May 2, 2013I recently purchased VS X6 Ultimate. I had been using X4 Pro. I chose the full install not the upgrade version of the software.
While using X4 for a while, the program would not burn a BluRay or AVCHD disk in Dolby 5.1 no matter what settings I chose. It would only burn in "Stereo". VS X4 DID burn these disks in Dolby 5.1 for a long time then it just stopped. I always selected Dolby 5.1 from tools or settings menu at the top of the program (I forget which one as I am not at the computer I use for VS). Also when burning my disk I select Dolby Digital 3/2 and 448kps.
When the disk was played back in my BluRay player, it only showed two channel stereo.
Then I upgraded to X6 Ultimate and the same thing happens! Yesterday I burned a short 16 min video consisting of mostly still photos, some HD video, and music tracks and transitions. I made all the "correct" selections to produce in Dolby 5.1 and the disk, when played in my BluRay player is again in Stereo. I have tried other disks to ensure my BluRAy player and home entertainment system is not faulty. The system readily shows Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 for studio produced disks.

Jul 6, 2012I'm using the free trial version of Videostudio X5 and have 3 video files I am trying to burn to a BD-R disk. The files are H.264 and when I preview it before burning, the menu I created works fine. One of the three files is large, over 9gb. When I burn the disk, the large video file is not burning correctly. When I go into that file from the menu, it just loops back to the first menu item. I tried burning just the large file to a BD-R and it worked fine. The total project size is around 17 gb so I'm under the 25 gb limit. I think the next thing I'll try is breaking the large video file into two files. I'd like to buy the software if I can get past this glitch.

Feb 16, 2013I am trying to burn a non-HD project onto a Blu-Ray Disk and every time after the video/audio stage I get the "unspecified error" message. I have now wasted 6 Blu-ray disks trying to solve this problem. I have reloaded the software and uploaded the patch. I have checked and all my drivers are up to date.
Files are not corrupted as I have checked. I have even tried this on a 16 second video and it fails. I can burn it to DVD but the quality is poor. I have tried reducing the speed to the lowest setting at 4X. It is writing to the BD-R as mentioned but the content is not recognized. If I write it to a Blu-ray file it appears to work.
Lightroom :: Delete Images From Disk
Oct 16, 2012I have LR 4.2 on Windows 7 x64 (having recently upgraded from LR3).After flagging images in a collection as rejected I want to remove them from disk.In LR3 I just clicked Ctrl + Backspace and I had the option to delete from disk or just remove from catalogue, I don't get that option in LR4
worked fine in LR3. I've searched the preferences and can't see any option, I've also clicked "reset all dialogues" in case that was hiding the option but still nothing. I've tried in Library and Develop and no option still, I can only remove from catalog

May 28, 2012when I hit CMD and backspace, in order to delete images from disk, I only have the option to 'remove' photos. Up until tonight I always had to choose whether to remove them or delete from disk. Not sure what has changed or what I have done wrong, it's always worked before. I'm using an imac and LR4.

Apr 28, 2013I know that I have on occasion gotten stupid and selected "Remove" after marking images as rejected, when I meant to select Delete From Disk. I believe this means I have image files on my hard drive that no longer appear in the Lightroom catalog, but I don't want them at all. I meant to move them to the trash bin, but, like I said, just hit the wrong button for some reason.
Is there any way I can search for images still in my folders on my hard drive (where I save them when imported in Lightroom) that no longer appear in my catalog? I'd like to clean up my hard drive before transfering images to a new computer.
Lightroom :: 4.3 Corrupts RAW Images Stored On Local SSD Hard Disk
Mar 23, 2013Using Lightroom 4.3 with Camera RAW 7.3 on latest MacBook Pro with 256 GB SSD harddisk, 8 GB internal memory bought 2 months ago. Hardware shows no other problems or malfunctioning, no issues with RAM or otherwise.
Started Lightroom 4.3 did an import from perfect images (viewed before using various other software packages) stored on the harddisk. Used option ADD to add to the catalog. Almost immediately certain images were showing missing areas or areas with pink/white stripes, etc.
I didn't even touch the images to view or edit them. The images were corrupted on disk as previewing them with other software packages showed.

