I purchased LR5 and found out it can't read my Photoshop psd files. So as it stands I have about 10,000 psd files that LR can't read. Is there a easy way to batch convert so LR can read. Or just trash LR and stick with CS6.

Have to Graph some data that involves the population within an age group. The lowest number on the graph needs to be 3,700,000 and the highest 4,800,000. I plot the data BUT how to adjust the settings to get the lower number I need. Divisions should be "11" but

we have a design that we want to fill with 100 pictures. Then we want to be able to replace those pictures with another 100 pictures and so on. The design will have blends and other things applied to it so when the new pictures are input they would have the effects applied.

I know I can use Open Type and select the Fractions option for each individual fraction, but that would take forever.
How do I create a style (or whatever) that will allow me to just type in the numbers and have them automatically apply small formatting to the fraction portion of the number whenever it sees a "/"?
Along a similar line, I was trying to copy table data from a PDF document from Acrobat X Pro and paste that into an IDCS6 table, so each cell is populated by the appropriate cell data from the PDF file, but didn't have any success. That would really save me a lot of time, because I have many complete tables in PDF format. The data is not protected in the PDF, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to bring it over to IDCS6.

I'm planning on moving over to Lightroom soon. My problem is that my files are distributed over two machines (one windows, one mac), I want to put the files on an external hard drive and have only the catalogue on the mac (the harddisk of that machine is too small to hold all the files). So I thought I'd rebuild everything from scratch, let LR rename and copy all the files into a new folder structure, possibly even converting to DNG while doing so. Is that possible? Should I break this up into several steps? (I'm talking about around 40 thousand files)

edit: As far as I understood a book on lightroom that I bought, it should work this way -- it's just that I'm not sure whether it's the best way...

Most of the time I export photos from lightroom archive if I want to use a pic. Now I found that I can't load/edit this files in PS. Open yes, pic is to see, but there will be alwway a ring and I can't do anything. The only I can do is killing PS by TaskManager.
Open smaller pics ist just fine. So I found: convert the LR-Jpeg by another programm to 96ppi. Open it in PS an make it to 300ppi, edit the one and only layer, save it as usual Jpeg. Now it es a big edited Jpeg picture. (But doesn't make sence to change the sizes therefore) But if I try to edit this again, I will get the same hanging PS after it was opened.
Maybe it is an issue for large files in PS? And has nothing wih my LR-exported files to do?
I'm new to Lightroom and was attempting to prepare a file to send to a print lab. I want to produce a large format single image with dimensions of 52" x 36". I've prepared this in the 'print' module but when I press 'print to file...' it warns me that the file is 760mb and I may run out of memory! Is this file to large to sent to a printer, how can I reduce the size of the file without reducing the quality of the print? or is this just a standard file size for a large format printed image?

I recently replaced the harddrive that only held 2009 with a 3TB drive that should be able to accomodate 2010,2011 and 2012. I would like to move those files onto that drive within Lightroom so that it tracks where they are.

I'm copying RAW files from a shoot onto my network RAID drive in a per-album folder, from where I then import into a new LR catalog (I'm using LR 4.1) on my Windows laptop for that album.
I'm finding that editing RAW files on a network drive from a wireless laptop is awfully slow (not to mention not being able to continue the work offline somewhere else), so I'd like to cache those files on my speedy SSD drive just until I'm done editing and exporting/publishing that album.
I back up my per-album catalog onto the network folder alongside the RAW files since that's my IT-managed master repository. When I'm done editing, I'd purge the cached files and just keep the catalog previews on my limited capacity SSD.
So, is there a way to tell LR to, for one/all files imported from a location (in my case a network folder), look in an alternate location for the identical files? Since I create per-album catalogs in per-album folders, there wouldn't be filename clashing. Either LR can provide this caching behavior on its own or I'd manually copy files from the network folder to a local folder and tell LR to look there first.
I don't really want to make copies of files into secondary folders within LR since then it's a hassle to merge edits on the cached copy to its master copy (I haven't done this, but I'd imagine so).
I have subroutine that retrieves a list of detail numbers in a drawing. Sometimes there are missing numbers. I am looking to find a list of any missing numbers.
Example -

I am trying to link my parts list to a drawing however all balloons have different numbers.
I open the assembly and check everything out from vault I open my bom and change item numbers. When I get back to my drawing and apply for auto balloon I get completely different item numbers in my balloons. We just updated our software to a new 2012 version so it's maybe something with set up.
Is there a way to sync callout numbers to correspond with note numbers. When I add or delete notes in my drawings it takes to much time to update the callout number in the drawings. I need to figure out a way for the note and corresponding callout to change at the same time.

It's really annoying because I end up with a bunch of extra files and only need the single exported version that I overwrite when making changes to the AI file. My current goal is to specify the rotation and translation of an object using a text file full of numbers. I have been told that I should import a "move" file. However, I can't seem to find any kind of reference about the move file format or how to use it. I see in the import dialog box that there is a file type called "move" but I don't know how to format the data that I put into the "move" file.
Also, I tried to export a "move" file so I could take a look at what Maya generates, but I keep getting the error "// Error: Could not save file "C:/My Documents/maya/projects/body_in_ocean/scenes/examplemove.mov".
I created a group with my object in one file, referenced it in my working file, moved the group around and set some keys in the working file, but I can't seem to export any move data. How to get this to work?
For some reason when I try to upload my photos it is coming up with an error that states "only letters and numbers are allowed" "Please remove all illegal characters" then it will say "1 of how many" I went into the preferences and changed all of that info under the file information. I am making sure there are no illegal characters there. I am using Lightroom 3.
