I have a black background on the panels and the selection keywords, folders etc., are gray. This is verrrrry hard to work with for me. It LOOKS very nice but I need to change to a light gray background with black type. The preferences do not allow for this change.

My friend has taken some engagement photographs and unfortunately the couple have dark hair and the background is also dark - I think you can see her problem with the photos. Somehow the background needs to be lightened and neither of us know how (we both have Photoshop 7)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently imported all my iPhoto photos into LIghtroom...all went pretty well (some of the metadata didn't make the transfer for reasons unknown, even though I imported all of the photos as jpg files).
I'm stumped by what is most likely a VERY simple thing with a VERY simple answer:
How can I import (and move during the import into the LR5 catalog) a single photo from my Mac desktop?
The online support covers importing from folders, cameras, SD cards, etc...but doesn't mention importing a single photo that's already on my Mac. I've tried dragging the file onto the LR icon in my dock. LR starts up...but doesn't import the file. (Or if it did, I can't find it, since there's no "Last Import" selection in the Navigator panel).
I recently purchased a new Mac Desktop and I would like to transfer my lightroom from my pc to a mac desktop. I am not very savvy on when it comes to this...the apple store will transfer all my files except for software...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used LR 2 in the past with Windows 98 and an HP Photosmart Pro B9180 shooting with Pentax k10d using DNG files and printing with few or no problems with minimal developing. I am now trying LR 4 with the same printer and camera but with Windows 7 and with little or no changes in developing the prints are very dull and almost black. I have the latest driver updates and am have the printer letting the application manage the color with the correct setting in profile.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Lightroom 2.3 64-bit on a Windows 7 Home Premium operating system to process my RAW photos. When I export a post-processed photo to a folder on my hard drive, it appears very dark and muddy-looking, even though it seemed fine in the Lightroom catalog. I've had prints made from the exported files, and they also appear very dark and muddy. Also, oddly enough, when I return to the Lightroom catalog after exporting a photo, ALL the photos in Lightroom appear darker than they were prior to the export. If I close Lightroom and return later, they seem OK again (except for the already exported photos, which remain dark).

After installing, the Lightroom 5.3 icon appears on the top right of my Mac desktop, however, when i open Lightroom from Finder>Applications it still shows LR5.2C. So I clicked on the LR5.3 icon on the top right of my screen and it gives me the original box that I already clicked to install LR5.3.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have struggled with various settings of the Interface under Preferences, but the import dialog in Lightroom 3.* is so dark/low contrast as to be almost invisible. I have to really strain to read it.
The "dim level" control doesn't work nor does using "light grey" or "white" backhground. I'm using pretty common, calibrated monitors and the problem is not just on one computer.
When exporting photos from lightroom on to my desktop, I am able to view all the Metadata information when "getting information". However, that information does not show up when the photos are exported into individual folders within the computer. I am exporting the files the exact same way, so I am not sure why the information is not appearing the same.
I am on a Mac and working with Lightroom 5.

After finishing with developing an image including cropping, i export it to a Desktop file for emailing. however, the image that gets exported is not the cropped image but the original size.

View 2 Replies View Relatedsuccessfully imported one of 6 folders from laptop to ext drive. opened catalog in ext drive just fine. all images included metadata, keywords and appropriate collections show up. when i import from ext drive to desktop the images appear without any additional info. cannot figure out what i am doing wrong. initially imported all 6 folders from lap to ext to deskptop. not all images copied, collections were screwed up. everything was screwed up. that's when i decided to just try one ata time. creating new catalog each time. would like to include in existing catalog in desktop. until i can get it right, maybe i should create new catalog in desktop and then merge catalogs.

I'm trying to import from an SD card, and when I hit the LR desktop icon for the app, I get a small window asking me to "CHoose a Different Catalogue" or "Create a New Cataloague. The "Open" button is greyed-out. The large "Select a recent catalogue" window is empty. When I go the the SD card under my computer, all I can do is open it to a folder containing the images, and the only option is "Save", not "Open". But nothing happens when I hit the Save button.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was downloading some images from a Sandisk Extreme 111 CF 4Gb card (from a Canon 5d) and suddendly the card disappeared. At first I saw the previews in the LR "Import" dialog, but some quirk in the reader, or USB connection, caused the card to unmount. After that it won't mount or appear on the desktop.
Just to check, I put the CF card back in the camera and the first thing I got was a message sayin "Card not formatted".... even though I was shooting with it a few minutes earlier...
