My spot removal tool in Lightroom 5 does not appear to be working correctly. When using the tool, it does not show the second circle indicating where it is sampling from and, therefore, I cannot manually move to sample from another place. Do I need to reset something?
View 4 RepliesI have a Photoshop action that, amongst other things, performs various fill-type operations on parts of an image. I want to run the action on a number different images, but I need to select different parts depending on the image.
Is there a way that I can manually position the cursor (i.e pick the correct area to process) while running the action? Or do I have to break the action up into shorter actions and do the fills manually in between?
The new ability to allow duplication of an adjustment brush marker is great, but I can't seem to find a way to place/move the duplicate. It seems to just get dropped right overtop of the original which makes it completely indistinguishable. Seems the only way to access the original marker(s) underneath is to delete the one(s) on top. Am I missing something?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIm trying to place sample lines along a very sinuous alignment and about a third of the way down all of a sudden the little tracking marker jumps to what seems like thousands of kilometers away and starts tracking along some invisible alignment which does not exist?
I have tried everything I can think of from every type of sample line creation option to recreating the alignment and auditing the drawing. Nothing I do creates different results. Is this an alignment issue and being cause by all the tight bends?
I was working with Elements 7 and have switched to the new Elements 11.
I used to be able to minimize my images and have them on my workspace side-by-side. I liked the convenience of dragging and dropping as well as seeing things right beside each other.
I can't figure out how to do it with PSE11.
Is there a way to return the work area bar to automatic after you move it manually? I know about the alt-click to expand to teh entire work area but that is not returng it to the auto mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedImagine working with a photo of a purse that has a handle. The handle is upright letting you see background space above and below the strap. I need to cut the purse, strap included, from the rest of the picture. Then I have to save it on its own. I am not moving the cut out purse to a new picture to place it on.
How do I do this? Is there something that has to be done to the picture first, (bachground, layer, etc.) before even selecting the right PCS6 tool? What is the best tool to use?

Before an import I try to drag around images and they don't drag.

No images are selected. I'm at a loss.
I have recently downloaded Photoshop CC, Bridge and Lightroom 5.2 64 bit and am suffering with terrible performance issues. Initially both photoshop and lightroom worked really well but after only a couple of days and only a few hundred images being imported into lightroom I can no longer use lightroom.
The computer works fine prior to me opening lightroom, I can use all programs, open files and folders with no issue. However as soon as I have opened Lightroom then the whole system grinds to a hault. Lightroom is unresponsive and the rest of the system practically freezes, it took over an hour to open a folder containing roughly 100 JPEGs. When closing the laptop I have to manually close background programs because they are also unresponsive.
The computer has 6Gb RAM, 500GB HDD and a dual core processor so there is ample power to cope with this program on my system.
My assistant and I work simultaneously from different laptops (and, therefore, different LR catalogs), and I'd like to be able to transfer the 'Develop' changes she makes to the RAW images in her catalog to the same RAW images in my master catalog. I figured one way to do this is to manually save the metadata from the RAW images she works on and apply that metadata to the same RAW images on my computer. I've successfully exported her metadata as .xmp files, but how do I open that data in LR on my computer so that it applies to the images in my catalog?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to PSE 12. So now all my organisation folders are under the "keyword" tag. And I have a lot of them. Of course they are organized in folder/subfolders. And the main ones are "places" "events". The same as the default ones in pse.
So is it possible to move categories/directories from the keyword tag to event/place/people tags (drag and drop doesn't work).
I just downloaded the LR4.x -> LR 5 installer from this website, but I can't install it. Each time I try to extract the installer, it fails. I downloaded it 5 times, using 3 different browsers... It does not fail exactly at the same moment (12%, 32%, 23%) but il fails anyway.
I also tried to open the package with winzip, and extract the file manually. Same thing, files can't be extracted as they seem to be corrupted.
most of my crops are set for custom. i want an 8x10 print. if i change the aspect ratio from custom to 4.5/8x10 it screws up my crop completely. that means that i cannot upload to an online website, be printed automatically and have it come out the way it want. but can that custom crop image be printed 8x10 manually?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop, you can set the size of the eyedropper to sample a single pixel, 3x3 average of 9 pixels, 5x5, 11x11, etc. It can make a big difference when sampling a single pixel as opposed to the average of a larger area.
Can the sample size be set in LightRoom?
If not, what is the sample size in LR when you run your cursor over the image? Does this vary depending on the displayed magnification of the image?
LR 4.3 down samples my photos when I export a slideshow to pdf or video. I've tried 1080p,720p, 960x540, 720x480 for video. I can only H.264, nothing else. I use an ID plate (photo frame) and music. Everything works fine when I play the slideshow in LR.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was just using LR 4.3 (trial) to edit some photos in a collection I exported previously, but now when I use the Clone or Heal brush - the selection and sample circles are missing and not shown. As soon as I click on the spot to clone/heal out, it is immediately changed and I cannot tell where the sample is taken from. If I move my cursor to the area again, it changes to the double-pointing arrow to resize the edit circle and I can adjust it but the edges of the circle are not shown - only the area of pixels change. There is no difference if I left click or tap the touchpad on my laptop to apply the clone/heal.
I had installed the Nik Software package 1.0.0.7 in the mean time, and considering that may be the cause - uninstalled it and rebooted. The issue remained. I uninstalled LR 4.3 and rebooted, installed LR 4.4 and tested again - still the issue remains. I am not sure what else to test. Running on fresh Win 7 install (64bit) on ASUS UX32VD laptop.

I LOVE the fact that we now have ability to create a non-circular shape with the Spot Removal tool (Q). But one of my favorite things about it previously (LR4 & previous) was you could click-drag to create a spot & drag to the sample area you wanted in ONE step. Now, obviously, if you click-drag you get a non-circular shape. So if you want just a circular spot you have to click... wait for it to select a sample area on it's own... and then either (a) drag that sample area where you want it, or (b) hit "/" to change sample area guesses until it grabs one you like.
SO... I wonder if there's any way, like a keyboard shortcut or key hold-down, that allows you to click-drag a circle spot to get the sample you want in one step, like we could previously....?
I have bought an Easycap capture device and it is installed properly. However when I try to capture video from VHS I get the message "The sample start time is after the sample end time"

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS6. I have a question about Photoshop command Place.(File- Place) . Here are some pictures below. It shows the problem.
I opened the PSD file that has a green circle(picture 1) and using Place command to import other PSD file that has a red circle(picture2). Those 2 PSD files are same size, same canvas size, 1024x1024. So it should place the red circle precisely on the green circle, but as you can see, if I import the red circle PSD into Green circle PSD, Place command won't place the red circle pensively on the green circle. There is a gap between those 2 circles.(Picture3) It's really frustrating, because I have to move the red circle layer manually to place it just onto the green circle.
This command "Place" isn't reliable, so usually I don't use this command, and use Duplicate layer or group to import contents of other PSD, but if Place command can import other PSD file without this gap problem, I will use it because it's much faster than duplicating.
Do you know why and how to place those 2 files without the gap? Is it a glitch? I should not use Place command to import other PSD file?
I cut and paste in place from a layer to an other and its not in the right place. it seems new since CS6
I have multiple artworks on my file but i could do it since then. do you now how to not talke care of it ?
We're now at the end of V4 and pushing V5. So, how do I do the equivalent of the File/Place in Bridge?

To me. It is more logic to place the new collection in to the selected collection set and not next to .
1. "Failed to find a place for the imported files"
2. "not recognized"
When seting up a Export/User Preset can you have Lightroom 4 move the photograph into a collection at the same time?
