Photoshop :: Cropping Photos To Include In Slideshow And Onto DVD For Widescreen TV Viewing
May 22, 2012Using Elements 9 when cropping photos to add to a slideshow do I need to crop a "custom" size to enable the slideshow to be later added to a DVD on Windows Movie Maker and played on a wiescreen TV or can I just choose "no restriction" and then specify DVD Aspect ratio of 16.9 when creating the DVD?

Feb 23, 2014I have an folder with approx 500 photos that have been optimised in the Develop module (aspect ratio set at AS SHOT) and exported to photo lab for 2 x 3 prints. Now I need to use these same images for a slideshow and set an aspect ratio of 16 x 9 1920 x 1080 for viewing on HD Television. I do not want to change the AS SHOT aspect ratio of these images in the current folder. so first, this means I need to make a copy of this folder within Lightroom and second, change the aspect ratio to 16 x 9 for all images at the Quick develop module and complete in the slideshow module. The second part is no problem but how do you "copy" a folder of images in Lightroom OR alternatively can you make a virtual copy of a folder?

When I try to export them to a lightroom folder I have created on the HD, the process exports the photos, but when I go to the folder, it does not show the photos. Jun 3, 2013After importing pictures from my digital camera in RAW format using Lightroom 4 it places them in my Pictures file on tghe hard drive. When I go to my Pictures file and try to open the photos i get the message: Photo Gallery Can't Open The Images Or Video Because The Format Isn't Supported Or You Don't Have The Latest Upgrade To Photo Gallery. Pictures from a small point & shoot work fine. I get the same results when importing using the camera Mfg's software.

Sep 10, 2013In the Adobe Classroom in a Book LR5 pg 28 there is a method shown to start the slideshow - Window > Impromptu Slideshow. It states that while you are running the slide show you can use the keys 1 - 5 to rate the photos and the left and right arrows top scroll through the photos.
the numbers indicate the rating but it does not apply the rating to the photo - when you get out of the slideshow the rating is the same as before I started the slideshow. Additionally the left and right arrows dont appear to work.

Feb 10, 2013In Lightroom 3 slideshow module, I can set the length / duration / time for each photo to appear on the screen, using the slider bar. I can set the transition length.
What I haven't been able to figure out: how to select certain images and transitions that will be onscreen for a different amount of time. For example, say I have 50 photos that are set to appear in the slideshow for 3 seconds each. Great. Now I want to choose 10 photos in the middle of the slideshow, and have those ones linger, 10 seconds each. How can I select those and give them a different screen time?
Lightroom :: Slideshow Doesn't Update With New Photos Taken By Tethered Camera
Jul 26, 2013I'm just trying out LR5. I've watched vidoes where in LR4 you can setup a slideshow to play from a folder, and while the slideshow is playing you can take new photos from a tethered camera and it will automatically add it to the slideshow.
In LR5, on my computer (Mac), the incoming photo seems to get stuck and does not make it into the slideshow. I have to stop the slideshow, and restart it to see the new incoming photo taken by tethered camera. I need this function for an event, so I'm just wondering whether I'm doing something wrong, or whether it is a bug in LR5?
I've selected the mode "Use: All Filmstrip Photos". What I've observed is that while playing the slideshow without going fuill screen, a newly taken photo from the tethered camera appears as a white tile, but then the thumbnail contents do not change. When I stop the slideshow, the photo then gets "Developed" and then it will be in the slideshow the next time I play it.
Lightroom :: How To Create Slideshow Full Of Photos With Native Aspect Ratio Of 3:2
Dec 2, 2013I'm using Lightroom 5.2 on a 27-inch iMac running Mavericks. I want to create a slide show full of photos with a native aspect ratio of 3:2 (from a Nikon D4 and a Nikon D800). I do NOT want the photos to be trimmed along the top and bottom, which is what happens when I choose "Zoom to fill frame" in the Slide Show module. I do NOT want letterboxing along the right and left edges of the photo, which is what I get if I don't choose "Zoom to fill frame" and just export the slide show using the "Export Video" button in the lower left of the Slide Show module. ("Export Video" gives me four choices for "Video Preset," but none of the four is a 3:2 aspect ratio.) I just want a slide show of uncropped 3:2 aspect ratio photos with no border around them whatsoever. Considering how many of the photos taken every day on this planet are still in the 3:2 aspect ratio, I find it hard to believe there isn't a way to do this.
If for some reason there is no way to create such a slide show in Lightroom, I have Creative Suite 5, iPhoto, and iMovie, but I don't want to buy any new software just for this.

Oct 4, 2011importing photos into Xara 7 - the photos have a "green" sheen to them - I've only noticed as I've been using xara to print out some photos for a friend who's printer died. he uses powerpoint to print his and the difference between the two is really marked! i'm assuming it's due to CMYK/RGB differences (ppt is RGB) but I can't for the life me see where I can alter the Xara settings so the photos come in as per ppt.

Apr 6, 2012I'm getting a little frustrated that elements that i copy and paste (or open) in photoshop from Illustrator do not look the same, very muted, additionally when i come to save for web they look even worse. So i can never get the colours looking like the original unless (which isn't a solution) i change them manually by increasing the contrast ect.
All my colour settings/profiles are synced, the documents are both RGB. I just can't work it out

Imagine I have 30 blue boxes that I want to change to red boxes but they dont start changing and finish at the same time. How do I do this?
One method is to have 30 materials that I keyframe to change from red to blue at certain times.
Another method is to have two coincident boxes and fade the red box out to leave the blue box. This way, I can make the fading start and finish at different times.

Nov 30, 2013I am using VS x6 to provide a way to present family photos via slide shows. So far I have had success in doing so through Corel Discovery videos and YouTube tutorials.
My problem is that the photos do not "fill the screen:" which I am sure is due to the photos being different sizes to start with. I edit the photos with Corel PSP.
Is there a way to establish the optimum size in the VS project and then resize the photos in PSP for a consistent look in the slide show?

I have now created a layer called building. I have selected everything and and placed it on this layer. The layer colour is colour 8.
I now want everything to be by layer so that it is all colour 8. However when I select all (151038 items) and change it all to by layer nothing changes. All colours stay as they are.
But if I was to go and select a small area at a time it allows me to change them to by layer and the colours change to colour 8 as desired.
How to select all and select by layer and have all the colours change in one go rather than me going around the drawing selected sections at a time to make the colours change.

Do I need to change a setting for that imported logo to make it compatible to print? Without that particular logo, the document prints fine.
