Lightroom :: How Control Or Even Know % For Zooming

I'm using LR 4.1. When in survey mode, if I select an image and hit Z the resulting 1:1 image is not sharp. If I zoom in or out and back to 1:1 it becomes sharp. This is not a problem in Loupe mode. It's not a delay issue - it never becomes sharp unless I change the zoom level. I have 1:1 and standard previews pre-generated.
View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing 3.2 lightroom, when I zoom in on a tif image it is fuzzy. If I click on the next image over, then click back it reloads and is sharp. Is there a way to force a reload without clicking to another image and then back. When doing same on a raw file (NEF in my case) I do not have this problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I am in Survey View and hit the Z key, some of the previews are blurry. The same thing happens in Grid View. However, in Loupe View, the images are fine when I the 'Z' key. Using Survey View would make things go faster when making my picks.
I tried rendering 1:1 but the returns a mesage that says renders are up to date and rendering was done.
Using AutoCAD 2013 and TOL command to generate feature control frames. We set our lineweights based on layer assignments.
Problem is that when printing, AutoCAD seems to randomly assign a lineweight to the feature control frames. It can vary from what it's supposed to be (such as lineweight set for the dimension layer) or thicker than even what the object lines are set at. Seems to pick a random linewieght at time of printing for these elements (just the boxes, not the symbols/text itself).
Is there a setting we should be defining somewhere to force it to follow the lineweight of the layer that it has been assigned to? Known bug?
I have Lightroom 4 running on Macbook Pro (mid 2010 with Mountain Lion), and it loses mouse control totally after a while.
Problems started when upgrading from 3.6 to 4.1 and upgrading to 4.2 did not work. Sometimes I might be able to use the software for hours, sometimes problems start just after ten minutes or so. Only restarting the software seems to work.
Lightroom is only program having this kind of problems, and problem stays same, no matter am I using external mouse or trackpad. Keyboard commands are working all the time and Lightroom seems to respond those normally, only mouse control is totally lost or acting randomly. If I use iPad with Air Display as second diplay, mouse seems to work there just fine even when window in MBP's display is having problems (I saw problem before installing Air Display).
Yesterday I have installed the lightroom 5 upgrade, so the view of the surface has been changed.
Is it possible to scale the control-panels like in lightroom 4 ?

How do I turn on and off the Baisc Control Panel ( color Temp, exposure, contrasts, shadow, Higlight, white, blacks, etc)? Somehow I have managed to turn it off, so it is not in the Right hand side panel under the Histogram. Insteasd the first Panel is TONE CURVE
How to turn the Basic Panel back on?
I use large sheets of paper in my printer and typically want to print several photos on one sheet. In order to use the entire 19" length of the paper I select "borderless" printing in the printer options of my Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer. For example, I create a template with five 5x7 photos and two 4x6 photos on one 13x19 sheet of paper. I then want each cell to have a border of 7 pts. I set this in the appropriate print option in Lightroom. I select each photo and drop it onto the appropriate cell. When I print this selection, Lightroom fails to preserve the 7pt borders of the various cells that lie on the outside edges of the paper. It preserves the 7 pt borders everywhere else. This occurs for any possible expansion setting I choose under the 'borderless' selection.
Conversely, if I do not select 'borderless' printing I get double width borders around the outside edges of the paper, single width borders on the interior edges, and therefor I cannot fit the last two 4x6 prints on the paper.
Is this a bug or is there a combination of settings which will give me what I want.
How do i create a slideshow over which I have full manual control? (ie one that does not move on after a set interval)

Increasingly, I've been concerned about the lack of quality control on Blurb books. This is especially problematic with cover printing and less so with book content pages. Two ideas come to mind.
Are there other Printers that can print from the PDF version LR can export? If so, then I can export to pdf and send to other printers or
Can Adobe add other Printers, not just Blurb to the publishing options in LR4?
Just recently I have found that I cannot independently control the Module Picker and Filmstrip panels. They either both show or are both hidden. I have tried shortcuts and rebooting, but nothing works.

