View 1 RepliesI retouch all my images in photoshop from lightroom so they appear next to the raw file in lightroom when I come back. Depending on where the images will be printed they can have a different embedded profiles. without having to include the profile used in the naming of the file my question is:
Is there a way of viewing the file's embedded profile from within lightroom without having to re-open in photoshop to see?
The color workspace of Lr is linear ProPhoto. If we have a TIFF file with the embedded color profile, like ProPhoto 1.8, does Lr use embedded color space (Prophoto 1.8 in this case) as workspace instead of its standard workspace?

We've discovered that the JPG image does not display in Inventor View (which our co-workers use to view/print drawings).
how I can see if some .ico files are embedded with multiple sizes? I used the .ico plug-in and selected to embed all sizes, but I am not sure if this works. I'd like to be able to confirm it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know there is the option to "treat jpg as seperate files" in the library, but i feel it clutters up the library so i tend to avoid this. However, if i treat them as the same, the JPG does get saved into the hard-drives directories, but it isn't visible at all in LR. I understand that this is by design, but what is the point of it then, if there is no way for me to look at the jpg (e.g. for comparison).
so my question: is there a way to see the jpg file, unless i treat it as a seperate file (and hence de facto duplicate the number of images in my library)? what i am looking for, is occasionally being able to view that jpg that has been saved to the directory.
opening CS files with embedded subfolders, as you know the Photoshop CS version allows you to have multiple subfolders within folders. But the problem is the shop I work at requires us to work in Photoshop 7 for backward compatibility issues. What happens is when I open the CS files that have embedded subfolders will get lost or combined.
Question: Is there another way to rectify the problem with out opening the file in CS and manually move any embedded subfolders out to the outer hierarchy ? So when I open the CS file all of the layers will show up properly?
I have tried the Links dropdown and the Document info dropdown but no files appear at all.
I have three linked/embedded files.
Need to finding out the names of the files..
My question is, isn’t Illustrator supposed to use and save just one instance of an embedded image regardless of how many times it i used in an document?
A senario: If I import and embed an image and I save the document I get a pretty small files size. But when I copy this image internally in the document, say that I copy the image 10 times, I get ten times the file size. Is it supposed to do that? Why doesn't it just save the image one time?
I have lightroom 3.6. I just purchaesed a SDony alpha A99 camera and I am unable to view raw files in lightroom. What can be done
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just imported all my photo's into LR5 in order to categorise and delete where appropriate (In Library mode). Although JPG files are displayed where no RAW files exist, JPEG files are not displayed where corresponding RAW (CR2) files exist. I have checked the box in Preferences to treat JPEG files next to RAW files as seperate photos, but this seems to have no effect.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to view files in LR with different profiles? I looking to perform the same function I can in PS (view>proof set up>custom>picking my stored profiles to use for viewing). I primarily use LR and prefer not to keep switching back and forth. I have LR 3.6.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI create vector drawings in Microsoft Office Visio and I need to be able to convert raster images from PDFs into vector images compatible with Visio. I've tried tracing the bitmap with various options but the line quality produced when saved to a .svg file is not adequate for our needs. Images from a PDF that are not embedded work perfectly by saving to a .svg file, but the bitmap comes in as one unusable entity. Simply put, can X6 convert embedded bitmaps from within PDFs into vector files?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue, when I re-import Photoshopped files back into LR3, they fail to appear in Grid View. But they DO APPEAR in the 'Import' screen, grayed out, as normal. So why is LR suddenly not showing them in Grid View. Here's a screenshot of the import window that clearly shows the image that does NOT appear in Grid View. Notice that image# 2012_3_4-Edit.tif resides immediately next to it's original 2012_3_4.tif file. It obviously is part of the catalog, LR knows it's there but it does not appear in the Grid. I really need a solution to this because I've build my workflow around moving files around with LR and this is a major setback for me now.

When will this camera be supported?
So far the only way I have discovered is to laboriously click the checkbox on each image I want to import. It seems that one should be able to select a range with one click (e.g. holding down Shift and then clicking the last image in the range) or by using a context (right-click) menu. No dice.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been comparing the embedded JPEG images with ones generated using the various profiles supplied with Lightroom. I expected the embedded JPEG to "agree" with the one generated using Camera Standard but that has not been the case with Nikon D700 and Nikon V1 files. I am now wondering if my expectations are too high.
A possible difficulty in making the comparisons is not knowing what control slider settings and Tone Curve I should use. What is the correct procedure?
Why does Lightroom 5 show "embedded" as an option for camera profile for .dng files created by my pentax k-30? I thought that "embedded" profiles did not apply to .dng files?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have copied the contents of an intermitant disk into a new one; outside of ligthroom(4). How do I copy the edits embeded into a ligthroom catalog to the new disk? Both disks have the same files. My master catalog sees the edits in the original disk. This same catalog sees the new disk without the edits in the original disk.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWith LR4 and a Nikon D7000.When i import that raw in lightroom, the first view of the picture is fine then LR do its "loading" and bang, the picture changes. As RAW is not supposed to be affected by the colorspace My understanding is the embeded preview in the raw is sRGB and LR work in a different colorspace. If i change the camera for AdobeRGB, i dont have the problem and what i see from the camera to the preview then the final result is consistent. But this cause me another problem because i shoot RAW+jpeg, the backup JPEG saved in the other memory card is now AdobeRGB as well and less compatible as everybody knows, for web, print labatory, etc...
I dont have in LR any automatic developement settings. My screen is calibrated with a Spyder 3.
I'm feeling stuck in the corner as i want by backup JPEG in sRGB and n o colorshift in LR.
I installed LR5 from LR4 yesterday and each time I open an image in CS5 from my LR5, I get the following message:
The document "IMG_9082.CR2"has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded: Adobe RGB (1998)
Working sRGB IEC61966-2.1
What would you like to do?
-Use the embedded profiel (instead of the working space)
-Convert documents's colors to the working space
-Discard the embedded profile (don't color manage)
My camera's settings have it set with sRGB, LR4 and LR5 have sRGB and I have CS5 workspace as sRGB. This did not happen before.
Is it possible that when LR5 updated the LR4 catalogue, it changed the profile of all my photos? I don't know, maybe I've done something, but I can't see what as I don't remember changing anything.
The loupe view on the second screen used to display information about the photo. I double clicked on it and it disappeared and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it back.
On the primary screen this can be added/removed or changed in Library Module by selecting the menu view->view options... which gets you to a settings window where you can set what shows. However, I cannot seem to find a similar thing for the second monitor.
Email Photos as Attachments from Lightroom 5
Is it possible to email photos as attachments (jpg), not embededed within email? Mac users report when they receive the email, photo is only embedded, there is no attachment so they cannot download.
Windows, of course, does not allow thumbnail preview of PSD format. Is there a simple way of previewing PSD's without opening each one within PSCS?
I have many PSD slides (to preserve layering for subsequent changes) and all that appears within Windows Explorer/Viewer is the PSD/logo and name of the file.
need to view thumbnails of files. max without having to install the program.
similar to DWG viewer
