Oct 12, 2012I have a lot of existing eps-files of which the option "embed all fonts" is unchecked. Know I have to check the "embed all fonts" in the existing eps-files. I tried to modify the script below, but it seems that the embedallfonts is NOT working.
When I do it manually (without script), then it works fine. With script, it doesn't work.

Another question will be: can I get a dialog box to put in the path to the eps-files, I can do thereafter it in batch instead of each time opening and closing a file.

Mar 31, 2012Is there an easy way to see what fonts are used in a X5 file without having to highlight each one? When I open windows > right click > properties > details, it tells me the first couple but I can't see them all.

The version that came with X4 worked in XP, but when I upgraded to Windows 7 it wouldn't install Type 1 fonts, and it wouldn't install any missing fonts when a file loaded. I buy Font Expert, though I never got it to work as well as the old FN.
But my new (trial) version of X5 has a version of the utility (v. 6.0.0, build 108) that seems to work just fine both ways. Thats a wonderful. When did this happen? There's a noticeable difference in the versions, according to xplorer2. X4's version:

I can no longer load X4's version; only v. 6.0.0 comes up, so I can't compare. But FN now works properly in X4, too, so Corel must have done something to address this. Cool.
CorelDRAW X6 :: Crashing Everytime When Open A File (created With X5) With Several Script Fonts?
Mar 28, 2012I was just trying the features of the new CorelDraw X6 recently. The first problem that I found was - it crashed when I tried to open a file (which was created using CorelDraw X5) with several Fonts (28 different script fonts used and there were only text in the file).
Then I again re-open corel X6 and when I tried to open the same file, it crashed again & again. I did this for 6 times with a crash everytime.
Then at the 7th time when I tried to open the same file in Corel X6, it just got hanged.The file is working fine (and opens quite fast) in Corel X5 as well as Corel X4.
I remeber similar problem happening with Corel X5 initially. Only after Service Pack 2 was made available for Corel X5, that problem solved. Is Corel X6 needs some patches too?
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Changing Fonts When File Is Emailed To Someone For Review
Mar 2, 2012I created a layout for a gravestone in Corel. I sent it to someone who also uses corel draw x4 and corel is changing the font in my drawing. I used fonts Ariel and Palatino Linotype. I don't know if the Palatino is a defaulted font in corel or I downloaded online. I have been doing this kind of work for awhile so I can't remember. I ended up telling her the font and font size for the text and she created it. Then she emailed it back to me for review as I was looking at the email of her printscreens the lines of text had more space between each text line and the dates had more space between them.
She even went so far as to do printscreens of them to review and they don't seem correct. I don't know if this info is useful but I printed from corel and they are priting correctly (line spacing correct, text good). why is corel wanting to change the font. Almost forgot the font corel was changing to was HP PSG which is a font I have in my list of fonts in corel. And it isn't just tjhis file. I created a one line text with a different font and sure enough she told me corel wanted to change the font again. I don't know if it was changing it to HP PSG. I wonder what would it change it to if I remove HP PSG. How do you remove a font from the list??

Under default color management:
Color Profiles: RGB= adobe RGB
cmyk use less than 1%
Primary color mode = RGB
Color Management polices:
RGB = assign default color profile
CYMK = convert to default color profile
grayscale = assign default color profile
import & paste:
RGB = assign default color profile
CYMK = convert to default color profile
grayscale = assign default color profile
Almost every time it wants to default to cymk , which i don't want as I use RGB

Sep 15, 2013I would like to create a master background layer that multiple pages will be built over, while retaining the ability to edit the master background layer after-the-fact which will automatically change all the subsequent pages.
Similar to how an include file would work on a webpage, ie: create the menu as an include file, then all pages that reference that include file would have their menus changed when that single include file gets modified.
Or another way of looking at it: like how headers/footers work in word, ie: change the header or footer and all pages in that document are automatically modified.

I think you should read the original mail again. Hint: "system fonts not shown" is not the problem, but the desired outcome.I have accidentally read a "not" into the original mail, thus it became "to get Gimp to *not* only show fonts from the user/fonts file"
The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.

Sep 19, 2013I have created a video on After Effects. The original duration was 1:02 (as long as the video), but the client requested to add one more layer so I added at the end.
At this part the music stops and you just see the text layer.
I previewed it on After Effects and everything was looking perfect.
I opened the 'Adobe Media Encoder' in order to render the composition. The exported file though stops when the music stops! @1:02!
I have tried to figure out if there was a problem with the settings, but I wasn't able to find anything.

Oct 29, 2012How do I include sideshots from a field book file in the adjustment of the traverse? In LDD you would import the FBK, then when imported, after defining loop you could check adjust loop to your specs. If it looked ok, you coould adjust loop, then when complete the command line asked if you wanted to adjust sideshots. You could select Yes or No and they would (or would not) be adjusted also. In Civil 3D 2013, I have imported the same FBK. When imported I have defined the traverse. I can then adjust the traverse to my specs, but it will not include the sideshots. The sideshots do not list in the Networks Non-Control Points list, so I am thinking this is my problem.
I have also edited the FBK to remove the traverse legs and just run as sideshots from the already adjusted loop values, but it still does not appear to work.

Jun 1, 2012We just updated from Draw X3 to Draw X5 on our 64-bit machines. We have one problem...We have two Helvetica types with exactly the same name, T1 Helvetica and TT Helvetica. In X3 we could have both fonts turned on, and it would let us use both fonts. Now in X5 when we have both fonts turned on it only allows us to use the T1 font. I am able to use TT, but I have to turn off the T1 in Font Navigator. I have read a lot of forums and understand that we should not have both T1 and TT, but our former worker used both font types, and we have to often go back and fix old files.
Is there a way in X5 to have both T1 and TT fonts show up like we have in X3?

Dec 13, 2012The culprit is security patch KB2753842 (12-11-12), in my case, in Windows 7, 64-bit, I have talked to Microsoft and reported this as an issue. In the meantime, hit a previous restore point and re-install all service patches except for the one above. Right click on the link to that patch and HIDE it. Then, update your antivirus and you're back to normal.
This also affects CorelDRAW X5 FWIW!

Apr 5, 2012I have a label type form that was created in CorelDraw 9 and now I am involved in a change to the document. I can open this form in Corel 9 no problem. When I try to open it in Corel X5 it says there are missing fonts. I have both programs on the same computer yet in X5 it can't find the fonts.
Some of the changes are adding things the where made in X5 and if I copy them into the original Corel 9 I can’t do anything with them, they are just there to look at.
I am trying to find the fonts from a free down load but all I see are 30 day trials.
In X5 I have tried to use the substitute fonts to find the correct fonts but they are not there.
What it wants are "Times New Roman CYL - Normal and Times New Roman CYL - Bold.

Almost every font has at least the simple bullet (0x95) and the middot (0xB7) included. And there are many non-symbol-fonts out there that contain interesting bullet-like characters.Why the restriction? For a more compact selection list? Corel, could we have a checkbox "[X] Symbol fonts only " to uncheck if one wants to choose from all installed fonts?