Aug 31, 2012I keep all my image folders in one Master Catalog on one disk.
My system of filing is to have a main folder, say "Airshows", with sub folders named "Original-RAW Files" and "Finished Files".
Each sub folder is then further sub divided into "Show 1", "Show 2", "Show 3", etc.
This system also enable me to duplicate my files in such a way that they can be accessed by programmes other than Lightroom.
I also like to make Collections of specific planes which appear and therefore the Collections can include images taken at any number of individual shows but as LR3 keeps the Folders and the Collections in different sections, this entails looking in two different locations for any images taken at Airshows.Another disadvantage is that I believe LR Collections cannot be accessed by other third party programmes should I wish to change from Adobe.
I would like maintain my current filing system (which suits my purposes), but wish to find a way to file say,"Spitfire" Collection as "AirshowFinished FilesSpitfire" so that all files are kept together.
Is there a way to achieve this without resorting to making duplicate image files ?
Lightroom :: Selecting Images In Library Module When Multiple Images Are In View
Dec 3, 2012I've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.

For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Oct 29, 2011I'm going to move my image library, catalog and ACR cache to an external drive so that I can work with a consistent set of files and edits on multiple computers. I know what I need to do to move the catalog, and I know how to move the image files to the new drive so that LR is aware of the move.
But what I'd really like to do is copy the image files to the new drive while leaving the existing images on the internal drive as a backup. As far as I can tell, LR doesn't support copying of images within the program. If I copy the files outside of LR, without deleting the originals, LR is going to conitinue to point to the orignal files on the internal disk.
So, if I right click on a folder in the Library module folder tree, there's an option to Update Folder Location, and this seems to do what I need it to do, although I've only tried it on a single folder. Will Update Folder Location work to relink an entire folder tree in one operation?
One related question: Where does LR store it's preferences? One of the catalog specific preferences is Standard Preview Size. My desktop has much higher res monitors than my laptop, so if this setting is stored in the catalog then I'll have to pick one value for both computers. I'm thinking it would be better to use the larger value, for the desktop, but I'm not sure how that will play on the laptop. (It would be nice if this were computer specific, rather than catalog specific.)

Apr 18, 2012I am trying to burn multiple copies of a video I have produced. In the final screen to create a disk there is an option to choose multiple copies. I always select multiple copies and it burns the first one perfectly, the burner drawer opens and it asks me to provide another disk. When I do so I get the error: "Does not support burning of DVD-Video on Empty disc. Supports burning on DVD-R/DVD-R DL/DVD-RW/DVD+R DL/DVD+RW disc. Please insert another disc to continue, or click Cancel to stop the process."
The disk burner is a ASUS BW-12D1S-U.
This is quite frustrating as I seem to have to cancel each time and ask it to generate another disc, which I suspect is a longer process then just making multiple copies.

Nov 21, 2012Is there an easy way to apply multiple effects on a set of images or individual images, similiar to something like a preset in LightRoom.
For example, if I run the following effects I have to apply it to each image one effect at a time and repeat for each image that I want the exact same effects applied but would prefer to do it all in one go
Blur/(GPU) Gaussian Blur
Noise/Reduce Noise
Photo/Sharpen+
I use these to clean up the moire from scans and reduce dust/dirt then apply a mild sharpen effect to bring back the now softenend image back up slightly. Being able to have presets would be a real bonus for quick clean ups, of digital camera images or camera phone images
I found it by spending a bit more time looking through the menus, under the Effect menu and the Advanced tab and creating a custom effects script ......
But now would like to see if I can have a list of presets instead of having to load them through the script engine one at a time, maybe an option under the 'Effects/Presets' menu option listing all the scripts that are currently saved.