So you know what system I have, I use a laptop running Windows 7 64bit, with a dual core processor and 4GB RAM. It's a very capable machine and I don't usually have a problem using LR on it.
After installing LR 3.3 over 3.2 I experienced a problem whereby the PC would not recognise which program to use for opening the lrcat catalog files. Using the Default Programs option in Control Panel didn't work as Windows wouldn't accept Lightroom as the default program and kept suggesting I open the catalog using Adobe Reader instead.
I seem to remember having an issue with the 3.2 update as well but that was simply the icon for file type being missing (showing a default unknown file type icon).
Anyway, resolved the problem but had to resort to downloading a program called Default Programs Editor (http:[url]...... to correct the problem. Am thinking next upgrade, I will uninstall LR completely before installing the update, just to be sure.
where when I try zooming in and out of any document, PS lags for several seconds. When trying to zoom in with a single click, after a second wait the zoom box activates and I have to click again on another spot for it to zoom in. Normally when I click a spot it zooms in immediately. When I try to click and drag a zoom box the box appears, but when I release the mouse button nothing happens and I have to click again for it to zoom. When trying to zoom out I have to click several times and wait several seconds for it to zoom out. There's no spinning beach ball/hourglass, just lag.
This happens on two different Macs running OS X 10.8.5 (an iMac i5 3.2GHz, 32GB ram and MacBookPro i7 2.3GHz 16GB ram). All other commands appear to be working fine. I've deleted all preferences, uninstalled and reinstalled with no improvement.
i'm trying the photoshop cs4 trial. when i zoom the picture using the mouse wheel it's slow. in older versions this was fast. using control-+ to zoom it's fast though.
geforce 9600 178.24 driver
xp 64bit, 6 gigs ram
alt + mousewheel zooms however for some reason in CS4 it only zooms in untill the image covers the whole screen then refuses to work untill i manually zoom out. Alt + scroll at that point simply moved the image up and down. Anyone know how to fix this? ive done several searches as well as went through every preference menu at least 10 times and cant find anything.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi recently picked up a copy of Photoshop CS4 extended from my friend, and im a little new. The reason i got this was for my Intuos4 which will be arriving tomorrow. In the mean time i though i could practice a little. Ive been checking out videos of people drawing and coloring already existing images,
I noticed he was zooming in a lot, and the problem is when i go to zoom in, the lines obviously become distorted and lose a lot of quality.
Now i know its not my pc because im running 1.5 gigs of ram, a xfx geforce 8600gts , and an athlon amd 64. Ive also enabled OPENGL and updated my video drivers to the latest version.
why cant i zoom in and out like the videos and not lose a crap load of quality.
Whenever I open a file, it instantly starts zooming in as if I'm holding download option and turning the mouse wheel. I've change the keyboard and mouse, restarted my mac, reinstalled photoshop, but it's still doing it. This isn't happening in other applications.

Can I zoom more precisely than just by clicking with the zoom tool?
I have photographs of a medical patient. I want to accurately measure certain medical features, to see if they are getting larger or smaller over time. I figure that I can use guide lines to measure - but that would require me to have each photo starting out as the same scale, and that's why I need to be able to accurately zoom.
I suppose I could resize, but that would seem to take a very large amount of trail and error. If I can zoom arbitrarily, I believe I can use layers with top-layer alpha = 50% or so, and match any two photos to each other.
Or is there a better way altogether? It's not feasible for me to have each photo be natively as the same size/distance as every other, so I have to adjust the photos themselves.
Is it possible to zoom in on a group?
In Group Manager I can select my group and then click highlight, but can't see the highlighted entities on screen. If I know where the group is I can zoom in on it and then when I select and highlight the group I can make out the highlighted entities. But its a large drawing (area wise) and I don't know where the groups are.
I've tried various background colors but that didn't work. Quick search and filter didn't bring anything either. Changing the value of the system variable GROUPDISPLAYMODE didn't work.
In AutoCad 2012, when I double click my mouse and zoom extents the UCS changes to about 20 degrees off of the default vert/horz cardinal directions planes. If I change my UCS back to world it is all good again, although when I zoom extents it goes back to the 20 degrees off cardinal planes.
I don't normally use a UCS other than the default, so it is probably a stupid question, although how do I stop it from doing this?
I'm not quite sure how to search for this, so it may be in here, but I'm not finding it........
Windows 7, 64-bit, 12GB of memory, Photoshop CS6, LR4.
In Photoshop, a normal Nikon D300 image, opened from LR4. I have my normal complement of layers for cloning/healing, dodging, burning, curves, hue/sat, etc.
EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE - not consistent, no idea what provokes it - I zoom in while cloning to clean up some small area, and at some point in the zooming, my image disappears and I have the white/gray series of boxes on the entire screen (the thing that shows up when you increase canvas and there's no image on that part)... I can zoom back out, and all of a sudden I have an image again. Zooming in makes it disappear. I have the clone tool set to "Sample All Layers", so it shouldn't be seeing a blank layer, and IT WORKS FINE ALMOST ALL THE TIME.
I've tried closing the image and reopening it, but that made no difference. Did the same thing.
I have to shut down Photoshop and restart it, and then it typically works when zooming in the same way on the same image...
Is this a memory issue (12GB isn't enough for CS6?) or do I have something configured wrong?
Of late whenever I zoom into or out of an image PS CC flattens the image without prompting. would rather it not do this. Is this a bug or have I inadvertently set some preference that is causing this.

I have Video Studio Pro x4
And I am about to start a video for a foster dog I have. Basically, I want to take a whole bunch of pictures (and possibly a short clip or two) and put them into one video and post on Youtube for the rescue to use.
Here is the one I did for the last rescue dog I did when he got adopted and was waiting for his new owners to come and get him. (I know nothing overly fancy, but I am happy with it). [URL] ......
Now, my question is this. Another lady in the rescue did a video seen here: [URL] ........
She zooms in and out of some pictures and I REALLY like that effect. I emailed her and she said she did it on a Mac and it's called the "Ken Burns Effect" Is something like that possible using Video Studio? And if it is, how the heck do I get that to work?
