I am missing a feature to sort pictures randomly in Lightroom. Often, when I compile photos from different times/locations etc I would like to show them in a slideshow randomly. Today I don't find this sorting option in LR.
View 2 RepliesI'm in search of an answer for a MAJOR problem I am having! When I capture pics to a file for a project, they are renamed to a time and do not stay named as my original file. It is absolutely necessary for the pics to be in numerical order for the projects I do. I see an option to sort, but it sorts by new name (time) instead of the original file name. I've not been able to find an answer and I have a HUGE project that must be completed tomorrow evening.

View 4 Replies View RelatedScanning old photographs, with multiple photos in each scanned image. I've created a virtual copy for each individual photograph and then crop appropriately. However, photographs have different dates and I want to be able to sort them chronolgically. Ideally I'd set the Capture Time on each virtual copy and use that as the Sort order, but LR doesn't separate images co-joined in a Virtual set, so to speak. It seems like it looks at the Capture Time of the Master copy of a virtual set.
The only way I can see how to do this is to export, re-import into a different catalogue, and then apply Capture Time metadata. This is quite a cumbersome workaround. I'd like to do this all in the same catalogue...also exporting / importing re-compresses the image and would like to avoid that.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSometimes the filmstrip will not allow me to click and drag and change the order of pictures in the filmstrip. The pics are locked in place. It allows me to drag an image to a new position in the filmstrip but when I "unclick" the pic just moves back to its original position. Other times a black bar appears between the pics where I want to move the pic and I can rearrange the order of pics. I cant figure out why I can do this sometimes and sometimes the filmstrip wont allow me to change order.
Also, I can move pics in one file while not being able to move them in another. So it not some universal setting but seems to be file (catalog) specific.
I want to sort paragraphs in alphabetically order for a glossary. If this is possible I will glad to know. If that can't be undone in coreldraw, how to export text for ms word. When i copy and paste in word 2013 it loose all formatting. I try paste special but there is no option for keep formatting. My all glossary text is type in paragraph frame.

The default sort for the Photo Downloader seems be by date and time. I recently purchased a camera the does up to 10 fps and the Downloader does not seems to have resolution to sort the micro-second or even second. I batch download the images and also do a rename of the files in this format yyyymmdd-###. I am finding my action sequences are all out of order. What I really just need the Downloader to do is sort by sequential camera number just like it comes out of the camera. Then all the images would be renamed in the right order. I tried modifying the XML settings file but that was no success.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I import images as a sequence in AE CC (v.12.2.1.5), I select an image, then check the 'JPEG Sequence'. Sometimes I have folders that contain missing files, in that I case I also check 'Force Alphabetical Order'.
However, it seems that this is not working correctly now. Some part of the sequence is correct, but there are also some images that appear at random places in the sequence. Is this a bug? What should I do to avoid this?

Is there a way to set the sort order in Sheet Set Manager for the Model Views tab? Seems like a few releases ago it was alphabetical - now its random and almost impossible to locate a specific drawing in a large project.
Tried changing MAXSORT and it did not have an effect.
I am using CS 2 on a Mac. I've created about 40 custom paper sizes. They display in random order in the drop down menu. Is this normal and is there any way to organize them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust recently, my pictures located in folders have been coming up in random (not numerical) order when I try to open a file in Photoshop. Instead of bring listed in alpha/numeric order, the files are all mixed up.
If I click on the View Menu box that appears when I open a folder, and go to Details, I can get the images back in correct numerical sequence by clicking on the bar above the file name. However, when I try to open the next file, it has reverted back to a random sequence.
Custom Hatch list in ACA 2013 (64 bit win 7) shows the list of hatches in a completely random order..ie. not alphabetical.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using a trial version of Paint Shop Photo 2010, trying to make a simple slide show with music. I downloaded into my laptop from my desktop, 137 pictures already organized and sorted by me and numbered sequentially (using my old faithful, but antiquated PAINT SHOP PHOTO ALBUM ). However!! When I bring this into PSP2010, all the nicely numbered pictures are scrambled! And I can find no way to do a simple file sort by "Name" (i.e. number). I can sort my File Folders by name!! But that does me no good. PSP2010 leaves me with no choice but to hunt each photo from memory (no file nos. are showing now) and drag it into the tray.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I am editing a lot of pictures, after saving the edited picture and when I go to open the next picture, the folder always goes back to the beginning. This then requires to scroll down to the nest picture to be edited which takes a LOT of time, especially if there are 200-300 pictures ihn the folder. In the "old" elements this was not a problem. Is there a setting someplace. I am using Elements 10.

I just changed the dates on 2 of my photos and noticed that the 2 pictures do not re-order themselves in the correct date sequence.
The 2 photos are dated Oct 14, 1983. However they appear between my Oct 16 and Oct 15 photos. I have other photos dated Oct 14 that do correctly appear before the Oct 15 photos.
Why would these 2 photos be separated from the other Oct 14 photos?
