I recently started having problems with jpeg photos edited on either Elements 10 or 11. I save to a USB port and then insert into frame for viewing but i get a ? error. However, when i open the photos on the USB i can see them fine.
View 2 RepliesIve right clicked on the said pics and normally with elements9 it would give me a number of places to which i could sent the chosen frame. But after purchasing elements 11 I am not getting the option to send them anywhere.

I finally managed to watermark my files they have been saved but when I want to view them on my laptop in the normal windows view the thumbnail just shows the photo shop elements logo and I have to double click each file separately and they open in the edit programme. I want to open them and flick through my edited pictures without having to enter adobe photo shop elements and without having to open each one individually.
When opening my jpeg photos in Photoshop elements 9, once saved elements seems put the image in a format that my Apple Mac isn't compatible with. So when I then try and upload the images to Facebook or other software in a bulk upload the images are highlighted and I therefore can't select them and upload.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm still having a difficult time understanding how to use layers to edit digitial photos in photoshop. Based on every tutorial I've tried, I have found a common theme: the best way to edit photos is by creating copies of the original image and making different types of edits to each copy and then merging these edited copies into one final image that reflects all the edits combined. I have been lead to believe that the reason for making copies of the original image is so that edits can be made to each individual "layer" and not to the original photo. This way the edited layers can be compared to the untouched original to make sure everything looks the way its supposed to. Here is what is frustrating me to death. No matter how many "layers" I create of my original image, every edit I make shows up in every other layer I create along with the original. I thought that any edits I make to the active layer are only supposed to show up on that layer and no where else. Is this true? If so, how do I set up my editor so that the edits I make only show up in the layer I am actually working on? It seems to me if the edits I make are going to always show up in every layer I have created, and in the orignal image, then there is no point in using layers at all when I edit my photos.

I have tried using the smart proxy without success. I am trying to edit HD files *.mov. The files are only a couple of minutes so that should not be an issue. I also tried closing all other programs. When I try and playback I can only see a couple of seconds before it crashes. I am wondering if my computer does not have the resources to edit HD. I have 1024 MB of Ram.

Is there any easy technique in Photoshop to crop images to this size (or close), without manually drawing a rectangular marquee and trying to guess at it's size? I'm trying to create a batch of photos that will display properly on a digital picture frame. Unfortunately, the digital picture frame will stretch or compress the image in seemingly unpredictiable ways. It destroys the proper aspect ration of the images.
I'd like to create a preset for exporting these images that would create an image of a defined size (and aspect) with the photo. If the photo doesn't match the sizes defined the preset should create the best fit then letterbox the photo so the image always matches the size of the photo frame but the aspect of the photo is preserved.
Essentially, it should create a background of a certain size then overlay the photo to best fit the dimensions while preserving the aspect ration. This would provide an image file that would always be the defined size of the picture frame thus preventing the frame from distorting the aspect ration of the image.I don't see a way to create an export preset to accomplish this.
How do I make a digital photo, look like it was drawn? I don't want it to look like it's a wooden stamp, how to make images look penciled or hand drawn?
