How can I graph these using Illustrator 3? When I enter them, I get this message Also, when I try to override the override the value axis numbers, it won't let me enter a number that high.
I need to do this soon and I just need a method that will work with such large numbers and maintain the accuracy of the data relationships.
Have to Graph some data that involves the population within an age group. The lowest number on the graph needs to be 3,700,000 and the highest 4,800,000. I plot the data BUT how to adjust the settings to get the lower number I need. Divisions should be "11" but
- Object; Graph; Type; Graph Options; Value Axis - but then I can not enter 3,700,000 as the minimum.
I purchased LR5 and found out it can't read my Photoshop psd files. So as it stands I have about 10,000 psd files that LR can't read. Is there a easy way to batch convert so LR can read. Or just trash LR and stick with CS6.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of engineering data, dimensions, etc, to enter into an existing IDCS6 Table. I need whole numbers to display full size, but fractions to be small size. I know I can use Open Type and select the Fractions option for each individual fraction, but that would take forever.
How do I create a style (or whatever) that will allow me to just type in the numbers and have them automatically apply small formatting to the fraction portion of the number whenever it sees a "/"?
Along a similar line, I was trying to copy table data from a PDF document from Acrobat X Pro and paste that into an IDCS6 table, so each cell is populated by the appropriate cell data from the PDF file, but didn't have any success. That would really save me a lot of time, because I have many complete tables in PDF format. The data is not protected in the PDF, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to bring it over to IDCS6.

Long time user, first time poster. I'm curious if there is any way to graph out a series of color swatches in Photoshop? The way you can create a bar graph from a series of columns in a spreadsheet software, for example. Reason I'm asking, is that lately I'm doing more and more fine tuning of skin colors on photo closeups, and using the color sample tool to measure HSL across skin surfaces.
I've used gradient mapping in some occasions to smooth out color tones in certain areas. Having some visual tools to graph out things like saturation or luminance across a series of sampled points would be very useful imo. Sometimes I do this already in a spreadsheet software, but that can get time consuming.
I'm trying to add a graph over a picture, like a 10x20 graph over a pic, but I cant figure out how to do it. Any suggestions?

I am trying to link my parts list to a drawing however all balloons have different numbers.
I open the assembly and check everything out from vault I open my bom and change item numbers. When I get back to my drawing and apply for auto balloon I get completely different item numbers in my balloons. We just updated our software to a new 2012 version so it's maybe something with set up.
Is there a way to sync callout numbers to correspond with note numbers. When I add or delete notes in my drawings it takes to much time to update the callout number in the drawings. I need to figure out a way for the note and corresponding callout to change at the same time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working on a project which involves over 16 artboards in the same document, though when i want to change the order of the artboards [for saving as a PDF] i have to move all my artboards content to new artboard, etc.etc. This is really annoying, especially when i want to insert a new artboard between some excisting ones.
So is it possible to somehow change the order of the artboards, or they numbers [basically the same]?
When I try entering a X/Y coordinate or enter the opacity number, when I try to type example 58, I type the 5 first then the 8 but it types it in as 85 putting the text infront
Also, when I type in the coordinates and want to delete the decimal place example, 23.756 to 24, I try clicking in the place and hitting backspace or highlighting the 3.756 and entering 4, it will hurry and highlight everything so when I backspace it delets all or when I enter the 4 it will highlight all and put the 4 so my object flys to another part of the art board.
I have several Freehand bar graphs and line graphs that I need to convert to Illustrator.So far, I have saved the files to Illustrator 7 and then opened them in Illustrator CS2.
But the numbers underlying the graphs don't seem to come through.How can I keep those numbers intact, bringing them in from Illustrator so that I can go back into them and update numbers to generate the bar graphs and line graphs in Illustrator?
Every now and then, my stroke loses the ability to do digit reduction. For instance, when I try to create a 1.5 point stroke, it rounds up the line to an even "2".

