I'm using LR 4.1. When in survey mode, if I select an image and hit Z the resulting 1:1 image is not sharp. If I zoom in or out and back to 1:1 it becomes sharp. This is not a problem in Loupe mode. It's not a delay issue - it never becomes sharp unless I change the zoom level. I have 1:1 and standard previews pre-generated.
View 7 RepliesWhen I am in Survey View and hit the Z key, some of the previews are blurry. The same thing happens in Grid View. However, in Loupe View, the images are fine when I the 'Z' key. Using Survey View would make things go faster when making my picks.
I tried rendering 1:1 but the returns a mesage that says renders are up to date and rendering was done.
I just discovered, that when in Library module, and viewing my photos in Fill mode, it is not sharp. It is in fact so blurry, that it is unusable. Not sure I remember it correctly, but it happened also during the tethered shooting and viewing image on secondary monitor.
Interesting thing is, that once in a Develop module, Fill mode preview is sharp. I tried different settings re preview in Catalog Settings and Preferences, but no success.
What are the restrictions on rearraging images in Survey mode? I could not figure out why it would sometines work and sometimes doesn't.
For example, I have a main top directory 2012 and in it a folder for each month. If I am in GRID view at the 2012 level and choose images in Survey mode, I cannot rearrange them. But I am in GRID view in one of the subfolders, then I can.
Is this normal? Am I doing anything wrong?
Why won't survey mode(N) let me pick only one photo? It used to let me but now won't. I have the latest software update on Lightroom 4, working with an iMac(OS X 10.8.2). I hightlight several images to pick from, click on one and press "P" to pick it. It then picks ALL of the photos I have hightlighted instead of only the one I clicked on.
It's not supposed to do that according to the website...yet it's still happening to me. In the Library module, do one of the following:
Select one or more photos in the Grid view, or select a single photo in the Filmstrip in Loupe, Compare, or Survey view. Then, choose Photo > Set Flag and choose the flag you want. If more than one photo is selected in the Filmstrip in Loupe, Compare, or Survey view, the flag is applied only to the active photo.
When I select a number of images to survey and flag one of those images, all images in survey mode are flagged making the culling process extremely difficult. This only started happening since upgrading to LR 4.2 May have to resort to LR 4.1 until fixed

The same result for a small notebook screen or a 42" 1080P display. What is your best way to conduct slideshow of raw files for the right resolution that meeting display size? I have set my standard preview size to 2048pixels and medium quality.

No, these are not modified files. They are fresh imports with 1:1 previews as always.I can get proper 1:1 in the app window. Lucky I know this or I'd have thrown away lots of stuff.
It's the Window>secondarydisplay>show that fails. That display is actually the DVI input.The primary screen app window is the VGA input.

I have been using previous version of LR and never had this problem. Image is not sharp and noise filter doesn't seem to be applied when I do my export. It looks completely different on a Dev Module.

1. Select a photo in Library mode.
2. Click on Develop to go to Develop mode
Screen shows "No photo selected". I cannot edit photos in Develop mode.
I can see and edit photos that are found in smart collections, but not photos that are simply in my collections from 2012, 2011, etc. folders
I copied some Survey Data of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 for Surveyors to my C3D 2013 machine few weeks ago. Now I cannot do the "Import point file" of the Survey2 Data B in Survey Databases, because the Survey2 Data B is locked up - see the attached file that has a red circle with an arrow on. How I can unlocked the locked Survey 2 Data in the Survey Databases.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy exported JPG files look sharp and crystal clear on Flickr. However on Facebook they are blurred and dull. This seems to happen to all my RAW files now. I have not noticed this before and have been using Lightroom since Nov 2012.
How can I fix this since I do share a lot of my work on Facebook as well.
I noticed a "focus" problem using dual screen. When i activate the "Loupe" (1:1 mode) view on the 2nd screen, and i browse my pictures in the developp module (using the film strip and arrows on keyboard for example). The view on the 2nd screen is not displayed as sharp as it should be.
If i touch the detail slider (change the value and make it back to its previous value) the picture is update correctly (sharp) . Do not happen when i use the loupe in "one screen mode".
here's my process:
1- Import the asc file into my drawing.
2- Convert the asc file to a FBK file
3- Import my FBK file. The survey figure linework generated doesn't overlay my previously imported asc file. I checked the FBK file and the coord's match the asc file. I'm confused as to why the survey figures don't overlay the survey points from the asc file, since the coords match in both? The survey figures are all shifted .7' and 54deg. from the points. The elevations are all good on the survey figures, as they match the survey points.
So my quick fix is to explode the survey figures, since I don't really need them for what I'm doing, and then select all the 3d polylines and move them to them to an appropriate survey point. Everything then looks fine and I can get the job done.
However, I would like some insight as to why this might be happening. It's strange that the FBK and asc coordinates match, but the survey figures aren't lying over them.
after updating from LR 4.4 to 5.2 i have a problem with my existing catalogues: All my existing pictures with healing brushes in it now have sharp edges instead of the edges they had in LR 4.4 by default. I used the brush often, so the main part of my work looks deformed now in LR 5.2.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn Loupe view, which shows a large image on the screen, I zoom, yet I don't know what happened.
Did I zoom up 25% or 50%.
Many times my raw images are left with what can only be described as a "haze" over them. It is not a lens deal, it is something I'm not doing in the raw conversion process because .jpegs don't have it albeit .jpegs have their other weaknesses. Sometimes the black slider will remove the haze, but many times I'm left with too many areas that are dark. I think it is a contrast issue, but I really stuggle getting rid of the haze and keep a sharp contrasty image without adding more deep shadows to the image.
View 30 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new Macbook Pro with Retina Display and am running CS6, shooting with a Mark III in full resolution raw format. Focus is on in camera but when I open the images in Photoshop, they do not appear super sharp when zoomed in.
Is this a display issue or a program issue or something else? In the past I can usually get the images so sharp that I can see every pore and hair.
Using 3.2 lightroom, when I zoom in on a tif image it is fuzzy. If I click on the next image over, then click back it reloads and is sharp.Is there a way to force a reload without clicking to another image and then back.When doing same on a raw file (NEF in my case) I do not have this problem.

Now, it's probably something I did, like hitting a shortkey or something... but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to bring back that visual information. After searching online + fiddling around with the settings.
PS. Lightroom 4.3RC (why 4.3 RC, because I'm one of those plagged with a super slow Lightroom in develop mode, especially with my D800 files! I'm crossing my fingers with each RC update that the software will be faster... )
I'm sure this is wrong. In LR5.3 while in Survey or Compare modes when I assign a pick or reject flag to a "more selected" image the rest get tagged as well. I'm certain that is not right, that those modes are different than when multiple images are in the Gallery and limit flags to the most selected image. Given the purpose of Survey/Compare is entirely based on flagging individual images from a group. Just started happening.
Did I accidentally change a configuration option somewhere and, if so, how do I correct? Or is this just a flakey bug?

For some reason images in the library module aren’t as sharp compared to the develop module. If I’m in develop images are nice and sharp but as soon as I select the library you can see the image quality drop and image becomes less blurry!
View 4 Replies View RelatedA couple of questions. I am running the latest version of LR (4.3) in Mac OSX 10.8.2 environment. I notice that, occasionally, the previews in Library mode do not actually represent all the true images. When choosing "Show in Finder" the image is not as seen in the preview. This issue rears it ugly head only occasionally. Also, is the newest version only running in 64 bit mode? When Getting Info, I see no selection box to deselect 32 bit mode.
