Nov 25, 2013Does adding keywords in Lightroom embed to the photo file, so if it is uploaded to another program or website like flickr, the keywords will show up?

Jan 25, 2012Prior to replacemant of the mother board I did a backup of photos and data. But to start Lightroom again I had to reinstall Lightroom into the new hard drive.
Have got the photo files back and the list of keywords but they are not with the photos.
How can I restore the 2 or 3 keywords I had previously to each of the photos?

Aug 3, 2013As a photojournalist I upload my pictures to news agencies, using captions and keywords to add information to the files. While captions work fine, the keyword formation of Lightroom puts me in trouble, when I export the files to upload them to the agencies.
I would need the keywords to be separated by commas, like here:
Germany, Berlin, Angela Merkel, Politics
Unfortunately, when I export the images, Lightroom writes them without separation-commas (only puts the keywords in separate lines), like this:
Germany
Berlin
Angela Merkel
Politics

I tried adding the "Embed Image" command to the action with no luck. Is there a way to do this with a script or shortcut?

Sep 11, 2012I have been trying to export some files (all morning - note my frustration) to a new stock agency, but when I do a File>Export my Lightroom 4 generated Keywords are not in the files. I have tried to problem solve this on my own and looked online but I am having no luck at all. I am not very savy with all of this keywording protocol to start with. I am sure it is something simple like a box that needs to be checked or unchecked.

Mar 30, 2012Other than the cover template, there doesn't seem to be any page template that allows you to put type directly over a photo -- which can be a useful graphic technique. I know I could do it in Photoshop, and import it into Lightroom, but that wouldn't allow for easy chages in text type or color, etc. and would be an interruption of the book module's workflow. It would be nice to be able to add a text box to a page. Can it now be done and I just haven't found the way?

Mar 14, 2013Anytime I try to export a file and add a watermark, Lightroom crashes. I can export without adding a watermark just fine. Lightroom also crashes when I try to edit a current watermark - as soon as I click the drop down menu to choose which watermark to edit, down goes Lightroom. I have both text watermarks and a small jpeg as a watermark (same thing happens with both) and I am running Lightroom 4.3.

Aug 16, 2012Whenever I tell LR to edit a photo in PS (CS6), I get back a TIFF file that is 10X larger than the orginal RAW file, and I ultimetly delete it to save space (after first converting it to a jpeg). Why doesn't PS do LR style non-destructrive editing, i.e., why not simply return a record of the edits made in a format compatible with LR?

Nov 20, 2012Costco print services use Dry Creek Photo profiles. They ask that files be converted to color profiles in PS and say that embedded profiles will be ignored by their digital printers. I wonder if I can do this in LR4.2 without going to PS CS6.
In Lightroom 4.2, we can choose color profiles in the print module or in the export dialog. Do you know whether specifying a color profile in these will result in a converting or embedding of those files?

May 2, 2012For years I have been using Bridge and ACR for my raw workflow. I use only DNG files and have the database turned off so the EXIF data is embedded right into the original DNG file. This means my files are 100% portable without and sidecar.
Can I work with lightroom 4 without having a database? OR can I assure that each DNG file has all it's setting automatically embedded as it does in Bridge?

The string length exceeds the metadata standard lengths.
