How do I make Lightroom automatically fill out the Altitude field as well, when dragging a picture onto the map? I don't suppose it's all too common to be anywhere above (or below) ground level, and I do believe Google Maps has altitude information in it. Roughly at least. And if I where on a tall building, or in a mine, I could still change it afterwards.
I'm using Lightroom 4.3 atm, can I make it do this?
I have recently imported pictures *.CR2 with *.XMP containing GPS coordinates and altitude information.
From my last import (LR4.1 or 4.2) I remember that I was able to drag pictures in the Map view adjusting GPS coordinates, without touching altitude information which was what I needed.
Today I discovered that as soon as I move an image on the map, the altitude value is automatically deleted. And this happens in LR4.3 and also in LR5.0. I understand that if you change the GPS position, the altitude changes also, but for adjustment I have to make, there are no big altitude changes therefore keeping the original value for me is good.
Is there a way to "lock" altitude number, in order to keep the original value, when moving photos on the map?
I have just bought a Panasonic GH3 which is able to sync and add GPS data to images from my phone to the camera.
On importing the files to LR 4.3, the GPS and Altitude sections of EXIF remain blank. On the import preset I use, the Camera Info section is all unticked.
If I go to the folder where I store my image files (the folder which LR catalogues) after the import and drop the file on to Exiftool, all the GPS information is listed there. That is, the LR import RW2->DNG has retained the information. It is there but not displayed.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have to fill in a large area of shingle siding (vertical shake) with color and so far the only way I've discovered to accomplish this is to fill in each individual shake, one-by-one (and there are hundreds and hundreds of them). I'm using a pdf file oepned in Gimp. I tried saving it as a jpeg in the hopes of selecting an entire wall of shakes and coloring them with a single click, but it didn't work.

I have an Excell file with assigned color combinations (values from 1 to 6) in the rows, and the shape name (A to F) in the columns. Column 7 is a string containin the color combination names (i.d. 123456, 123345 etc...) so that I can output each combination with the color/numbers in the name.
I'd like Illustrator to pick every row and assign the contained colors to each shape of the column and to export a .png with the name from column 7 content.
Just simple as that! But to me it sounds pretty hard!
Is there a script that makes it already posted somewhere? - i couldn't find any - or something simliar to start coding from?
i'm working in AutoCAD 2006 , so the project is that, i have a pdf with contours of an area, i have to rasterize it as a jpg picture, pass it to AutoCAD (i have done this so far..) and then i have to find the X , Y and Z coordinates of some points in the picture. Well with the "ID" command, i found the X and Y coordinates but as Z it gives me 0,0000.. How can i pick a point in the jpg and find the Z? I have to find the altitude!

Until now when I left or right click a color with nothing selected it allowed me to set it as a default fill or outline color for graphics, artistic text, or paragraph text. It does not do that now.
Is this a "feature" that's been added that I somehow enabled? In any event, how do I turn it off?

I'm trying to find a way to automatically set the stroke color of each square to the respective fill color. Is there an Illustrator script somewhere that would achieve that? I am not aware of an internal Illustrator command for this purpose.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhere in the SQLite database is the "Title" field? I have analyzed the database structure (after linking a copy of the LRCAT to MS-Access via ODBC), and found practically all fields of interest. I even managed to convert the shutter speed and aperture data (which are logarithmic) to useful values. But I did not find the "Title" field in the DB. I found that any entry made into "Title" is written into the picture file's EXIF data but I cannot believe that LR uses that as the only storage for the picture title.
Note: I do not use the database link to change any data in the LR database. I use this only to more effective browse through the picture data
PS: If the Title field is not currently in the LRCAT database I would suggest to add it. It does not make sense in my opinion to have 99% of the picture data inside LR, and rely on the picture file's EXIF data for one or two items.
Bridge has a field in the EXIF metadata called Exposure Mode. Lightroom does not. Can this field be added in Lightromm? And, if so, how?

Also, I was told that LR5 adds contrast to the file upon import, even with raw. The person that said this corrects for this by decreasing exposure by 2 steps and decreasing contrast by -33.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am organizing photo's of patients in a lightroom catalog. Each patient has a folder with his ID number. These are organised in the catalog according to the pathology. I can import photo's of the same patient after one year and I would like them to go easily in the same folder, with his ID number. Because the catalog with subfolders is large, it can be hard to find that folder. Is there an easy, 'automatic' way to find it, and to put the new photo's straight in this folder?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Lightroom 5.2 and Photoshop CC. I also use a number of publish services. If I use Lightroom to edit a photo that has previously been published, it will be marked automatically for republishing. If I use Photoshop to edit a photo that has been previously published (in this case a .PSD) and I select Edit Original to preserve layers in the file, Lightroom does not seem to recognize that the photo has been edited externally, and does not automatically tag the photo for republishing. It happens this wal with all of the installed publish services.
Is this normal behavior, or have I inadvertently changed a Lightroom setting that prevents this from happening the way it should? It's quite annoying, and I have convinced myself that previously it did not operate this way.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI did a quick screen capture, and as you can see, the picture on the right (saturated) is the "unedited" version in lightroom, and the picture on the left is the raw file opened (used IrfanView). As you can see, my original file is quite flat, and I like it that way (easeier to edit), but lightroom imports it, and when I click on it to develop, it adds saturation. If I wanted to make it look like the origianl, I have to manually bring down the saturation by ~ -30! Why is Lightroom auto adjusting my images?
I used a Canon 6D to take this picture.
