The culprit is security patch KB2753842 (12-11-12), in my case, in Windows 7, 64-bit, I have talked to Microsoft and reported this as an issue. In the meantime, hit a previous restore point and re-install all service patches except for the one above. Right click on the link to that patch and HIDE it. Then, update your antivirus and you're back to normal.
This just happened, I shut down and rebooted my computer as it has been a while since i turned it off. When I restarted and launched Corel I found that some of my fonts were missing. In particular Arial, which is my default font, was no longer in the list and was replaced by some other random font. I opened Font Navigator and saw that arial was not in the list of installed fonts, so I had to reinstall it. I checked my windows font list and Arial was installed. This has happened before but I didn't too much attention to it. why corel would just randomly drop fonts?
I have had Corel X6 on my computer for a few months and have been making signs just fine with no major problems. However, last week it started getting rid of my text completely if I click on the pick tool or off of the text itself. The text does not hi-lite like it usually does with a box around it, but there is a small black box on the bottom left corner. we cannot make any signs without this program. I even uninstalled and re installed the entire program and still have the same problem.
I just installed X5 (and whatever patches/updates I could find) but I'm still having a problem with my layers info disappearing. I have to close the program, reopen and sometimes repeat before the layers reappear.

I have just upgraded from X4 to X6 and found that when using the paint tool, the cursor disappears at the end of the action, and appears again when the cursor is moved again. This happens when the user interface setting is set to 'Shape cursor for brush tools".
More of a concern for me is when the Eyedropper tool is set to 'Select sample', (the one I always use), no rubber rectangle is drawn to show the area that is being sampled. That is, it is supposed to draw a dynamic rectangle in a similar way that the rectangular mask tool selects an area with a rectangle changing size with movement of the cursor. The eyedropper samples the correct pixels, but does not draw the enclosing rectangle.I have tried running it in all comparability modes except for 256 color and 640 x 480 resolution, which aren't options for me.
X4 didn't exhibit these problems so I can't understand how it can't be a bug, especially since the rectangular mask tool draws the rubber-banding rectangle without a problem. At this point would be preferring to be using X4.
My colleague just reminded me to one, very often appearing, situation - u get pdf with embedded fonts and u need that pdf opened in CD but don't have fonts?
We just updated from Draw X3 to Draw X5 on our 64-bit machines. We have one problem...We have two Helvetica types with exactly the same name, T1 Helvetica and TT Helvetica. In X3 we could have both fonts turned on, and it would let us use both fonts. Now in X5 when we have both fonts turned on it only allows us to use the T1 font. I am able to use TT, but I have to turn off the T1 in Font Navigator. I have read a lot of forums and understand that we should not have both T1 and TT, but our former worker used both font types, and we have to often go back and fix old files.
Is there a way in X5 to have both T1 and TT fonts show up like we have in X3?
Some fonts are having issues on X6 that we didn't have with these same fonts on X3.Below is a sample of some fonts: Arial, Garamond, Nuance, Impact. This issue seems to be present in most if not all of our PCs.
I recently purchased 'Sinzano' font from MyFonts, and I cannot access the specialized glyphs that give this font its distinctive flair. Any tricks to getting the characters(which I can see)in character map to my fonts ?
How accurate is the Document Properties information. I have several files that report containing various fonts only I can't find the fonts in the documents. What's the best way of locating particular fonts within documents. The Find dialogue is tedious to use given that we need to manually move from one page to another. Is there an alternative?
I have a label type form that was created in CorelDraw 9 and now I am involved in a change to the document. I can open this form in Corel 9 no problem. When I try to open it in Corel X5 it says there are missing fonts. I have both programs on the same computer yet in X5 it can't find the fonts.
Some of the changes are adding things the where made in X5 and if I copy them into the original Corel 9 I can’t do anything with them, they are just there to look at.
I am trying to find the fonts from a free down load but all I see are 30 day trials.
In X5 I have tried to use the substitute fonts to find the correct fonts but they are not there.
What it wants are "Times New Roman CYL - Normal and Times New Roman CYL - Bold.
Why can only symbol fonts be used for bullets in X6?
Almost every font has at least the simple bullet (0x95) and the middot (0xB7) included. And there are many non-symbol-fonts out there that contain interesting bullet-like characters. Why the restriction? For a more compact selection list? Corel, could we have a checkbox "[X] Symbol fonts only " to uncheck if one wants to choose from all installed fonts?
Is there an easy way to see what fonts are used in a X5 file without having to highlight each one? When I open windows > right click > properties > details, it tells me the first couple but I can't see them all.
