Just recently I have found that I cannot independently control the Module Picker and Filmstrip panels. They either both show or are both hidden. I have tried shortcuts and rebooting, but nothing works.

i just upgraded the catalog to Lightroom 5 and i have exactly the same problem.
As I review photos clicking on their thumbnails in the book module's film strip on the bottom of the screen I can't seem to find a way to have (1) the name of the photo file displayed and (2) the name of folder where the photo file resides.
In Bridge one has the option to have up to 4 lines of customer-selected information displayed below each thumbnail.
Is there a way do do something similar in Lightroom 4.1 ? How can I view the file name and the name of the folder where it resides as I select the image in the film strip ?
I've been using LR for a while and just in the last week or so I've noticed that in the develope module the badges on the thumbnails in the filmstrip have disappeared. Have I accidentally clicked on something and switched them off? I can hover over a highlighted thumbnail and right click, go to the view options and see that there's a check mark next to the "show badges" option.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using LR4.4 and now upgraded to 5. My only problem has been neither versions display the photos in filmstrip or the Library module after being imported. It displays blank frames and you can click on one in Develop and it will show the photo. But its obviously very hard to identify a specific photo if you can't see it in Library or Filmstrip.
I have read various manuals and don't see the answer as it is assumed LR does this. Nikon View NX2 on the same computer works fine.
I also wonder could there be a conflict between the Nikon View NX2 program and Lightroom.
the filmstrip across bottom of library module is brownish gold in 4.2, is this correct, in 3 it is light grey.

In the develop module, my adjustment panels just stop working. Sometimes in the middle of an adjustment, other times they won't even open. I've tried deleting the prefs. file numerous times. I have them checked for solo mode, but it doesn't make a difference. I'm using 5.3 on Windows 7 and I don't have this problem on my Mac.

My problem is that I lose the mode each time I leave LR and have to reset it each time I enter LR. Normally the panel’s stays in solo mode and in previous versions have. I’ve been using LR since the public beta way back in 12/2006.

Why don't I have complete liquify control panels? How do I get them?
When I go to liquify I get some kind of watered down, simplified version of it. For instance, on the left edge I have 7 icons instead of the 12 shown I've seen on various webpage screenshots of the Liquify Filter screen

I have scoured the internet and am unable to find a calendar control or date picker that will work in 64 bit. I recently upgraded from X5 to X6 and I have several VBA macros that have date pickers. These macros are now useless in x6, which in turn makes x6 usless for me.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason images in the library module aren’t as sharp compared to the develop module. If I’m in develop images are nice and sharp but as soon as I select the library you can see the image quality drop and image becomes less blurry!
View 4 Replies View RelatedSharpening applied in develop module is not shown when switching back to library module. It looks the problem occurs when having size to "FIT". With 1:1 there seams to be no issue. Export also looks fine in 1:1.
I use Mac 10.9.1, LR5.3, Nikon NEF 24Mbit from D600.

I am running LR4 ver4.3. All of a sudden I receied an error message stating cannnot switch to module. I have tried all the usual stuff before going out to the web to look for fixes. On adobe's site they recommended 6 things which I did exactly as instructed and still nothing..I am running iMac mountain lion and everything on my computer is up to date.

View 6 Replies View RelatedDownloaded LR4 this morning, backed up and upgraded the catalog. None of my photos appear in the Develop Module when I switch to that module from the Folders, though they appear when I switch from a Smart Collection, but not a standard Collection. It shows "No Photo Seclected". Regardless of where I switch from, no photos appear in the filmstrip in the Library or Develop module, though the location menu just above the filmstrip shows the correct number of photos in that particular folder. I'm on a late model iMac, OS 10.7.3, with 12 GB RAM.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought Lightroom 4 (student version) and fully registered it. After importing photos to the library, nothing appears in the filmstrip on the bottom of the screen. Do I need to turn something on to make them appear? It is making navigation much more difficult while developing (I can only view one image at a time while developing).
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes the filmstrip will not allow me to click and drag and change the order of pictures in the filmstrip. The pics are locked in place. It allows me to drag an image to a new position in the filmstrip but when I "unclick" the pic just moves back to its original position. Other times a black bar appears between the pics where I want to move the pic and I can rearrange the order of pics. I cant figure out why I can do this sometimes and sometimes the filmstrip wont allow me to change order.
Also, I can move pics in one file while not being able to move them in another. So it not some universal setting but seems to be file (catalog) specific.
When in Library mode I want to move around the filmstrip (at the bottom) when in Loupe View. The same can be said about being in Grid View. I am able to go to the next or previous slides with the arrow keys and by pressing Page-Up and Page-Down it jumps ahead/back 10 or slides. How do you jump to the first or last slide? When I push Home or End nothing happens. I thought it was supposed to jump to the first or last slide.

PS - I have looked at several of the various cheat sheets on shortcuts and cannot find this.
My edit information ( stack counts, ratings picks etc) is showing in grid view but is no longer showin in the filmstrip even though my settings (view options) are set to show details.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been working with a copy of lightroom 3.6 on a windows 7 machine. The problem I'm having is that I have a really hard time telling at a glance which images have the blue color label from the unlabeled grey ones. Is there any way for me to change either the background color of the filmstrip (like you can the background of the main workspace) or else change the hue/tone/saturation/whatever of the blue color label itself?
I know how to change the name of the label, but that doesn't visually differentiate between the two colors. The monitor is color calibrated, and I have the same difficulty on various monitors, so this is a physical limitation of my own, or a limitation of the program.
I'm running LR 4.1 RC and recently all the icons disappeared from the photos in the film strip at the bottom. I can no longer see star ratings, the icon for the quick collection, crop icon, or anything else. I did View Options (Right click) and everything is checked on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the filmstrip set to auto hide/show. As I browse through my library, I'll pick an image to work on in Develop. I may then want to work on an adjacent image. Instead of going back to the library to select it, I want to hover over the film strip and select the image that is 1 or 2 away from the current one.
When I first hover over the filmstrip, it shows my current location but then quickly slides to a different part of the strip. Usually no where near where I'm working. I haven't been able to determine a pattern. Sometimes it will go to the beginning, sometimes the end. Sometimes to an image I was working on the last time I closed Lightroom (if I am still in that folder).
I need the filmstrip to follow me as I move through a set of images.I don't remember having this problem in 3.x
