I downloaded photos from my camera into lightroom. When I try to export them to a lightroom folder I have created on the HD, the process exports the photos, but when I go to the folder, it does not show the photos. When I repeat the process, it states that the photos are there (but I can not see the recent ones I just added)
After importing pictures from my digital camera in RAW format using Lightroom 4 it places them in my Pictures file on tghe hard drive. When I go to my Pictures file and try to open the photos i get the message: Photo Gallery Can't Open The Images Or Video Because The Format Isn't Supported Or You Don't Have The Latest Upgrade To Photo Gallery. Pictures from a small point & shoot work fine. I get the same results when importing using the camera Mfg's software.
My photos are stored on an external HDD and have the usual size (like 5 MB/JPEG) on that harddisc.
When i develop and export a photo in LR (Settings in Export-Window: 100%/JPEG) i do get files of very small sizes (like 100kb) and low quality in my export-folder, but i'd like to export them in higher quality.
What can be done or what am i doing wrong? I thought LR would use the full-size photos and apply the development changes to them but i got the feeling it uses my "minimal previews" somehow.
Take a picture with my Canon EOS 1000D (RAW)Import to LR5 as DNGAdjust the settings just the way I like itExport to a folder on my Windows 7 PCFile format: JPEGColor space: sRGBSync that folder to my iPad using iTunesView the image on my iPad and the colors are all wrong:It looks like my white balance was set too cold. I used to use Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) and never had these issues. I spend this whole evening trying to find a solution to my problem but for nothing. What can I do? Did I waste 80 € on a software that is useless to me!?
I've cropped photos in lightroom5, but suddenly the crops are not being applied when I export them. As in the past, if I've made changes in develop mode, I would like those changes to be applied when exporting them from lightroom.
Using Elements 9 when cropping photos to add to a slideshow do I need to crop a "custom" size to enable the slideshow to be later added to a DVD on Windows Movie Maker and played on a wiescreen TV or can I just choose "no restriction" and then specify DVD Aspect ratio of 16.9 when creating the DVD?
I recently started having problems with jpeg photos edited on either Elements 10 or 11. I save to a USB port and then insert into frame for viewing but i get a ? error. However, when i open the photos on the USB i can see them fine.
I would like to view two images at once in Lightroom. The help says I should go to Window > Arrange. 'Arrange' does not appear as an item under the 'Window' menu.
My department is making an overhaul on our keyword usage and we want to figure out which keyword tags have been used the most and which ones are rare and uncommon. Is there a way to export a spreadsheet and/or view the keyword statistics?
I have many PDF slideshows and PDF images. It seems that Lightroom will not read PDF files though... I recall that Bridge can read PDF files. I believe it would be a useful addition to LR to enable the viewing and cataloguing of PDF files.
I have been using LR since version 2 and since upgrading to LR5 I can't find a way to view the jpeg files next to the raw file. in grid view it just shows RAW + JPEG on a single photo but I want to split them so I can see the jpeg type. I changed my preferences to 'treat jpegs as separate files' but what do I do with all the files I already imported and corrected?
Using LR 4.3, I'm exporting a slideshow to PDF. Even though I turned off transitions in LR, the transitions automatically start in Acrobat X in full screen mode. My goal is to present ths slide show with a mouse click, or arrow key, to move to the next slide in full screen mode.
In Library mode, when I'm switching between all my photos, there is a fade in fade out transition as it switches to the next photo. Can I get rid of this transition? I would like to just switch to the next photo without any fancy transition.
I have an folder with approx 500 photos that have been optimised in the Develop module (aspect ratio set at AS SHOT) and exported to photo lab for 2 x 3 prints. Now I need to use these same images for a slideshow and set an aspect ratio of 16 x 9 1920 x 1080 for viewing on HD Television. I do not want to change the AS SHOT aspect ratio of these images in the current folder. so first, this means I need to make a copy of this folder within Lightroom and second, change the aspect ratio to 16 x 9 for all images at the Quick develop module and complete in the slideshow module. The second part is no problem but how do you "copy" a folder of images in Lightroom OR alternatively can you make a virtual copy of a folder?
After reading many webpages and watching many tutorial videos about which color space to use, I get odd results. I understand that sRGB is more for web applications, and that Adobe RGB 1998 has a wider gamut, and that ProPhoto has the widest gamut of colors, particularly useful with printing.
However, in LR 4, when I export to jpeg as sRGB, Adobe RGB, and ProPhoto, the differences are very noticeable. sRGB looks the most vibrant, Adobe RGB looks flat, and ProPhoto looks dark with a greenish cast. I expected ProPhoto to look best, or is that only for printing, and I have to process differently?
Sometimes I take a screenshot from within L/R 3.6 and send it by email. Problem is the image name/date/size info. overlay spoils the image. I've looked all over L/R prefs etc but I can't see how to turn the info. off, assuming it's possible to do so?
I used to be able to import pics from my camera into a specific folder on my hard drive. That was until 2 weeks ago. Now my only choice is to import into the folders below. C. drive - where all my digi camera pics are - is no longer there. How do I get L/R import to recognize my hard drive again.
After uploading images from a card reader to LR 4.1 and 4.2, the option to review large images is present for the first 10-20 photo, then LR preview will only display a small image (the size of a thumbnail.). I can uplaod all the images from preview to the LR catalog. But then I have to go into the catalog and delete unwanted images.
Ever since I upgraded to lightroom 4 I can't view my files larger before import. Once I import and they are in lightroom I can but I want to be able to edit them larger to make sure I want to import. Some just come up the same size as thumbnails while other files will say "could not read preview.
I recently had my hard drive replaced by Apple and did a clean install of my programs, no Time Machine.
I have LR 4.3 and CS5. I have always chosen the Edit in PS CS5 option from LR for editing individual RAW files. When I save my photo in PS, I save it as a jpg. Once back in LR, I would have to synchronize the folder in order to import that new jpg and it would show up alongside the original RAW file. Well now, after upgrading to 4.3, synching won't see that new photo that was created. It IS in Finder, but LR doesn't see it.
I have expanded stacks and no filters. Is there anything else I have to do?
If I use Filters/Metadata/File Type, no jpg's appear.
The only way I can see the photo is if I use the Text filter and write .jpg.
How can I get the jpg to show alongside the original RAW file again??
I'm also getting the "File must be saved as a copy"in the PS dialogue, when I save as jpg. Before, it would just save it as the file type is different.
I just purchased LR5 as an upgrade from 4. I was noticing my images were quite smooth when exporting to Jpeg with LR4. It seems now there is alot more graininess that wasn't the issue before.
when i export the pictures alone, they are fine, but when exported in a slideshow they look dull and faded. The black appears about 70% gray (just guessing) and the colors lack any vibrance. Repeat: i have no trouble with the pictures when i export them individually. The preview looks beautiful: black black and snappy colors.
i am not seeing any options on export except as pdf or video, and i've tried changing the resolution to the highest to no avail.
it's embarrassing, because i gave them as gifts to my neighbor's family. They were shots of their mother's beautiful flower-garden on the day she passed.
I'm using Windows 8 and LR 4.3. My watermark does not appear on exported images eventhough the box is checked in the export presets. Also many typefaces available in MAC are not in Windows. Where I might find the same typeface I use on my Macbook and add to Windows?
i just noticed that changing the PPI from 240 (taken with my Canon) to 100 and exporting the photos to JPEG sized as 2MP have no change at all in size. Shouldn't 100PPI be smaller in size?
