Lightroom :: How Make A Preset Or Set Up Printer With Correct ICC Profile
Apr 8, 2014
Using Lightrooms printmodule with this printer is a big problem for me. Using Cannon Print studio Works, but then you loose a lot of great functionallity in LR print module.
It seems that when I make a preset or set up printer with correct ICC profile the canon printer driver automatically resets to its own default.
It looks like a print driver in the background resets everything i do. Very confusing and Canon support points to adobe.
My setup:
Macpro with OSX 10.9.2 (latest version)
Lightroom 5.3 (creative cloud member, always latest version)
Canon Pixma pro-100 (bought new april 2014)
I have looked several places on internett and it looks that there are a lot people having similar problems.
I'd like to use printer color management in LR4. My printer is not in the list. Where do I get ICC profiles for an HP Photosmart 8250 printer and "HP Advanced" paper?
When I open a photo and try use the lens profile option. It only find my one wrong lens profile.
My lens is TAMRON 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 and in "progmdata -> adobe ->CamereRaw ->lensprofile" directory the lens profile is there Together with another 19 items.
But in LR when I open the lens profile and choose tamron, It automatically selects a wrong lens, when I try to choose a different lens It shows only the wrong lens (where is all the 19 lenses??), How can I fixed it that I could choose my lens?
Within Lightroom 5, I set up a print template for a new Canon ix6550 printer and used it for some months. I happily printed around 40 images.
I sold a few prints, and needed to print identical copies. Up until a few weeks ago, all worked fine.
Then, a few weeks ago, I tried to re-print 2 copies of a single image. The first copy printed OK (it looked like the original), I pressed the 'Print' button once more and the second print came out 'trashed' with extreme increases in saturation and contrast plus a decreased exposure.
I tried altering all sorts of things and printing test strips, but could not get a viable print.
I did not save any changes to the template or to the development settings of the images.
A few days later, I tried again. Without changing anything, the first test strip looked OK, so I went on to successfully print two A4 prints, then the third and all subsequent attempts to print resulted in trashed prints as described above.
Since then, I have determined that if I allow the printer to manage the colours, the test strips look fine. I don't know if I would see a difference on the full sized prints.
So I thought maybe the profile is corrupt? So I downloaded the drivers again from Canon and re-installed - no difference.(Although I do not know enough to locate and delete the originals first.)Should I let the printer manage colours? Will it matter?
softproofing. I apply a color profile appropriate to my printer/ink/paper, and then I can see what colours are in/out of gamut, and won't print as I expect. But, when I click Soft Proofing, the image takes on a less saturated look, however if I select SRGB as a profile it looks normal. That is I believe because sRGB is the profile I have been using anyway. What I don't understand is why the whole image changes. I assume there is more to it than just colours in and out of Gamut.
I do so LR4 asks if I want a proof copy, which is fine and I understand why. When I make a proof copy though, all the adjustments are greyed out so I cannot do anything.
how to print A3 size borderless portriat using Epson R1500W. I've got this printer 2 days ago and still can not figure aout how to do it. I've got few mm blank in either side of lenght wise.
I just noticed yesterday that when I have RAW (DNG) files in my LR5.2 library, I can select the correct lens profile to apply. When I take three of those files and merge them together in Photomatix Pro they come back as a single TIFF file. Now LR only has one lens profile available, and it is the wrong one.
This is happening with my Sony NEX-7 and Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR DI-III VC. With the RAW files, I have a list of Tamron lenses from which to choose, and the correct one is available. For the merged TIFF file, however, only a single Tamron lens is available for selection, and it is not the lens I used.
I get a slight difference in color in my prints my when I use LR prifile vs Canon printer managed. The Canon is much truer to what I see on both monitors which, btw, are calibrated. LR throws in a slight magenta cast. Is there a way to correct this?
I have a Fuji X-e1 and the latest update of LR 4.4 running on 10.6.8, 16GB RAM, all OS software up to date.
The problem is my Fuji RAW files don't show the correct lens profile in the Develop module. The only choice available to choose is for Fuji X100 (which I've never owned or shot). The metadata in the Library module is correct for both the lens and camera, and also shows correctly in Bridge.
However, with the same software on a friend's Macbook Pro -- also 10.6.8, LR 4.4, etc. -- the lens profile correctly allows for the X-e1 and 18mm lens auto-correction.
I uninstalled LR on the desktop using an uninstaller called Zap It, downloaded 4.4, reinstalled and still the same 'error'.
For example, I often export a folder of full-res images, and then go back and do the same images as lo-res with watermarks, that I export to an "email" folder inside the hi-res folder. That way, I email the little ones for clients to peruse, and then send the full-res after they agree to buy. I know I can set up two presets and do them separately, but thought I'd ask.
Using LR 3.5.1. When applying Lens Corrections/Profile/Enable in Default, my Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 actual lens is being corrected by the profile for a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 lens. I can tell it's the wrong correction because the barrel distortion after using the default profile is not corrected, and when I manually select the 4-5.6 lens the correction is perfect. So I know the right data is embedded in the LR correction data bank but is not being used.
