I am working with LR4. How can I rotate a verticallt placed photo image to a horizontally place image within a cell? I know how to "rotate" a cell and I don't want to just "flip" the image.

Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? I'm trying to learn how to rotate a .jpeg photo without it losing proportion. I have a photo of a Santa that I carved and took the photo with the camera turned 90°. I'd like to rotate the photo so I can use it as an Avatar on a forum I'm in. However, when I rotate the photo 90° the image becomes narrower and longer. I'd like to retain the original proportion but don't know how to do this.

However if I rotate it with the handles or rotate 90 degrees or whatever it changes the image and I'd like it to return in normal position after I'm finished drawing. - Open a new image.
- Draw / manipulate / play with your image.
- Add layers, colors and images included.
Now, let's say you want to trace an image that's at the bottom of your layer stack. But that image is the wrong size, so you select the area you want to trace, drop its transparency down to 10%, and attempt to scale it to the size you've been sketching on the layer above it. The moment you attempt to scale / rotate it, it shoots back to 100% transparency, which is unintuitive because you can no longer see what's beneath the layer. In Photoshop, an area that is being scaled / rotated stays at the transparency you gave it.
Is there a way to make this NOT happen?
Presently, all of my images are stored on windows photo gallery. I have them organized into folders& subfolders. would the same folders and sub folders be exported into lrm as labeled. I know you do this under import mode and add from others. Would it behove me to make sure all of my gallery folders are properly labeled tagged etc. before i do this transfer.When i do the transfer can i rename the folders,re-tag them etc.Â

My Web Photo Gallery feature in Photoshop CS has all of a sudden started to rotate vertical photos to the horizontal position. In the finished gallery the thumbnails and large photos are rotated. When I open the images in Photoshop they are correct and in the vertical position. Any advice on reverting it back to the way it is supposed to be? I've looked through all the tabs and can't find where I might have accidently changed something to have caused this.
I did notice that when I just try to make a web gallery of only a few images they appear correct.
Just got a Epson 3880 printer and learning to use Lightroom 3 with it. I am trying to print a 8x10 image on 8.5x11 paper. I set the cell size to 8x10. While the print looks great it is not 8x10 (larger). Is there some interaction between the margin settings and the cell size that I need to understand?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust as a pre-amble, I love LR and perform 90% of image processing with it (rest in PS). I use a Canon EOS 5D MKIII shooting in RAW, running LR5 on Win7. My monitor is properly calibrated.

Every so often I view a RAW image with Canon DPP mostly to display the AF point. What I am noticing is that the DPP SW renders the image very different from LR and I tried every LR Profile. In my opinion the DPP rendering is sharper, with less noise and a more natural look. My latest example of the difference in image rendering is from images taken with the Canon 200-400 1.4 zoom lens. This difference in image rendering is after RAW import with no images editing on either application. I just wish there would be a LR profile that yields a similar quality image.
Sometimes I take a screenshot from within L/R 3.6 and send it by email. Problem is the image name/date/size info. overlay spoils the image. I've looked all over L/R prefs etc but I can't see how to turn the info. off, assuming it's possible to do so?Â

I used to be able to import pics from my camera into a specific folder on my hard drive. That was until 2 weeks ago. Now my only choice is to import into the folders below. C. drive - where all my digi camera pics are - is no longer there. How do I get L/R import to recognize my hard drive again.
I'm trying to rotate a small object in Paint. When I use the rotate toolbar to enter the angle I need, the object rotates just like I want. Then I hit the apply button and some pretty heavy handed anti-aliasing is applied and the object is essentially destroyed. I've been using Paint for quite a long time so I figured there must be an option to turn this off. I can't find one. I even added the anti-aliasing button to the rotate toolbar and turned it off but that doesn't make any difference.
Essentially, what I want when I rotate an object is the chunky, pixelated preview, not the final anti-aliased so much you can't tell what it even is anymore final product.
At this point, I'm going to have to resort to rotating the object and taking a screenshot of the preview and using that instead of the mess that the final result is.
How to make a rotating gif, sliding through multiple images but couldn't seem to find anything. I know that this is a pretty simple task and used to be able to do it but have forgot in the long while I haven't got to use Paint.Net.

When i print the photo, it prints to the size 4.31 x 3.12 on the 5x7 paper.
After editing in perfect photo I cannot unstack the edited photo in LR4. The thumbnail shows the number of photos in the stack, but right click/expand stack has no effect. The edited photo is not showing.

There is a general folder named "Photos" and within are the sub folders for the photos. I did a simple drag and drop from my computer to the hard drive and expected Lightroom to simple show the new directory in the folder panel.

What would be the simplest way to re-access the files since moving them to the new hard drive?
I've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.
