I just downloaded paint.net and I'm making a icon for my youtube channel. I'm usually good when it comes to photoshop (i had it for years, it recently was uninstalled by mistake and I couldn't be bothered re-downloading it) but I cant seem to find out how to do something.
I'm trying to colour the blur behind the text (the layer under layer 5) but I've tried making a new layer, colouring green over it and using overlay, that failed. I've check multiple tutorials, but nothing is working.
I am trying to gain assistance with typing up my xbox live gamertag, and making the letters fade from one color on one side, to another color on the other side. Im new to paint.net, but ive been trying my best
I have a picture of text (non-latin characters) that is multicolored. Most of the text is black but certain words/letters are purple, red, blue, etc. and I want to get rid of them. The black and white tool works but the previously colored text is now a shade of gray instead of being pure black. I also played with the contrast and brightness but it the text bleeds and becomes unreadable. The background is also pure white.
I don't know how to do an edge blur. basically I have a smokey cloud in the background and a picture in front of it. i want the edges of the picture in front to be blurred so it appears to be all one picture.
since the last update for Paintshop Pro X4, I can't add a new layer form the layers palette and I cant edit the text color at all. I can change the color in the palette but it will not change in the text at all. Is it me or is it a bug?
I' have an image that I've created using layers. I want to add text to the picture. But the text comes up grey and there seems to be no box for selecting the text color as there is say in word or other windows programs. I can only see a choice for font and size. I can't make a color window appear to give me a choice of colors. The only thing on the left of my window is the tools panel with the 22 tools in it. I don't seem to be able to use the color picker tool because I want white text and there is no white in my photo to pick on.
I have a photo and need to blur/distort out a face. When I use one of the blurs or distorts it does the whole photo. If I use the elliptical thingie it just makes the ellipse, but I don't know how to apply the blur to that spot.
I edit allot of sports photos and I would like to get to be able to use the Motion blur effect. I know Paint.net has the motion blur effect but I have a hard time just blurring the parts of the photo I want. Is there anyway I can get a better selecting tool?
Working on a header. I would like the background of the header to be blurred (gaussian blur). How to do this or post a link to a guide? If so, do I need any plugins?
I am wondering why the gradients that paint.net generate look so dull, and i've experimented with creating the gradient by just filling two colors and then applying gaussian blur. Is there a reason why the gradient looks dull? and is there already a tool for creating a gradient like a gaussian blur provides?
it looks like the gradient tool creates a lot of "in between" color, in my example gray. I've attached an example. The gradient is on the left, gaussian blur on the right.
I want to blur or fade just one side of a picture to blend into a new header image.
I don't want the picture to look as if it has just been stuck on top of the background....It must look as if it's an integral part of the background.... the picture has a very defined, dark "hard" edge . And I would like to "soften" it ....is that possible?
What techniques are available to integrate a picture into a header background?
I'm making some signs for my veggie stand for when we open. the problem I'M having is that I can change the font size ok but after I go back and try to add color to were i want it on the text won't let me do a thing.
I'm learning how to use a Gaussian blur mask to airbrush portraits, but one issue I keep running into is that whenever I paint close to a colour other than skin (e.g., glasses, hair, shirt) then the paintbrush picks up that colour and paints it on the skin. Even when I try a very small diameter of brush or increase the hardness to 100%, it still shows up. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
how to blur the images for a client website..What I have done is to take 2 images and put them alongside each other, but I need to blur the area where they join to make the join look less severe. Also, I need to blur the complete outer edge of the whole image as well.
I am trying to get a blur effect (Gaussian) on a vector image, and it is not allowing it to happen. It appears that it will only affect bitmap images. Is this true, or can I actually do the effect as I want?
