btw, who forgot to implement the use of Illustrators colours into the transparency grid feature, leaving it using the Mac OS X UI colour pickers is a bizarre choice.

I've just started to use color labels and I noticed that in grid view some show up as a pale color and some show up as a darker color even when set to the same label color. I can't find a rhyme or reason to this. Why this happens?
View 4 Replies View RelatedUnderstanding that composite volumes are typically more accurate, I have a reason to evaluate the volume between two surfaces via a grid volume. Easily created a grid volume surface using a 50' grid (50' is large for this site, but wanted to get a feel for calculation time).
Question: Can you change the grid size without creating a new grid surface? Ultimately I woud like to explore the difference in volumes based on grid sizing without creating a long list of surfaces. One would expect that you could chage the grid spacing in surface properties, but the values are non-editable.
I just bought the Sony DSC-RX100 camera. I do a lot of landscapes. Will Lightroom zoom in and crop without distorting the image nor changing the ratio?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the attached, I've placed red circles around areas where I would like to start paths that will be thicker when they start (so that they look like they connect in a seamless way from the decorative swashes around the pre-existing, diamond shape in the middle of the page) and then get thinner as they go on. How do I do that so it gets realistic?
Also, how do you vary it genereally? I may want to thicken the paths again when they end.
I know how to use the pen tool decently but at the starting points I can't seem to get things to look like they realistically join what's already there.
I have a finished floor plan with 5.5" thick walls, but now i want to make all my walls thicker without changing the size of my rooms. What i can do to achieve this. I tried locking the wall dimensions before changing their thickness but it still shrunk my room sizes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI wrote an app some time ago that swaps out user parameters that drive sheet metal thickness and bend radius.
it appears to work about 60% of the time when it doesn't it does not give any warning but even though the FX table shows the new user parameters driving thickness and bend radius the "sheet metal defaults dialog" thickness input box is grayed out and shows no value what so ever. Clicking the Edit Sheet metal rule to display the "Style and Standard Edtior" the Thickness and Bendradius still show the Old userparameters. See attached Pic.
I am setting the parameters as follows.
Replaced "Chan_Th" with "chn_thk" in FX Userparameters
then...
oSheetMetalCompDef.UseSheetMetalStyleMaterial = True oSheetMetalCompDef.ActiveSheetMetalStyle.Thickness = sThick
As you can see FX reports the change but sheet metal settings does not.
This code appears to work or not at random.
I recently purchased premier pro 6 after working with Inkscape and GIMP for awhile. I am trying to figure out some things that I used to be able to do in Inkscape. In Inkscape, you could change the thickness of a calligraphy stroke based on the speed that the cursor moved. It was called "thinning".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using LR 3.6 and have imported several RAW images. In some of these images, there is a bright blue background that looks great in LR. When I export to JPEG using the sRGB color space, however, it turns a sickly purple-blue that looks terrible. I've tried exporting to JPEG with sRGB, AdobeRGB (1998), and ProPhoto RGB color spaces. When I use the AdobeRGB (1998) color space the JPEG looks better than the sRGB equivelant, but still not as brilliant as in LR. When I use the ProPhoto RGB color space, the JPEGs look the same as they do in LR (which is what I want). If I export them all using ProPhoto RGB color space, will the exported JPEGs look much different on the web than they do on my desktop? What are the risks of exporting in the ProPhoto RGB as opposed to sRGB?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way in LR4.1 for me to change the background color where the top text is displayed on thumbnails in the library? Currently, mine appears to be light (or medium-ish) gray, with the first line in black and the second line in a gray that's very hard to read against the slightly lighter gray background.
I"d like to either make the second line text black (like the first line) and/or the background lighter so it's easier to read both lines.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having this problem whenever I synchronize a folder that images have been added into.
Example: I have a folder of images in LR; I export all those images with a watermark, resized, etc. into a separate folder of proofs; even though I performed that batch process using LR, for some reason the app still won't see those images until I synchronize; when I do synchronize, it is shifting the color temp to +8 and the tint to -11; I then have to go back and undo that color temp shift.
How do I get LR to stop changing the color temp of images when synchronizing?
The color space on the selected images appears to be changing when I use the Lightroom flash gallery in the web module of LR4.1. This stays the same when the gallery is uploaded. In previous version of LR I have seen color changes in the web module but they have been corrected (and correct) when the gallery is uploaded to the 'net.
I have read that this was (previously) a problem with the flash gallery specifically becuase it was not colour magaded, but I understood that this had been corrected for LR4. As far as my use is concerned it's actually more problematic now than it has been previously.
I want to take my out of camera image, which is at 314ppi at about 9x12 and crop it to 8x10 at 300ppi. But, when I go to the crop tool, and click 8x10 preset, the resolution is set at 72ppi, and i can't see how to change that. So, the preset crop tool gives an outline of the crop area that is very small. The picture itself when it comes up is something like 33 " x 38" at 72ppi. If I go into resize image, it gets time consuming; you'd think I could just select the 8x10 preset at 300ppi and get a file that is about 2400 x 3000 ppi....8x10, 300ppi.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've created a 2-point persective grid on top of a cube (see image below). I'm tyring to recreate the cube and have started by inserting some purple squares into the right side of the perspective grid. I've drawn an ellipse at the corner of the original cube that I'm trying to copy, to indicate where I need my squares to stretch to.
How I can stretch my purple squares in perspective so that they match the end of the orignal cube as indicated in the image below? I've tried skewing but this doesn't skew in perspective.
Getting a keyboard short cut to this (changing the crop tool from landscape to portrait and back).
It's the only tool change in my workflow that I have to use a mouse for and it really slows me down as I'm changing it all the time - but for the life of me I can't find a way to create a keyboard shortcut!
