It is possible to adjust in Photoshop the size and density of a tool when using shorcuts (ALT + right-click and various mouvement of the mouse or stylus).
Is there anything similar in LR5 to avoid permanent back and forth to the menu.

In Photoshop, you can set the size of the eyedropper to sample a single pixel, 3x3 average of 9 pixels, 5x5, 11x11, etc. It can make a big difference when sampling a single pixel as opposed to the average of a larger area.
Can the sample size be set in LightRoom?
If not, what is the sample size in LR when you run your cursor over the image? Does this vary depending on the displayed magnification of the image?
I have some files that were originally edited in LR3. They appear in my LR5 library, but with the old LR3 density tools (i.e. 'fill light' and 'highlght rescue'). How to I switch to the LR5 density mode (i.e. 'shadows' and 'highlights')?

View 5 Replies View RelatedClone tool has never acted like the demos show it too. This is how it has worked in CS3, 4, 5. I see all the demos that show it working as I would think it should. In reality all I have ever gotten is cloned items which are visually close but are always lighter or darker.
That is light items clone even lighter, about an f stop worth and dark items clone even darker about 1.5 f stops it seems. In fact it will clone white and black just fine but is really almost impossible to get accuate work around neutrals such as skin. After months of various reading and tonight alone I have spent 5 hours of settings and variations trying to get accurate work to no avail. Am I using the wrong tool?
I find I can get accurate clone if I select an area, Control J a layer and then move it and put it in w/ healing or such as necessary. Why must clone adjust things?
Is it possible to scroll through the individual tools in the tool bar using keyboard shortcuts.
I know how to scroll through the subtools using hte shift key but not sure if it is possible to scroll through the entore tool bar.

I am working with a PC. I have even tried using a built in font to ensure the problem was not that the font of choice not having the accents I was looking for.
I've used Photoshop 7 for around a year now, using it mainly to touch up digital photos. I've just upgraded to Photoshop CS, but I've found that I'm having difficulties with my keyboard.
Usually, to zoom in, I can press CTRL + +. However, when I do this, nothing happens. Also, when I make a mistake with the magnetic lasso tool, I can usually press my Delete key to undo the last fixed point. Again, this doesn't work. All that is on on my keyboard is "Number Lock", which just allows me to use the right hand number keypad. Even with this off, the problems still aren't solved.
Any way to set the character leading setting so that it auto-adjusts when you adjust font size? I think my Ps used to do that. Now, whenever I change font size, I have to adjust the leading, too.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working now on a project with canvas size A4 (5600x4200).i'm working with large objects and small objects each in its own layer.i wanted to align few object in a certain way and i wanted to use the grid for this.however the grid is so small and can only be seen using 66% and more zoom in. which makes it impossible to align the object since i can't see all of them together.
is there any way to adjust the grid to be in proportion to the correct zoom or not window ? as a workaround i found is the grid plugin , but with it i must recreate the grid for each zoom size and its hard to work like this. having the grid adjusted automatically or at least allow max/min setting for it so it can be seen in an A4 size canvas.

We use the GRIPS to dynamically adjust the image size, snapping to line work.
Problem ... no more GRIPS. We can no longer figure out how to dynamically adjust the image size. Imageframe is set to "1". We could do math calculations to get it sized ... but ... we didn't have to do that with ACAD 2009 on WinXP.
All of my brushes are incredibly small. How do I adjust these back to normal size?

We regularly use screen-shot .bmp images from a map site to do our location maps ... and .bmp images for a rendering on the cover sheet. Once the images are edited, cropped / etc. as we want, using a photo program, then saved to the project folder, we insert them to the CAD file. We use the GRIPS to dynamically adjust the image size, snapping to line work.
Problem: There are no GRIPS.
We have found that the SketchBook Designer add-on, part of the suite of programs in the upgrade, is apparently the problem. If we disable that add-on, then the grips once again are there and work as they should.
I am posting this here so that the powers-that-be at AutoDesk will hopefully add this item to their list of glitches that need to be resolved.
Our logo designer has gone back to turkey and the communication is a little hard. Now I tried to gimp around, but I wasn't able to recreate the same shape.

I ALREADY KNOW you can use the "[" and "]" to change the size of the spot removal circle. BUT, I'm trying to get LR to work as much like Photoshop as possible 'cause the inconsistencies on small things is a surprisingly large hit to productivity.....
In PS I can change the size of the clone or heal using Alt and the mouse. Change both size AND opacity.
Is this buried somewhere in LR? If not, is there a way for me to define this command in the translatedstrings file?
I am using Illustrator CS5 Blob Brush Tool with a Wacom Cintiq tablet. I would like to be able to vary brush size by assigning a keyboard shortcut to the express keys or touch strip of the tablet. The only keyboard short-cut I can find is Shift+B. which just takes me to the Blob Brush Tool window. Is there a way to vary brush size on the fly by using up/down arrows, etc.?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working on basin areas for a very large project area When I use the catchment option, it will give me the immediate area around the point I have selected sometimes no more than a acre, and it is obvious that the contributing area extends well beyond the lines of the catchment area. Is there a way to adjust the catchment area to a minimum size so it will look beyond the immediate contribution and search for the actual basin area, or am I just wishing/dreaming?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a text layer with width given at its creation. When I later open text editor and enter some wider text, it is wrapped to second line. So I would like to enhance the width of the layer to prevent this. When I add width to the layer using "Layer Boundary Size" menu item, text layer gets converted into standard bitmap layer . I don't understand the logic why a text layer isn't preserved on change of its size .
Is there a way how I can adjust size of text layer without its conversion to a bitmap?
