I save a photo that I've edited in photoshop cs5, either jpeg or tiff, and when I go to Lightroom 3.6 I can not locate the file. It shows up in bridge under the right location. I reinstalled both Lightroom and photoshop and no change.
View 3 RepliesIs it possible to either print or save an image that shows the crop lines from Lightroom (i.e. shows what is both in AND out of the image as it is cropped). I'm working off a scanned negative and I want to show my printer just how to crop the image. She was hoping to see both what's inside and outside the crop? Possible to get that to her either by printing that from my computer or emailing it to her?

In a 2014 folder there are 25 files. Lightroom's Folders panel shows the number as 15. If I try Import it shows all 25 files but the missing 10 are greyed out and thus not available for import.
If I Syncrhonize the folder, the little dialog says there are 10 files to be imported, but when I click Synchronize another dialog comes up saying there are no files to import.
LR5 stopped listing my previously imported folders/files from my external drive.They show up in the Import dialogue but as the images were previously imported, they are "grayed out" and cannot be reimported. How do I get LR to list them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.

On importing the files to LR 4.3, the GPS and Altitude sections of EXIF remain blank. On the import preset I use, the Camera Info section is all unticked.

If I go to the folder where I store my image files (the folder which LR catalogues) after the import and drop the file on to Exiftool, all the GPS information is listed there. That is, the LR import RW2->DNG has retained the information. It is there but not displayed.
I have just noticed that new PSD files (with transparent backgrounds) are displaying in Lightroom with a gray background where the transparent areas are in the image.

Has this change happened in the 4.4 update on the Mac? I can see previously imported files show a white background but when I click on it to view in Develop mode it the tranparent area of the picture changes to gray.

I would prefer this to be white (as it was), is there a way to change this in LR as I really don't want to have to open each image in PS and drop in a white layer behind it.

This was working fine before but has now changed, I hope I haven't altered something in the preferences as I can't see a way to change it. I'm not referring to the Background colour in LR prefs as that just changes the area surrounding the image, I am referring to the transparent area of my pictures.
But changes are visible in drawing preview/thumbnail. Â Also, random changes are saved. Â For instance some changes I made yesterday and saved are not showing up while changes I made today are. Â Essentially I am missing most of my work from today. Â I did save the drawing as 3 different drawings prior to closing and each drawing now shows something different. Â Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have LR4, and once I make some develop changes I've been exporting the files I want to use as DNG. I then open them in PSE10 to make final edits. It's been working fine, actually I had an older version of Adobe Raw in my PSE on my other computer. So when I opened in PSE it would ask if I wanted to conver to compatible version to edit in camera raw. I always said no b/c I didn't need to do anymore raw edits. Now that I have installed PSE on my new computer, it has the new ACR version I guess. When I open the DNGs to edit now I no longer get this error message, but it's showing my contrast, etc. as a standard raw setting instead of the changes I made in LR. Some are showing....like vibrance, but "recovery" which I know is "highlights" in LR, and other things are not showing correctly. I know that the options are different, but I don't want to use the ACR settings that it's using when I open the file, or have to go through them again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a transparent image. So, I have an image of someone & I want to paste an image of a transparent heart around their face, which I also have. I open the heart in Paint.net & notice the checkerboard background, which means that the background is transparent. I then copy & paste it onto the image of the person but the heart still has the checkerboard background instead of being transparent & it is covering the face. Also, when I saved the heart image on my Mac desktop, the thumbnail had a white background but when I opened it in Preview & iPhoto, it was transparent.
PS: I have Parallels Desktop so I'm running Mac & Windows side-by-side.
When saving images in CS6 I can see them as preview icons of the image in finder by itself, but if I open a file in photoshop to find an image, i only have titles and not the images. ALSO when I go to upload an image to blog or facebook, again I have no image icon of what is there, only a blank space and a file name. I HATE THIS as it makes it takes too much time to figure out where the picture is. I am a graphic artist and a painter and I cannot work like this. Does not matter what type of file.. tiff, png, jpg etc... there is no image to see when opening through photoshop or any upload situation. I am able to see the images from FINDER by itself or if I am placing them into MUSE or INDESIGN.Â

I created a Web Gallery and forgot to update the folder name for the FTP server.
How can I update the saved gallery? If you change module and double click again on the saved gallery icon, the changes are lost.

I've attached a screen shot of icons that appear to show what seems to remain of one of the files. You will see it has 3 different icons that correspond to it. I recently upgraded Photoshop from CS2 to CS4 (11.0.1). If I use CS4 to save a large multi-layered Photoshop .psd file as .tif (Layer/Flatten image/Discard hidden layers), (File/Save as .tif, LZW, Interleaved, IBM PC) the resultant .tif file cannot be read by many other programs. File viewers (Faststone, MS Paint, QT Picture Viewer, Windows Photo Gallery) either fail to display the images, display the images incorrectly, or display a black screen. Neat Image fails to open the files due to incorrect bit depth.  (Faststone shows the bit depth as 40 bits). PTLens fails to open the files with the dialog "Only RBG images are supported". This has become a significant problem, since I routinely distribute images to others as .tif files. Similar Photoshop CS2 saved .tif files open with all the above viewers/programs with no problems. (no longer have CS2 installed)
View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't seem to be pluggin in the correct set of keywrds to bring it up in the search if it has. Here's my dilemma. I just bought a new computer which came preloaded with Vista, and uploaded my old copy of CS3 onto it. The program seems to be working fine, except that when I open a file in Photoshop and edit it, then save it in a new file (as I do for most of my photoshoots, etc), or even when I save it in the orignial folder, the new "saved" file will not show up in the Vista folder. If I go back to Photoshop and open the folder via File>Open, I can access all of my pictures, but to I cannot access them to upload to the internet, email, use in other programs, etc. If I go into "Recently Changed Documents" I can find them, but they seem to be in a temp folder in the Adobe folders. But again, if I go back to Adobe, it says they are in the folder I put them in.

Did i just lost my whole work because automatic backup system is not activated on new files that are not saved yet?
I have been working on a project all week, including today. I saved my project again today at 5:00 p.m. closed Illustrator and went to dinner. Came back home, logged into Illustrator at 6:30 p.m. and my project is not there. When I go into "open recent files" the only files that come up are dated last week.
