View 3 RepliesPreviously shown folders from Pictures (iMac / Mavericks) on left side, no longer show up. When selecting Import, they show up on the lower right side. LR5 will not let me select from library so that I can work with the folders.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently working with a trial version of Lightroom 4.2 and i have been doing some silly things. The end result is that Catalog has disappeared from the left hand panel of the library tab ie i only see Folders, Collections and Publish Services..
I have tried to use File/New Catalog, Open Catalog and Open Recent but, in each case, I get an error box appearing: " ....catalog address refers to a location that is not available" it does not close and re-open LR
Now for the confession as to how this situation arose. I had been using LR quite happily using the catalogue which was automatically created when i started. Then I decided to try creating a new catalogue, in fact I ended up creating a few new catalogues. I decided to remove all the catalogues and start again with one catalogue which I would set up (I was not worried about losing the updates to the photos i had been playing around with) But, as i could find nothing within LR about deleting catalogues, I decided to remove them via Windows Explorer. When i went back into LR, Catalog was still showing in the left hand panel and, when i looked in Explorer, it was in the original folder My Pictures/Lightroom which I thought i had deleted along with all the other catalogues. Presumably it had been re-created automatically as in my original use of LR
I then compounded my mistakes by clicking on the + to the right of Catalog and, for interest, choosing whatever was at the top of the resultant list. It was at this point that Catalog disappeared never to be seen again.
While working in Lightroom today when I scroll down on the left side panel in grid view in the Library module the last item is Collections and the Publisher box is no longer there?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is my situation: I want to draw a vertical line on the left-hand side of my workspace about an inch away (to the right) from the left edge. Then I want to fill up that inch-wide column with a particular color. The end result being that I will have an inch-wide bar of color running vertically down the left side of my project.
I know this is probably really easy to do but it's been a long time since I had a course in Photoshop.
I use PSE 6.
lost basic panel from righthand side adjustable panel, how can i restore it? There are everything else but basic ones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using LR3. I appear to be digging a massive hole for myself trying to sort out the catalog. When I first got LR, I had initially added just a small number of files just to see how LR worked. At this time I was still completing sorting out my full photo collection in 'my pictures' which were also copied to two external hard drives. Once that work was completed, I imported a complete folder (some 4000 images) into LR. The folder/subfolders appeared in the folders panel but the sub folders I had initially imported were displayed with a ? and a message 'file is missing or offline' Going down the road of 'find missing folder' eventually led to my problems.
About 6 sub folders are involved so I eventually took the decision that it could be easier just to remove them so I could then re-import them from 'my pictures'. That hasn't worked out as planned. When I go into 'file' to import photos from 'my pictures' the missing sub folders are there but the images are 'greyed' as well as the import button. When I put the cursor onto one of the greyed-out images the message 'appears to be a duplicate of another photo already in catalog' appears.
how I can restore the 'missing' sub folders into the folders panel.
I have a modeled right hand part and a detail drawing of that right hand part with a pin that defines r.h from l.h. and I would like to save them as a left hand part then change the model by reversing the pin. How would I proceed with this task?

Then on the photo, I move the line on the top and left to where I want it. The aspect ratio then goes back to original size. What am I missing?

Im having a problem editing a photo 'face' one side 'left' side is lighter than the right side because of lighting. I was wondering If I could get both sides even prefably the lighter side like the normal side.
Is this possible? Because everytime I try edit the lighter side it still remains lighter.
In LR5 I am trying to import a folder but it is so deep within my hard drive that there are lots of parent folders I have to click through to get to it. The problem is that the left pane is only a few inches wide and by the time I get closer to the folder I wan, I can't see it. It seems like I should be able to simply widen the panel by clicking and dragging the edge of the panel but no slider arrows appear when I hover there. How do I widen the panel?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally installed lightroom 3 after many, many months of it sitting on my desk. I have been watching tutorials, and playing around with it, and I have found that the default presets are only on the right side panel in library. On the left panel in develop the heading presets shows up but when I click on the triangle nothing shows up under them. I did see a question already on here to right click on the heading and check it which I did a few times just to see if it would work and nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I move a selection of image files from one folder to another within lightroom there is always an error with at least one image and it doesn't make the move and is left. I can then reselect this image and then move it again.

The bar has the facebook icon as well as arrow to expand with only one album listed under it. I cannot imagine having endless bars for facebook as I upload albums. How do I correct this path. Also it doesn't show a wall post place as I saw on a tutorial. there is only an option to amke albums. What if I want to post a single photo to my wall?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recentely upgraded to LR4.1 and it seems to have done something strange with my Folders. As you can see in the earlier version all of my harddrives are displayed as panel items in the folders panel. However now it's only displaying the boot drive and i have to drill down to the volumes folder to get to my hard drives..This is pretty annoying since i work on multiple hard drives.
I have read in earlier versions that people found a workaround by using the "Promote Subfolders" option until all drives were displayed. However this option doesn't seem to be in LR 4. None of my hard drives are compressed, and they are all internal.
It may be worth noting that when I went to create a new catalog it didnt show any hard drives begin with.
Original Display of the Folders Panel
Current Display of the Folders Panel - as you can see only one drive is displaying.
I am running Mac Os X Lion 10.7.4, LR 4.1
I am having problems uploading from Book in Lightroom to Blurb. I have a book collection saved and I am connected to my page in Blurb. When I 'Upload to Blurb' the loading bar top left does not fill and the book does not upload. This is recent as I have successfully uploaded books before. There are no problems with my internet connection.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have opened an image in photoshop and when I choose "image size", it says that the image has a resolution of 72 pixels/inch ( it's a five x eight image..)

I recently upgraded from ps elements 10 to 12 and have noticed that all of my albums from 10 have disappeared, but to the lower right of each photo thumbnail there is a red album icon, and if I hang my mouse over it, it tells me what album it is in, but the album isn't listed on the left of the screen. I really do not want to recreate these albums, as it would be almost impossible. I am dealing with over 2000 photos over several years (downloaded from discs from the last several years). I need to have these albums back to print, delete, edit, share.

how do i get the left side of my menu bar in photoshop elements 6, to show the edit, file, view, find, window and help buttons. Only the camera and little house show up. The only thing that shows is a tiny arrow which is barely visible. All was okay the first time I installed to another computer (which has since crashed). The reinstalling of photoshop the second time is causing the above problem.
