Nov 19, 2012It did show the Epson Perfection 4870 Photo Scanner.
This is the window that comes up after clicking on File.> Import>WIA Support
The old scanner Epson 4870 Perfection Photo was listed above WIA Support and is still listed on Photoshop Elements 6, which also shows the V600, but, not Photoshop Elements 9 ?
Ps.This is a little frustratimg, it appears Premiere Elements 6 although older works far better, in the monitor and shows the V600 immediately in Pro mode ,just as well it was a free addition with the Epson Scanner.

Nov 24, 2012I just upgraded from Photoshop Elements 6 to Elements 11 on a brand new iMac running OS X 10.8.2, but Elements 11 will not recognize my Epson Perfection 4990 PHOTO Scanner as an option to import from when I click on "File" then "Import." Is there a Plug-In that may be missing for this to operate as it used to in Elements 6 running on an older G5 Non-Intel processor? I don't have the new Elements 11 Disk to copy anything from, since I downloaded the program directly from Adobe.

A bit of background: I graduated in photography a couple of years back and I've used PS6 and now PS7 quite extensively. I use an Epson 3200 scanner to scan my medium format (6x7) and large format (5x4) negs and trannies (that's FILM trannies...not the other kind!). If they are for exhibition, I'd burn them to CDROM and get a digital lab to print them for me otherwise they'd get printed on my Epson 760 (yes, it's quite old now!).
I've always had issues getting the screen calibrated. How would you guys go about correcting the relationship between the scanner/screen/printer? The screen is a Viewsonic E70 and I use the E70 profile.
Photoshop :: CC Won't Recognize Default Printer
Jul 22, 2013I'm on a Mac, I have three printers, and I want to use one in particular for a PS printing task. I fill up the printer with the right paper, then call up the file and hit "print", forgetting to notice that the assigned printer is the wrong one. So a wasted proof. So I go to Sys Prefs and set the "default" printer to the one I want, go back to PS, pick the file, hit print, and I still get the wrong printer, so I set the print dialogue box for the right one manually, get the print, call up another file, and hit print again. The Print dialogue box has reset back to the wrong printer. Photoshop seems to have its own "default" printer selection system, independent of the overall system preferences. How the heck do I get PS to recognize and use the "default" printer, rather than settling on its own random choice?

Problem-
I recently installed Photoshop CS4. I still have CS3 installed. When I go to print from CS4, it prompts me that there is no printer installed on my pc. (CS3 will still print without issues). I have downloaded and installed the latest and greatest drivers for my Canon Pixma Pro 9500. I have tried recreating the Photoshop preference file and still no good on either attempted solution. I even tried unistalling CS3 - no good.
How do I "convince" Photoshop CS4 that printer software and drivers exist on my pc?

Dec 19, 2012I am trying to scan images from HP8600 printer/scanner attached via network. I get this error message "Not enough memoy to complete this action. Please close one or more documents or applications and try again. If this does not correct problem, you can try adjusting the memeory setting in Windows or you can work on a smaller version of the document."
I have already:
- rebooted to have a "fresh" copy of Windows 7
- increased the virtual memory from 6GB to 9GB
- decreased the scan to 100dpi (from the standard 200 dpi)
- tried a different HP8600
- had the HP8600 scan and push the image to the computer (works, but just an average image)
- searched the forum
- read the PSPX5 bug thread

Before installing CS6, I could quite happily scan photos etc via my scanner, from within Elements 8, but now when I go 'File > Get Photos and Videos > From Scanner' within Elements 8 (with Photoshop CS6 not open at the time, incidentally), I get a message saying 'Software for this device could not be launched. The device is not connected or is busy'. I would like to be able to scan from either Photoshop applications.

Jan 9, 2013I've just upgraded from Elements 4 to 11 using Mac OS 10.6 Previously, when I wanted to import an image from my Canon 8600F Scanner I went to File,Import,Canoscan 8600 and the Twain driver window appeared. No problem.Now with 11 this doesn't happen. It doesn't happen with either Editor or Organizer. A search on these pages shows a similar problem with Elements 10. I've carried out this procedure but it doesn't work. Why not? What is the point of this programme if it won't import from a scanner or am I missing something?
