AutoCAD 2013 :: Size Of Open Dialog Window
May 30, 2013When I open a new drawing, the open dialog window stays the same size which is usually too small. I have to resize it every time I open a drawing.

Mar 26, 2008I try to open anything in Photoshop CS, the dialog window shows up for a fraction of a second and then disappears. Photoshop then immediately locks up as if the window is still there and I need to make a selection from there. Only way to do anything at this point is to CTL-ALT-DEL and close Photoshop.
I can't think of anything I installed on the laptop lately, Photoshop has run without incident for months on this machine. The other items in CS don't seem to have any problems at all either.

Dec 28, 2012Autocad MEP 2013 was working fine until I installed SP1 yesterday.
Now when type in open the dialog comes up (not a filedia issue). Â When I click the "look in" pull-down in the open dialog it goes blank and I am unable to browse any folders. Â I've tried rebooting.. Â Should I reinstall?

Aug 14, 2013When I click on File>Open The dialog box no longer has a thumnail preview. Only a small grey box hovering on the right that says "Initial View" with a check box. I have attached a snapshot of my Autocad File> open dialog box so you can see what I'm getting on my end.
If I browse for files in windows explorer and change view option to thumbnail I can see the thumbnails just fine.
I've tried everything but I cannot get back my File> Open thumbnail preview.
In Tools> Options I have the thumbnail preview settings all set to save thumbnail preview image. Nothing has changed that I know if for the thumbnail preview to go away.
It's really slowing me down not being able to have thumbnail preview in the file> open dialog box.

Mar 21, 2013I have a problem with previewing of new files I made in INV2013. Old files are OK. I can not find the cause...I also found, that some new files are correct and other incorrect, all made in INV 2013.
There are two types of error:
1) when I pick the file I want to open, in left lower corner - thumbnail window- is displayed text:"preview not available"
2) when I pick the file I want to open, the left lower corner - thumbnail window- is black
In iProperties panel I have checked "Save preview picture"

Jan 9, 2014I've been running dual monitors (22" and a 18") for a while, but I just upgraded to a larger second monitor (now both 22"). Before, I left AutoCAD running in the main monitor, but now I've switched it to run in the second monitor instead. Now AutoCAD will not remember the position or size of the Open and Save dialog boxes while it is in the second monitor. Sometimes it throws them back into the main monitor and other times they show up in the second but without the resize I did previously.Â

Sep 2, 2011I have a Visual Basic.NET add-in that displays a dialog in Inventor. The code in this dialog opens some parts in the background. This has always worked fine, but now I'm working with Vault and when the files are not checked out Inventor displays a small window and asks the question if you want to check out the file. The problem is that this small windows stays behind my add-in dialog. Is it possible to show the check out windows on top of my add-in dialog? I tried form.show and form.showdialog, but this doesn't seem to make any difference.

Photoshop :: CS4 Poor Dialog Window Performance With...
Apr 9, 2009I am running dual 30 inch monitors each one at 2560x1600 resolution, on windows xp sp3 on an nvidia quadro FX 3700M (dell precision M6400 laptop) If I use CS4 from the single laptop screen, everything is fine. However, whenever Im on the huge dual screen desktop any dialog box activity has a very poor performance. For example, I select File>New and the dialog window takes some two to three seconds to draw on the screen... it might not seem like a big problem but it is very very annoying since I am used to the snappy response of the user interface from years of PS use. It really affects my workflow since I work with many files at the same time. Also, the bigger the dialog window the slower it takes to appear. If I select File > Save for Web and Devices, that dialog window will take up to five seconds to appear on the screen. The problem seems to get worse the longer the OS has been working, ie. if the PC is freshly booted the problem seems a bit lighter. So it might be related to video card memory or something. Here's what I have tried so far to solve this:Since what I'm using is a laptop, the driver choices are limited, however I've been able to force install the 181.20 version of the nvidia driver, but it made no difference. All the official driver versions (176 series) from Dell also have the problem.The problem doesn't seem related to Photoshop's use of the GPU as the problem remains while the GPU acceleration disabled.This problem is also present in PS CS3 as well as CS2 CS1 and version 7 which are all I am able to test.I was able to reproduce this problem on a desktop computer with the same setup on an nvidia quadro FX 5500 card. The dialog box window performance is really terrible.I did not notice this problem in any other application that spans the two screens, even high end 3d ones. Ok well it seems from my testing that Photoshop is simply bogged down by having such a huge desktop area to work with.
