or is there maybe a fix coming to allow this convenience in the future? Or have I missed some system variable which controls this?

All my models for our library items are entirely controlled by Excel sheets and the names of the parameters are often quite lengthy. It's very annoying to have to drag the edit dimension box wider each time and push home or end to see everything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having diffuculties with my "Filters Gallery" window. Whenever it comes up, it cuts off some parts of the tools in the Filters Gallery. For example, if I wanted to give my image the "Plastic Wrap" filter, on the right side I only see half of the Highlight Strength, Detail and Smoothness adjustment bars, I can't see the little boxes where you enter numbers for the adjustment bars and only half of the Ok and Cancel buttons on the top of the window. When I try to adjust the window size by using the little black arrows that come up when you put your cursor on the edges of the window, it will only let me make the window longer, not wider. How can I make everything visible in my Filters Gallery window?