How to 'install' Type One fonts under Windows, especially when I want to use them with FontNav. Should the pairs be kept together within the same folder? I tend to use multiple sets of folders for other font types to aid me in organizing them within FontNav, and I love FontNav for its ability to make fonts active or inactive.
I am putting together a large project and have to import files made by other designers, particularly pdf files that are being created in AI CS3 and CS4. Without fail if I choose import 'text' the font substitution dialog comes up even though in Adobe Reader it shows the fonts as 'embedded'.
If I choose import as curves the fonts come in changed anyway. What is going on? I keep having to go back to the other designers and ask for tiff files. Guess what they say, "Why are you using CorelDraw?"
I didn't have this much trouble with X3 importing pdf with the fonts converted to curves, is it because Adobe Illustrator has changed something? I have read that compression has something to do with it but I read a post here somewhere that said that X5 dealt with that compression issue. Why isn't mine working or is it the nature of the beast? Is there a work around other than purchasing expensive Adobe software?
Am working as a technical editor for a medical university, I got an earlier job file of their booklet, so I was wondering is there any way to get to know which fonts are used in the whole booklet, as I am assigned to re-arrange the whole booklet but keeping the current fonts & spacings. Finding fonts manually seems impossible as it got more then 160 pages
I use Corel DRAW for writing articles in Telugu ( a South Indian language)I have been using X4 from 2008 on-wards.This is how I do it.
I use Edit PLus Version 2 for data entry...no formatting at this stage. Then , I copy and paste it it in Corel DRAW.Formatting for font, line breaks, paragraph breaks etc. is done in DRAW.Then I ‘Publish to PDF’ and I get very clean PDF file....absolutely no issues. The fonts are developed by local vendor and are Type 1 format. I never print them.
Some of my recipients have printed on laser printers. They too had no problems.I send them as attachments with my emails.
About two months ago, I purchased and started using X6.Here the PDF file appears very faint.
The same thing happened with X5 also.I am not able attach same PDF files as they are around 1 MB ...with the same text and all other parameters.
When I installed X5 on my XP Pro computer, I up graded from Windows SP2 to SP3. Than I installed Corel Draw X5. Ever since I did that I can't see my text on the screen unless I use the pointer. Also, I can't see the fonts in the font list. Add to that, it even made my X4 do the same thing. However, I can use X3 with no problems with the fonts. I have un-installed and re-installed it more then once.
Few days ago I opened a file in corel x6 and bitstream font navigator found missing fonts and installed them. After that I found that a lot of my fonts are partly missing and I mean for example Arial has only Italic and Bold Italic but no Regular or Normal, Bold and Italic... That happens with a lot of my fonts.
I'm with win7 64 bit and cdrX6 + font navigator 64.
I have created a design with two fonts that I used, but when I open that design now is shows that the 2 fonts are now missing and wants to substitute for another font, I designed the logo about 8 months ago, I have looked in my Fonts folder in Control Panel as well as Font Navigator, but they are not there, this happens a lot with other designs as well.
I've noticed that I can download open type fonts on my computer (OS Windows 7) but if I type them out in my Corel X3, nothing shows up. Even files that I open up in Corel that have open type fonts in them, no text shows.
font issues with X6.2, ever since the last update certain fonts basically don't appear on the documents once they are open, even although they are there in the preview. I've reinstalled the fonts in question, but still nothing. They work in other applications.
On the image below you will see the small squares, this is the size f the object, the dots in a line are the. actual words of text. The font(s) in this job is Omnes regular and medium, which are Open Type fonts.
Background: I work IT here at a trophy shop and we do a lot of artwork for plaques and acrylic/glass awards. I am versed in IT but not CorelDraw in-particular.
Problem: Occasionally, we have a problem with the font drop-down menu. The artist will attempt to select a new font for a selected text, and the drop-down menu will flicker as you move the cursor over the fonts, and the preview window to the side trails (where you see the old text preview with the new text preview drawn over it) turning off the font preview fixes the issue, but that preview is essential according to my artists.
In CorelDraw x6 the drop down list of fonts in now out of alphabetical order. The order seems completely random and I can not tell what order it has decided to use. Is there a solution to this error?
I am currently working with gnuplot and some graphical output I want to postprocess in corel. I get a correct .eps file however when I want to import those files I get some font problem. For example: my degree symbol ° gets somewhat confused with another letter é. Same goes for some symbols like the greek theta. In gnuplot I use that /Symbol t for theta and its also correct in the output. However if it goes to corel it gets confused with these symbols and imports the curves wrong.
