Mar 18, 2011I closed the color window and now I don't know how to open it again. How?

View 1 RepliesI have a document with three layers, nothing fancy. I want to make one of the layers bigger. The docs say use the selection tool (in my case the rectangle tool) to make a selection. They say if you want to resize the selection just grab on of the handles. This works as it should. However I want to resize my layer, which is essentially a square image. I can't see where to do this. The layer properties don't even show the size of my layer. Is there some way to open the layer in another window?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first time using this program, and I accidentally closed the 'layers' window that shows the layers and lets you move them around. I can't find where to open it again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt would be nice if Paint.NET would open with the same window size and location as last time it was run.
I've noticed it does this already if you launch Paint.NET from the start menu, but not if you open a file in Paint.NET (which is much more common).
I've just installed PaintNet.. looks like what I've been wanting to replace MS Paint. I just need to know how to get the Color window back once X'd out. Also Layer and History windows.

if you look at the image attached the colours on the right are what the color picker is displaying and if I use that hex code thats the colour the web page displays, but if i fill in any element the colours circled on the left are shown in photoshop.

Why is the color picker window showing a different color to the whats displayed?
Photoshop always starts with opening a window (grey) at startup or when closed en re-opened. How can I close this window permanently so that i can see my desktop when closing last Photoshop picture (window).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to colourise a video, so I open the animation window, open a colour layer, and colour the scene. When I drag the 'Current Time Indicator', the video moves, but the colour layer (naturally) doesn't. What I do is shorten the green line on the animation window for the colour layer, duplicate the layer, re-position it on the animation window, and so on for all the frames.
What I would like to know is, is there an easier way to do this? Is there anyway I can do this without using so many layers, or edit the one colour layer, and have changes on one frame, but not on the other, with the same layer being used?
When you go to save or open something in photoshop, I'd like to edit the "shortcuts" that are on the left hand side of the window (Recent Places, Desktop, User Directory, Computer, Network). I've altered those shortcuts in vista windows and would like to do the same for photoshop. I know that in OSX you're able to tell photoshop to use the operating system's window rather than photoshop's, is this possible on windows?

I am running the 30 Day Trial Version on Windows 7.
Why is there a default empty window when you open the app on Mac? All previous versions let you view your desktop if you don't have an open project. Is there a preference setting to get rid of this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently installed / upgraded to CS5.1, set up all my preferences, keyboard shortcuts, presets, plugins. All worked fine, day in - day out, for the last three weeks. About three days ago this anomaly appeared...

When I zoom in (cmd +/), the window will resize, but only part way. The window will move over flush right on the monitor, but leave about one inch of space between the window and the left side of the monitor, and increase in size until it fits aprox 2/3rds of the monitor / screen. It stops enlarging and leaves about 3 inches of space between the window and the bottom of the screen. At that point I get scroll bars. So I end up with a much smaller window to work in.
I can grab the bottom right corner of the window, pull it open to fill the screen, but as soon as I go to zoom in or out, the window jumps back to the smaller size with the gap on the left side and bottom.
Option bar is "Standard Screen Mode"
All my pallets are on a separate monitor, so nothing else is on my main monitor that would limit the size of my window as I zoom in.
My preferences are set to:
• Zoom Resizes Windows
• Enable Flick Panning (works fine)
• Animated Zoom

I don't know if I inadvertently changed something to cause this.
I've been using CS2 Photoshop 9 for some time on an iMac running 10.4.11. all of a sudden, the Layers window will not stay open. It'll open with F7 but as soon as I click on the image I'm working on, the Layers window closes! All the other windows seem to work OK. Did I mistakenly hit something to cause this to happen? It's almost like an automatic window closer.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi have photoshop CS6 in a mac os x operative system and when i drag one image from the tabs to make it as a floating window in order to keep that image as a reference for the painting that i am working on, that floating window disappears behind my PS CS6 window like if it was part of another program when i click out of it, why is this happening.
I want to keep that floating window open all the time by the file that i working on.
I can not open the Photomerge dialog window. When I click on it, a message tells me that photoshop has stopped working and it closes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI try to open anything in Photoshop CS, the dialog window shows up for a fraction of a second and then disappears. Photoshop then immediately locks up as if the window is still there and I need to make a selection from there. Only way to do anything at this point is to CTL-ALT-DEL and close Photoshop.
I can't think of anything I installed on the laptop lately, Photoshop has run without incident for months on this machine. The other items in CS don't seem to have any problems at all either.
When i open Gimp, the image window size is way too big.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was taught in school that to set up a project location, go to File > Set Project... to choose a folder for saving all files and materials, and then go to File > Project Window. But for some reason, when I click on Project Window, it does absolutely nothing. The window does not pop up.
It works fine in computers in school, but at home on my Windows computer, it doesn't.
This has been happening using C3D 2014:
Sometimes when I start C3D and hit F2 to open the text window it just flashes very quickly and won't stay open. Usually I will run a few other commands and then it will work properly. This only happens when I initially open the program.
I'm trying to edit some material properties before rendering. But suddenly, I can no longer open up the Material Edit window. I searched and it said to look where it was last opened. Ok, I did that because I was using it this morning. But then it disappeared for good and I cannot figure out how to re-open it. I've cold booted my computer and restarted AutoCAD but the results are the same. So what am I missing. This copy is AutoCAD 2013 and it has SP1 and SP2 loaded.
UPDATE: OK...something weird happened. I finally found it but it was hidden beneath the other icons which I have anchored on the left. I was only able to get to it by carefully placing my mouse on a piece of it and dragging it out into the model space. So, what gives and how can I avoid this in the future?
I cannot open the appearance palette from the window tab. I am able to open all of them except the appearance palette. I have dual monitors and running XP. Adobe illustrator CS

When I open illustrator CS6 or InDesign I always want to be able to view my desktop so I can access files. Why has CS4, 5 and 6 gone full screen when you open files. Is there a way to prevent full screen mode? I am getting so tired of dragging the bottom right corner to make the window smaller. I'm using a mac, 10.7.5
