View 1 RepliesI try to open anything in Photoshop CS, the dialog window shows up for a fraction of a second and then disappears. Photoshop then immediately locks up as if the window is still there and I need to make a selection from there. Only way to do anything at this point is to CTL-ALT-DEL and close Photoshop.
I can't think of anything I installed on the laptop lately, Photoshop has run without incident for months on this machine. The other items in CS don't seem to have any problems at all either.
We had a possibility to see images preview in Open File dialog window of Photoshop CS5 but in new CS6 version there is not such possibility. Should I forget about that nice option and use Mini Bridge?

I have loaded about 10 pictures in the editor of elements 10. I want to save them to an sd card. When I try to do that it tries to save all of my pictures instead.Â

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running dual 30 inch monitors each one at 2560x1600 resolution, on windows xp sp3 on an nvidia quadro FX 3700M (dell precision M6400 laptop) If I use CS4 from the single laptop screen, everything is fine. However, whenever Im on the huge dual screen desktop any dialog box activity has a very poor performance. For example, I select File>New and the dialog window takes some two to three seconds to draw on the screen... it might not seem like a big problem but it is very very annoying since I am used to the snappy response of the user interface from years of PS use. It really affects my workflow since I work with many files at the same time. Also, the bigger the dialog window the slower it takes to appear. If I select File > Save for Web and Devices, that dialog window will take up to five seconds to appear on the screen. The problem seems to get worse the longer the OS has been working, ie. if the PC is freshly booted the problem seems a bit lighter. So it might be related to video card memory or something. Here's what I have tried so far to solve this:Since what I'm using is a laptop, the driver choices are limited, however I've been able to force install the 181.20 version of the nvidia driver, but it made no difference. All the official driver versions (176 series) from Dell also have the problem. The problem doesn't seem related to Photoshop's use of the GPU as the problem remains while the GPU acceleration disabled. This problem is also present in PS CS3 as well as CS2 CS1 and version 7 which are all I am able to test.I was able to reproduce this problem on a desktop computer with the same setup on an nvidia quadro FX 5500 card. The dialog box window performance is really terrible.I did not notice this problem in any other application that spans the two screens, even high end 3d ones. Ok well it seems from my testing that Photoshop is simply bogged down by having such a huge desktop area to work with.

How can I make a dialog window with transparent background which looks like exactly like this: With transparent background, so the Aero glass color is white.

If you hover your mouse over the picture, you may see checkered patterns, which is transparent, so the Aero glass can see through the checkered patterns.
How can I do this like the Aero glass see through the checkered patterns above?

I´m wondering if there is a way to get rid of the Netrender dialogwindow?
Everytime I have to click Connect, check in the jobslist what jobname I had last time and then press the plus sign ´til I get the next number in line...
Can´t this get more automated? Like I set my render settings on my workstation, set the output path and file, press render and the job gets send to one of the slaves without my going through the procedure described above??!!
I made a prompted entry, for example, in a sketched symbol, again, for example.
Now i edit the text and want to write a static text, not a prompted entry and none from that list, but i cannot get the empty, white, window, like in the picture, and like when i start a new text.
I am forced to choose only from the list.
I have a Visual Basic.NET add-in that displays a dialog in Inventor. The code in this dialog opens some parts in the background. This has always worked fine, but now I'm working with Vault and when the files are not checked out Inventor displays a small window and asks the question if you want to check out the file. The problem is that this small windows stays behind my add-in dialog. Is it possible to show the check out windows on top of my add-in dialog? I tried form.show and form.showdialog, but this doesn't seem to make any difference.

I have a photographer friend who says he use to be able to work this way and for some reason it no longer works. I suspect he is wrong.
Is this normal or is something not working correctly.
I use CS6 on a system that utilities two monitors. To maximize the amount of screen on Monitor 1 used for viewing my photos, I have arranged the workspace so that my history, actions and other panels are on Monitor 2.
Â
However, whenever I open a window, for example Image->Adjustments, it always opens the window or dialog/settings box on Monitor 1, over the top of the photo that I'm trying to edit. I then have to drag the window across to Monitor 2 manually before making the necessary adjustments.
Â
Upon shutting down the window and then performing another adjustment, the new window doesn't 'remember' that I had last shut it down on Monitor 2, and it opens on Monitor 1 again.
Â
Is there any way of getting CS6 to open these windows and dialog boxes on Monitor 2 by default?
Under my install of Vista Enterprise on an AD network, I'm am not getting the "computer" option to access local and network drives when I select "File/Open". All I get is the redirected "home" directory for that user. True for all Adobe applications (have the latest Creative Suite 4). Other Windows apps using Windows file/open dialog box can get to the network. Tech support said I should have an option to select the OS dialog box, but I do not see that on my install.

Can Adobe add in "Preferences" - option with checkbox for users Windows 7/8 who can use the new windows explorer with extended folder bar? That would be simplified and speeded up a lot of things.
Photoshop is unusable for me. I was running CS6 but it kept freezing when I tried to open a file. I uninstalled and installed CC -- same problem. I checked the preferences to see if there was a setting for an Adobe file dialog and it froze again.

I suspect it has something to do with Mountain Lion 10.8.4 but I don't have this problem in other Adobe apps. Ran Disk Utility, verified permissions, verified disk -- everything checks out. Not sure what to do.
How do I open Camera Raw dialog box in Elements 11
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy did Adobe remove the file preview area from the File > Open dialog box? I like having all my file requests showing Details mode so I need the Preview window when I am navigating, browsing and opening files.
Â
Illustrator CS6 still has a Preview window, granted it only works on AI files, it should be able to preview PDFs and EPS files correctly, let alone all raster formats.
Upgrading to ML with the newest CS6 (creative cloud) and in the open dialog, clicking on PSDs gives a generic "strtable error". I can still open the files.
View 10 Replies View Relatedhow do i open print preview dialog box?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEnvironment: CS6 (PS 13.0.1) Mac OS X 10.7.5. Plenty of hardware. (Generally starting with .CR2 RAW.)Recently (maybe since the 13.0.1 update??), I have been having problems with the open and save as dialog boxes.
Â
First. The open file dialog always defaults to Enable: blank (i.e. no file types enabled). Each time I have to go to the bottom of the dropdown list and select "All readable documents" before I can open ANY type of file. I've searched in everyway I can think of looking for some method to have OPEN default to "all readable" but can't find anyway to do this. when whipping around at deadline having to stop each time and make this change is irritating. No other program has this difficulty (including Illustrator and InDesign). PS 5.5 did not exhibit this behavior on the same machine.
Â
Second. When I save as and try to select any file format, say going from psd to tiff, the format dropdown list ALWAYS selects the format ABOVE the one I choose. Example: If I select JPEG, PS tries to save as .iff. If I pull the selection down to JPEG2000 it will then save as standard JPEG. Again just an irritant but, tiff (which I need for several other programs) is last on the list thus there is no way I can go one below it to get tiff format selected. It always comes out as png. Also note that the Format selection indicates the correct format - in the case of tiff the dialog box shows TIFF selected, but the program is appending .png. (Continuing the save as (without altering my selection) always results in the incorrect format no matter what the Format dialog says in the save as operation.) Again, no other program I work with (including several Adobe products) exhibits this behavior.
Â
I seriously need to be able to save as tiff.
