Recently, I have needed to convert my CR2 or DNG files to CMYK profile for a printer. It is my understanding that PS Elements (any version) does not support CMYK profiles. I am an avid amateur I think I need to change from Photoshop Elements to CC or PSCS. What would be the most cost effective way to accomplish this goal?

after this i have save file and close it and i didn't have backup of this file.
Now How do i recover my all layers
i need only my layers back.....
I just need to know if elements can work in CMYK, or do I have to purchase another Photoshop format - if so, what is the cheapest way I can do this?

the product layer is converted to working Color settings but the transparent layer isn't and is converted completely different, both grayscale and UCR/GCR.
How do I convert a photo to CMYK format in Photoshop Elements 12? If I cannot, is there another program in adobe that would allow me to convert a photo to CMYK format?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEach time I open a file in AI - CS3 I get the same message: "Missing Profile - The doc does not have an embedded CMYK profile". I looked in library>colorsync>profiles and sure enough they were gone? I downloaded new profiles from Adobe, installed them in library>colorsync>profiles - and still the same thing with each file I open. I dragged AI to the trash, re-installed AI from my disc repeated the process with the same results .

1. Are the CMYK working space options in photoshop actually printer profiles? eg. U.S Web coated (SWOP) v2
2. I ask the guys who do the offset printing what printer profile they use and that is the one i should select in photoshop.
3. So when I soft proof it uses the CMYK working space and my file is previewed or it mimics what i would look like printed on the paper/ink combination at the printers.
4. All the CMYK working spaces available in photoshop are all ICC compliant?
I need to create an output PDF that is CMYK for the printer.
I thought I was doing everything correctly until I got this message that was generated when I selected Export (to PDF), "The document is using CMYK space. Colors are converted to RGB in interactive PDF files. To avoid color changes, click Cancel and choose Document RGB from the Edit > Transparency Blend Space menu. Click OK to continue."
So, I think this means that the PDF export is being saved in an RGB color space. Is that a correct interpretation? If so, how do I preserve the CMYK color space because that is what the commercial printer requires? Is that even possible or relevant?
Assign Profile and Convert to Profile does not shows in Edit menu for PS CS3. How do I get those options displayed on the Edit Tab?

I tried installing the ICC bundle here [URL] but Uncoated Fogra29 or any Fogra profiles are not selectable or visable when printing in photoshop CC. (although fogra29 is in the bundle). How I can install this profile in CC?
I found Uncoated Fogra29 the best profile to use with my Epson Inkjet Printer. (better than the default Epson Profile)

Second question: If it IS necessary, why do I get a alert in Photoshop saying "You are about to convert to CMYK using 'U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2' profile.
I have and image in CMYK which client used to print packagings.
During the printing process in printing house replaced the black channel with Pantone 280. So fall all is fine.
But now the client want to have other layout with those packagings in their real colors (the way they are printed - back replaced with Pantone), and can provide only images with black color.
So far i tried to:
1. Convert CMYK to Multichannel
2. Replace Black with Pantone 280
3. Convert Multichannelto CMYK .
Last one was not successful, because Pantone channel was replaced with black and the areas which were blue become black again.
I also tried to save the Multichannel image as EPS and to print it trough indesing with option to convert or not to convert colors. Again blue areas become black.(OS Windows 7, CS5.5)
I'm drawing cartoons in black & white for a publication. I've been told that I must make the black 100% and the CMY 0%. After I scan the image I convert it from RGB to CYMK mode but I can see in the channel's palette that it has colors mixed into the black. If clear the CMY channels it image loses detail. I've also desaturated the image but it doesn't seem to do anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter much work, and after I convert my Nikon D7100 NEF files to DNG, Camera Raw starts when I open the DNG file. What is very strange it that it indicates I am using Camera Raw 7.1 with a Nikon D7100 file.
(Strangely enough, I have not found a way to launch Camera Raw directly.)

I absolutely need the chromatic aberration tool. And a few others would be great.
Where do I get this ? How do I install it ?
In elements 10 i used to be able to convert multiple .nef files to various jpeg resolutions at one time by using "process multiple files" under the file heading. When i try to do this inelements 11, that option is unavailable (unhighlighted). How do i do this?