I found that when I set the profile Setup selector to "Auto" the correct lens is selected and the correction it makes is "correct." But then moving to the next photo it switches to Default again, selecting the wrong lens, and so has to be set to Auto for each photo. This action doesn't seem to me to me an expected result called "Setup." I need this for my home interior photography, and with hundreds of photos a week I don't want to manually operate this. This didn't happen until v.3.4 or 3.5, I think.
So, how do I get it to select the right lens as the Default, or get the Auto setting to stick? Either would do. (Seems to me they logically are the same thing).
In addition, why isn't it possible to have the profile itself enabled as a default perhaps in a preset - or is that possible and I don't know how to do it? In other words, once it's working right, why not make it an import preset for that lens?
Why is there a 'lightroom video preset' under the preset tabs. yet when i open a video file in lightroom and go to the develop modue it says video is not supported in the develop module?
I have a Canon 60D, and it has all the different color profiles such as Landscape, Portrait, Standard, Faithful, etc. I noticed that the pictures I took look amazing in the camera's monitor, but when imported into Lightroom they looked kind of washed out, the colors were not as vibrant and the contrast was a bit flat. But rencently I discovered that in the Develop module there's an option for Profile, which by default is set to Adobe Standard, but it's a drop down list that also has all the camera's profiles, and once I select the one I used when taking that photo, it looks excellent, very similar to what I see in the camera.
It's not a terrible deal to apply it to one, then copy settings, go to grid, select all the photos taken with the same profile and then paste settings, but is there a way that Lightroom (4.2) can import the profile that was used for the photo and also apply it, instead of using Adobe standard by default?
i have made a custom stroke width profile and want to back it up for future use i found two files called variablewidth or something but the date modified wasn't congruent to when i created the profile.
where can i find the files that contain this preset to back up?
I use this profile in CS5, i tried in CC and the profile is not there.
I tried installing the ICC bundle here [URL] but Uncoated Fogra29 or any Fogra profiles are not selectable or visable when printing in photoshop CC. (although fogra29 is in the bundle). How I can install this profile in CC?
I found Uncoated Fogra29 the best profile to use with my Epson Inkjet Printer. (better than the default Epson Profile)
Every structure for my Sanitary pipe network is showing up properly in the profile view except the last 2. They're showing as rectangles when they should have the cone on top. I've checked the properties of the correct ones and the incorrect ones and they're the same style. I looked at the parts and I couldn't see anything wrong with them. In the screenshot you can see that the 3 manholes on the left are the correct kind with the cone whereas the 2 on the right are just rectangles.
I use an outside service to make prints. How can I save an image in PSE 11 in either TIFF or JPEG format with the color profile for the outside lab's printer?
Recently, I have needed to convert my CR2 or DNG files to CMYK profile for a printer. It is my understanding that PS Elements (any version) does not support CMYK profiles. I am an avid amateur I think I need to change from Photoshop Elements to CC or PSCS. What would be the most cost effective way to accomplish this goal?
I create Layout using Inventor, save the file into AUTOCAD DWG format, and then load it to AutoCad. After I open it, the predetermine dimensions (which I select to display the dimension in Inventor) are right. However, the dimension goes wrong if I do a new measurement on the Layout using Autocad. For example, 3 inch distance could be 0.212 in AutoCad (Note I just make up the number, I just want to show the problem is not inch to mm problem), .
In Development module in LR4.4, viewing a Fuji X100s raw file (converted on import to DNG) I tick the box for "Enable Profile Corrections" under "Lens Corrections," and select "Auto" from the "Setup" menu. I would have thought that LR would pick up the X100s profile, but no, nothing happens. If I choose "Fujifilm" from the "Make" dropdown, I can find the X100 (not X100s) profile manually. The profile's probably pretty similar, but still, I'm wondering why my install of 4.4 doesn't have the X100s profile in place?
While I'm at it, I'll ask this too -- I recently bought the new Nikkor 35mm 1.8G ED (the new full frame 35mm Nikon lens, not the trusty 35mm 1.8DX) and there's no profile for that lens in my LR4.4 either.
Finally, I note that when I choose "Check for Updates" from the "Help" menu in LR, I'm told there are no updates available.
When I load an image either a jpeg or psd file then make a layer copy I am unable to apply a preset action to this. Either a default action or one of my own on a Mac OSX running Lion. This did not present a problem in CS5 and I am wondering if I've missed something basic?
I have a designer that created this beautiful (but complicated) design in illustrator and now we're trying to get it exported to html. The thing is, most of the images that are in tds we want to be background images so that we can put stuff on top of it. So we need the exported html to generate the image size correctly. For example, I don't want
The problem is that illustrator for whatever reason is generating the images slightly too small (I guess to make the image size smaller?), then is stretching them using width and height attributes. As I'm sure you guys are aware of, the background attribute has no way of specifying a width and height.
I have a touchscreen project that I am using Edge Animate to create. So far its working great, but I am trying to find the correct code to make an Idle Timeout after 3 minutes to go back to the stage frame 1 or the label "StageStart" that I have created. I have tried attaching the following code as a 3 second test to the function "touchend", but it doesn't seem to work:
I just bought the Tamron SP 90 2.8 DI MACRO USD and LR lens profiles only lists this lens for Canon (F004E) and Nikon (F004N). There is no profile for Sony (F004S) ! Any drawback if I use F004E or N ? Or better use a the profile of the older Model of that lens where there is a Sony profile ?
