In Photoshop, you can set the size of the eyedropper to sample a single pixel, 3x3 average of 9 pixels, 5x5, 11x11, etc. It can make a big difference when sampling a single pixel as opposed to the average of a larger area.
Can the sample size be set in LightRoom?
If not, what is the sample size in LR when you run your cursor over the image? Does this vary depending on the displayed magnification of the image?
It is possible to adjust in Photoshop the size and density of a tool when using shorcuts (ALT + right-click and various mouvement of the mouse or stylus).
Is there anything similar in LR5 to avoid permanent back and forth to the menu.
Is there a way to increase the size of the "Lens Flare" sample? I tried to set a couple of lens flares on a pic I'm working on, but the sample is so small I cannot see where the flare is winding up until I click ok and the flare shows on the pic (and is a mile off)
I need to see if there is a way to either enlarge the 'sample' or get the flare to show on the pic so I an see where to place it exactly. I've found several other 'sample(s)' windows are far too small to do any good... surely there has to be some way to enlarge them?
Or at least to get the Flare to show on the big pic like some of the other filters do as you use them.
When looking for a font to use, a SAMPLE of font displays along side of the fonts list but in CS6 i can not find the Size option for the SAMPLE list, in other versions it use to be in preferences , is it a lost cause searching for it (no longer available in CS6).the sample is so small it's hard to see

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working now on a project with canvas size A4 (5600x4200).i'm working with large objects and small objects each in its own layer.i wanted to align few object in a certain way and i wanted to use the grid for this.however the grid is so small and can only be seen using 66% and more zoom in. which makes it impossible to align the object since i can't see all of them together.
is there any way to adjust the grid to be in proportion to the correct zoom or not window ? as a workaround i found is the grid plugin , but with it i must recreate the grid for each zoom size and its hard to work like this. having the grid adjusted automatically or at least allow max/min setting for it so it can be seen in an A4 size canvas.

Once the images are edited, cropped / etc. as we want, using a photo program, then saved to the project folder, we insert them to the CAD file. We use the GRIPS to dynamically adjust the image size, snapping to line work.
Problem ... no more GRIPS. We can no longer figure out how to dynamically adjust the image size. Imageframe is set to "1". We could do math calculations to get it sized ... but ... we didn't have to do that with ACAD 2009 on WinXP.
All of my brushes are incredibly small. How do I adjust these back to normal size?

We have found that the SketchBook Designer add-on, part of the suite of programs in the upgrade, is apparently the problem. If we disable that add-on, then the grips once again are there and work as they should.
I am posting this here so that the powers-that-be at AutoDesk will hopefully add this item to their list of glitches that need to be resolved.
I found in image i am trying to expand to almost a 9 inch by 9 inch. When i increase the size it obviously gets extremely grainy and blurry. It is the only image i could find of this particular photo.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on basin areas for a very large project area When I use the catchment option, it will give me the immediate area around the point I have selected sometimes no more than a acre, and it is obvious that the contributing area extends well beyond the lines of the catchment area. Is there a way to adjust the catchment area to a minimum size so it will look beyond the immediate contribution and search for the actual basin area, or am I just wishing/dreaming?

So I would like to enhance the width of the layer to prevent this. When I add width to the layer using "Layer Boundary Size" menu item, text layer gets converted into standard bitmap layer . I don't understand the logic why a text layer isn't preserved on change of its size .

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was just using LR 4.3 (trial) to edit some photos in a collection I exported previously, but now when I use the Clone or Heal brush - the selection and sample circles are missing and not shown. As soon as I click on the spot to clone/heal out, it is immediately changed and I cannot tell where the sample is taken from. If I move my cursor to the area again, it changes to the double-pointing arrow to resize the edit circle and I can adjust it but the edges of the circle are not shown - only the area of pixels change. There is no difference if I left click or tap the touchpad on my laptop to apply the clone/heal.
I had installed the Nik Software package 1.0.0.7 in the mean time, and considering that may be the cause - uninstalled it and rebooted. The issue remained. I uninstalled LR 4.3 and rebooted, installed LR 4.4 and tested again - still the issue remains. I am not sure what else to test. Running on fresh Win 7 install (64bit) on ASUS UX32VD laptop.

I LOVE the fact that we now have ability to create a non-circular shape with the Spot Removal tool (Q). But one of my favorite things about it previously (LR4 & previous) was you could click-drag to create a spot & drag to the sample area you wanted in ONE step. Now, obviously, if you click-drag you get a non-circular shape. So if you want just a circular spot you have to click... wait for it to select a sample area on it's own... and then either (a) drag that sample area where you want it, or (b) hit "/" to change sample area guesses until it grabs one you like.
SO... I wonder if there's any way, like a keyboard shortcut or key hold-down, that allows you to click-drag a circle spot to get the sample you want in one step, like we could previously....?

For some purposes, you can find a way around this, but it is a pain when working on a project that requires perfect precision.
The topic has been brought up before, but I'm hoping to hear of any news on the possibility of implementing it. I don't assume there has been made any plugins to cater this need since earlier posts on the matter, so I'm hoping to persuade developers to implement the feature in a new version of paint.net instead.
If you need to know more specifically what I'm looking for, then it's basically what you have in Adobe Illustrator or any decent 3D modelling software you will ever come across. It would work pretty much exactly like the grid already in place, except you would not be limited to working only with individual pixels, but rather groups of pixels as you zoom further out. The grid would preferably have thicker lines every 5, 10 or 15 lines, etc. for user to position the various elements.
I'm being asked to provide images in 800X600 72dpi. Is there a way to adjust dpi when exporting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn development mode, any adjustments I make on the sliders on the right have no effect to the picture. Sometimes the picture greys out and I have to try and click on a different picture below for it to show up again. The grey screen comes up if I try and crop and image as well. It feels like it's not letting me make any adjustment to the layer.
It was working fine a month ago. Had a client ask for a picture so started up LR4 and experienced the above problem.I have tried the following.
1. Created new catalogue, import new images. Still can't edit the pictures. Moving the sliders around and has no effect to the picture.
2. Unistalled LR4 and Reinstalled LR4 but still no change.
In the Print Adjustment panel of the Print module, what do the numbers, which go from -100 to +100 really mean?Exposure slider in the Develop Module, which are, I believe, fractions of an f/stop?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been reading online that lightroom has the ability to control sliders in the develop module by simply hovering over the slider and scrolling. However this doesn't appear to be working for me. Whenever I hover over a slider and scroll, Lightroom attempts to scroll the right panel.
My system configuration:
Mac
OSx mountain lion
Lightroom 4 (latest update)
tried for raw and JPG files
tried using the macbook pro 2 finger scroll, a microsoft USB mouse and a MacAlley USB mouse
is there anything special I need to do to make this work?
