View 1 RepliesJust wondering if anyone knows a great fast way to remove water from a surface in a photo. The water splashes in the photos I am editing appear as dark spots(it is water on an interlocking pool deck), I want to remove the water.
I am currently using a combination of cloning, stamping, copying objects, and playing with brightness and contrast. But it is VERY time consuming. I edit photos of swimming pools quite regularly, and water on decks can be quite a problem, so I need a faster method, if anyone knows of one?
I want to make something look like it is made out of water. For example, I have a spherical object (such as a basketball) and I want it to remain spherical (not circular) but it should have a water surface and be somewhat transparent.

Follow steps below.
[*] Start with new image of desired dimensions
[*] Go through menus Script-Fu > Render > Lava
a new window will appear, select gradient named Horizon 2 (if you do not have this gradient in list, then download attached file, I do not remember from where I downloaded this file, credit goes to respective author.
So a friend created a model using zbrush and exported several different *.OBJ files. I imported those to maya and added shaders. They all fit correctly together when imported.
some of those obj files required me to do a mesh->combine. so now it appears that not every item has the same reference point so that when I move or scale the entire item, some of the objects move seperately. I think it is only the ones I had to combine.
I tried freeze transformations, but when doing that, some of the objects lost their scale settings and still didnt move together as one unit.

Surface does exist as we can see the triangles/contours or whatever we choose to display. When we run the Water drop command, we are getting a message saying that the point is outside of the surface. We have selected a valid surface by both picking it visually and selecting it from the dialogue. All layers are on and thawed and we are picking well inside of the surface.
Why it would be telling us that the point is outside the surface?
WAV Files will not play in Sound Sequencer, followed the direction...no sound at all. my system plays the WAV file fine in windows. played back is set to real time, I clicked sound on as well...nothing.

Second: After capture my DV tape from Panasonic 400 to Hard Drive (with default setup and 16:9) I discovered that every few seconds video is distorted as well as sound is distorted too. I am sure that original tape is OK.

I've been using a Boolean difference, but I keep getting weird errors, such as random polygons being deleted and the entire bowl disappearing.
The original bowl was modeled in SolidWorks and I've tried importing it directly into Maya using a plug-in and also saving it as an .fbx in modo then importing that. Neither way of getting the file into Maya has worked.
I'm creating a face, but what I want is to have whatever happens on the right to happen on the left, instead of clicking each point to move the edges. I tried just cutting the face in half and duplicating, but I don't know how to flip second copy.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm sure I have accidently set some mode that does this, but when I select a face and do a move function, the entire object moves instead of just that 1 face.
The entire object turns yellow when selected, or yellow/red depending on the size/shape.
So I have a lofted surface (see image below) that I created with 2 curves. I created one curve, then duplicated it, moved it down the y axis, and lofted them together forming a shell looking object.
What I want to do now is fill in the "hole" in the middle. How would I go about doing that? I've been looking around but nothing has worked.
is there a way to change a lofted surface into a polygon?

I would like a mist to cover the picture and then float away, and the water in the lake to "shimmer" or make it look as if it is "moving"...kind of like you were looking at a video clip, not a static picture.
Is this something I would do in any of the creative suite programs? or studio 8 programs? or is it something completely different.
Running Ulead Video studio 10 Plus and have used it well for the last few years, on Windows Vista Home ed. Have put the audio on to the project as i always have and ever had any problems wih it. Now though it will only play the sound when the audio clip is selected and not when project is selected, although the coloured lines move on the mixer in both sourround sound and non-surround sound when project is selected.

In the tutorial that we are going through, we are asked to select 2 curves, center the pivot point, and then hit the 'Insert' key to allow us to move the pivot point, and then holding down the 'C' key we should be able to move the pivot point along the curve.
Looking around we found that if you hit the 'fn + left arrow' keys you are meant to get the same as using the 'insert' key on the PC, but this is not right, and also when you try to hold down the 'C' key it does not allow the pivot point to be constrained to the curve.
So where is the 'Insert' key on the Mac?
when i use my move tool n select my reference image the image don't move but the i think camera or shape of image moves , i want to move my reference image.

Ok, I have to select the definition data, to transform it and finally rebuild my surface.
I select them and simply move it.
mmm. Something is wrong. Maybe a bug... I have 12 duplicate points (false) , I have missing points, I have a crossed two breaklines.
The data used is very simple, 15 breaklines, 50 points (so there is no reason to think on big data problems...) I have nothing at edit branch.
Is it possible to apply a visor brush on a whole surface ?
For example, I would like to put grass on a whole plane directly, without having to use the brush to paint the object.
Any way to fix this (Picture 1) in either at the poly or subd stage. I have experimented with bevel and can reduce it but is there a way to smooth it out completely.

PROBLEM #2: Cannot create wireframe rendering of geometry with surface Shader + mib_ambient_occlusion as in earlier versions of Maya.
I have used Quad Draw to create geometry on the surface of an object, this geometry and its pivot can be seen in picture 1.I then try to mirror this geometry to the other side of the object's surface using the settings shown in picture 2
I get a mirror, but not based on the pivot, but it seems the mirrored geometry wants to be attached to the original drawn polys as shown on picture 3. Could it be a bug or is this how Quad Drawn objects are intended to behave?