It's really annoying because I end up with a bunch of extra files and only need the single exported version that I overwrite when making changes to the AI file. It's also annoying when I have an exported file linked in a Premiere or Indesign file. I was last using CS3 wich didn't have this 'feature.'

These numbers that appear on individual artboards would
1) correspond to the artboards numbers in the artboard pallette and
2) would also not be printable or included on any other export type (web for example), unless the user specified they'd like that option (perhaps when exporting, this option could be displayed).
Illustrator applies the subscript effect only to numerical characters, e.g. 1,2,etc. But it does NOT apply it to alphabetical characters, e.g. a, b, c etc. I observe this using the default Myriad Pro font, as well as other fonts.
How do I apply subscript to regular letters (not just numbers)?
p.s. I am using the Ctrl+T menu, then go to OpenType tab and select Subscript under Position setting, and observe the issue above. Am I doing something wrong here?
I'm using CS2 on Mac OSX 10.4. Recently I tried importing a Photoshop image into Illustrator and then matching a color in Illustrator to a color in the Photoshop document. But Illustrator changed the CMYK values of the color in the Photoshop document even though I have "Preserve CMYK colors" checked in the color setup window. Both applications and files are set to SWOP v2.
I don't have the same problem when placing either Photoshop or Illustrator files into InDesign.
I ended up recreating the project in InDesign to get consistent color, but I need to know how to make Illustrator preserve color numbers for the project that will come up for which I need Illustrator features.
I need to export with artboard. Illustrator automatically adds a number to my original file name. It won't even let me replace the old file. It is extremely annoying and makes flow with other programs really hard because they can't auto update, since the file name changes. When you have multiple files, you can't be manually renaming all the time.

I'm relatively new to using illustrator and im trying to change the dpi of a drawing. One of my frinds made a T-shirt design in a non adobe software program, forget it know, and accidentally draw it at a 100 dpi file and looks blured when changed to a 185x185 pixel size. Can I take that file and change it to 300 dpi?

Document Raster Effects>
and select dpi quality
I've already done that and it doesn't look like it did anything. Does it need to be redrawn?

I have an .eps file that contains a couple of dots and some hash marks, but the file size is ~4.2MB. I have deleted the unused color swatches, bringing the file size down to ~3.3MB. At this point however, I cannot figure out why the file is still so large. Judging from the number of unused color swatches, thousands if not tens of thousands, I am thinking that the user has been importing artwork into this same template for years. With that in mind, what other objects can accumulate to create an unusually large file size? I believe we can have the user create a new template, but I would like to know exactly what is happening so that we can prevent this issue from occuring in the future.

Saving a large file from illustrator to PDF. The pdf is only saving the printer marks and bleeds. Checked the layers in the pdf. Made sure the pdf compatible was checked in Illustrator.

I duplicated one of my previously created CS6 Adobe Illustrator files (28 MB) with photos that have clipping masks. Why is my new AI file now 148 MB in size, when all of my newly linked jpeg graphics total only 9 MB? If I save it as a regular pdf it's 148MB, but if I save this same file with the smallest size pdf format, it reduces it down to only 242 KB. No files are embedded either in my newly created AI file. My business associate working on other Illustrator files experiences this same phenomenon sporadically at times too. It has us both baffled.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working with Illustrator CS6 and I have to prepare a file that will be printed as a 6 foot x 1.5 foot banner. Actually, it will be several banners; the same design but only the name of the organization will change. I have everything on different layers in the .ai file.
I've done the artwork as an .ai file, everything is a vector, there are no rasterized images in it at all.
The problem is, I'm not sure the best way to save the file to send to the printer. So, do I save the .ai file as a pdf, a pdf/x-1a, pdf/x-3 or pdf/x-4? Should I convert the text to outlines? There's a symbol in the artwork that includes text, does that text have to be converted to outlines as well?
Or should I just send them a file any which-a-way and see how the proof comes back?
